  1. The controls can be a bit frustrating at times. I thought maybe it's just because I'm using Keyboard & Mouse, but when switched and played it with my Xbox controller, nope, still frustrating, but again, only sometimes. Overall, this is an amazing game. I just wish they would bring back/update the console mod. There's a ton of amazingly fun things that you can do with it. For instance: http://www.pcgamer.com/witcher-3-mod-adds-free-camera-and-unlocks-console/ Anyway, I'm still playing Fallout 4 a ton. I passed level 50 the other day. I haven't died in a long time. Next play-through I'm gonna go above Normal difficulty, I'll probably try the hardest difficulty, actually. I always do my first play-through of games on normal, because that's usually the developer's intended experience. I logged into WoW last night to do some garrison stuff on all of my characters. Man, this really is the worst WoW expansion so far. I still play it cause it's still fun in ways, but all of the other expansions I've played were definitely better. The new expansion "Legion" looks like it'll fix things up quite well. I can't wait.
  2. Not Call of Duty, it's more so Battlefield with Star Wars characters. It's the same development team. But of coarse there are some bigger changes than just a re-skin. I don't mean to nitpick, but I fear making that technically incorrect comparison would anger many of the fanatical CoD vs Battlefield fans. lol I don't play either Battlefield or CoD, but I'll be picking Battlefront up once I'm done with Fallout 4. I played the beta and thought it was awesome.
  3. been playing Dragon Quest VIII just recently but on PS2. it's a great game but slowing down cos Fallout 4 came out. Would love to have it on 3DS but i've already sunk in way too many hours to start again now. DQ8 is awesome. Why would you play it on 3DS when you have it on PS2 though Exactly / I won't be. But i would probably prefer to have it on handheld. Take it on train, play with telly on etc. Huh.... that wasn't what I was expecting you to say... I thought you were gonna say that you were clearly talking about Fallout 4 at that point.
  4. for some reason I love watching videos like these... makes me want to exploire the world and shit (and eat all the food) Me too. I was surprised that this kid handled his stuff so well. Even more so than his old man. The hottest I went was with a whole ghost pepper and good grief that was too bloody hot. I think I'll skip the Carolina Reaper. I like not being in agony. It's good fun not being in agony. I think I'll stick to that.
  5. [youtubehd]Wv3Ey_pPlXk[/youtubehd] @1:30 I guess you can't embed videos at a specific time?
  6. I don't come here for that kind of language, thank you. Anyways, I thought this was kinda funny. [youtubehd]C2Pt-LnQ2po[/youtubehd] VS [youtubehd]Wv3Ey_pPlXk?t=90[/youtubehd]
  7. DEAR LORD!!!! I'm definitely getting this once I get my Wii U this summer. And I'll probably never play as any other character again. And they included summons and bloody OMNISLASH!?!?! Also, I love the partially unspoken friendship between Nintendo and Sony. What with Shuhei Yoshida, President of Sony's Worldwide Studios, openly admitting that he plays Nintendo consoles a ton and loves them. And for a long time now they have been sharing rights back and forth to a number of once exclusive games. Games like Final Fantasy (in this case) and many more (like MGS) have been something between Nintendo and Sony far more than either with Microsoft. This makes me happy that my two favorite console developers have a pretty good relationship, despite being competitors. I'd love it if they got together and developed something original between the two of them. That would surely put the Xbox division of Microsoft in a much larger downward spiral. They're struggling as it is, what with Sony doubling their total sales numbers between the PS4 and XBone. Wii U isn't too far behind XBone. C'mon Nintendo and Sony! Work together in making something incredibly awesome for the gaming world.
  8. I've been craving some Mario Kart lately. I think I'mma have to call up my buddy and demand he has me over to play it. Cuz, ya, Nintendo makes solid games. Actually, I'm doing a Star Wars marathon with him shortly in preparation for Episode VII. I guess I'll just have to work in my need for Mario Kart before or after the movies. Curse his new busy lifestyle. lol. You can play online... I actually find the online (in a Nintendo game, gasp!) really solid, and surprised at how many people are still actively playing it. I'm well aware you can play online and have done so at my buddies place with people from all over the world with surprisingly low latency, strong connection, and quick wait times due to abundance of players. My problem is I don't have a Wii U or any Nintendo console right now. So I have to go to my buddy, who does have a Wii U. If I wasn't saving my pennies right now, I'd buy one for myself today. But I have something far more important to save up for. Wait until after E3 next year...as soon as any concrete info about the NX console drops, the Wii U will probably see a price cut to 150.00 That would be awesome! That's around the time where I'll be able to buy it anyways, so win/win.

  10. I can't do the whole thing in one sitting, that's for sure. We're splitting it up into 3 different weekends, 2 movies per weekend. Most of my friends are all too old for stuff like that anymore too, including me. The last time I tried a marathon all in one go was with the Back to the Future movies and we were all tired, cranky and delirious by the end, making jokes that made little sense, and that's only 3 regular length movies. No way we're doing 6 movies in a row, even if it is Star Wars.

  12. Hey, thanks Goiter, I've been pretty busy with some stuff the last bunch of days. But I plan on sitting down and working on some tunes very soon. And hopefully, with my mind being a lot clearer, I'll be able to fulfill ideas properly and come up with some cool sounds. Honestly, I've been putting it off a little because since I reformatted my computer I have to find and install all of my vsts and stuff again, and that'll take a while, especially since a ton of my vsts are 32-bit and I need to convert them to 64-bit again. But, like I said, soon.
  13. Yeah, I'm in the same boat. I'm guessing/hoping the pre-loading will start on Saturday. That should give me enough time. I don't have very good internet as I currently live out in the woods. The fastest I clocked my internet download speed at is around 4.5Mbps, but it's usually closer to 3 to 3.5Mbps. I usually just set things to download overnight while everyone's sleeping. That way it doesn't slow down the internet to dial-up speed during times when it's in use. And yeah, I haven't been this excited for a game since... well, probably HL2, like you. Man I did some crazy stuff to prepare for HL2. Me and my flatmate laid out our beer cans in a perfect lambda symbol in the middle of the living room floor. We bought all sorts of snacks so as not to have to go anywhere for food, which might disturb our gameplay. I was in my last year of high school at the time and I was a part of the morning announcement team where I announced it each day leading up to it's release. Of coarse on release day I stayed home and played it the whole day. Now, although I haven't done any of that kind of stuff for Fallout 4, I'm still just as excited for it. I guess I'm just becoming an old man now, lol. I'm pretty damn giddy though.
  14. Ya I read about that a few months back. Apparently when the guy bought a brand new luxury VW van he was scared someone would try to break in or steal it. So this was his solution. lol.
  15. Thanks guys. I was kind of hesitant to make that post as it's kind of personal and you guys don't know me all that well. But I felt I had to get it off my chest. Also that it has the potential to motivate someone in a positive way, who may be in a similar situation as I was. And since things are really turning out to be a great success based on what was a FWP (being over-medicated), I thought this thread was fitting. Your replies make me feel pretty damn good. Thanks again.
  16. I successfully made it through intense psychiatric drug withdrawals. I was on 7 prescriptions of mid to high doses of psychiatric meds. I was on them for over 8 years and decided i didn't want to live with all the nasty side-effects anymore, the biggest of which being the sedation. Couldn't think straight, tired all the time, sleeping the majority of each day and never feeling rested from sleep, no energy to exercise, all of this resulting in heightened pain from my fibro myalgia. Another big one was all the weight I gained. Within a year of starting the meds I gained about 75 pounds. So those things, among others, led me to decide to take a different approach to my mental health management. Someone I know, who has all the same illnesses that I have, to a tee, started years ago on a natural solution of special vitamin supplements called EMPowerplus, which is specifically designed for people with certain mental health disorders. The treatment worked really great for her, and with no side-effects. It was like night and day. So I decided to give it a try. Working along with trained professionals (doctors and such), I started taking the vitamins as soon as I got them and over a period of 2+ months I very slowly reduced my dosage of psychiatric meds. The withdrawals throughout this time were difficult, but very manageable. But when I went from taking the last dosage of meds to taking none at all the next day, things went nuts. For the next few weeks I barely slept at all. Some nights I'd lay in bed for 9 hours trying to sleep unsuccessfully. Then if I did finally fall asleep, nightmares would wake me up within half an hour to an hour, starting the cycle all over again. My mind went more haywire with bipolar and OCD symptoms than they ever have been before, which I wont go into. I'll just say it was really, really tough and frightening. And on top of all the craziness was intense physical pain throughout my entire body crippling me and basically confining me to my bed while taking painkillers every couple hours. As if that wasn't enough, I then caught a nasty virus. I had basically every flu and cold symptom I can think of. Sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, coughing, intense fevers, stuffed up, flegm, etc. And not being able to get to sleep made this virus get worse each day. I didn't eat much at all, and at times, what little I could eat, I ended up throwing it up anyways. I lost about 20-25 pounds in less than a week. Then one night the withdrawals lessened enough that I was able to get at least 6 hours of sleep. Since then I slowly progressed and had more sleep each night and an easier time getting to sleep. I could also eat meals again. Slowly my symptoms got better and better, both mentally and physically. Now, a few weeks later, I'm brilliant. I still have a bit of a cough, but I'm sleeping and actually feeling somewhat rested when I wake. I feel like I can think clearly again. My mental health is quite stable now too. My physical pain from my fibro myalgia is much, much less, which makes me take a lot less painkillers each day. Some days even none at all. I also already have more energy, so I'm setting up some exercise goals now. Honestly, I feel better and happier now than I have in a decade. Friends, family and my doctor are noticing that I'm more animated and lively and my sense of humor is back like it was and people are really noticing the weight I've lost so far. I'm told my health will continue to improve too. So I feel, although that was the most suffering I've ever experienced, the results were definitely worth it.
  17. JR, you'll be excited to see this one, as I know you played a lot of Uncharted multiplayer. [youtubehd]gHDKnWosOyY[/youtubehd]
  18. A few new PS4 game trailers. [youtubehd]AOZtqDhQP44[/youtubehd] [youtubehd]LL2gW7hmXu4[/youtubehd] [youtubehd]qvI5AHu5Xao[/youtubehd] Looking great!
  19. it was a mistake, and they're rebuilding the hospital and paying compensation to the victims. I'm not so sure russia would do the same. omg are you out of the loop. The hospital was the only building in an area surrounded by farmland and well known to both the US military and the afghan administration, it was under sustained attack for 20 minutes, the doctors in the hospital called the US command to tell them to stop firing at them and yet it continued, there were no 'terrorists' present, the US initially denied the action, médecins sans frontières has called it a war crime [Christopher Stokes, general director of Médecins Sans Frontières, said in a statement late 4 October 2015: "MSF is disgusted by the recent statements coming from some Afghanistan government authorities justifying the attack on its hospital in Kunduz. These statements imply that Afghan and U.S. forces working together decided to raze to the ground a fully functioning hospital – with more than 180 staff and patients inside – because they claim that members of the Taliban were present. This amounts to an admission of a war crime." Stokes said, "If there was a major military operation going on there, our staff would have noticed. And that wasn't the case when the strikes occurred." On 5 October, the organization released a statement saying, "Their [u.S.] description of the attack keeps changing -- from collateral damage, to a tragic incident, to now attempting to pass responsibility to the Afghanistan government...There can be no justification for this horrible attack."], they are not rebuilding a hospital, the organisation has withdrawn all of it's staff from the region, and on and on. You need to find somewhere else to get your news, honestly, words from some stooge at the state department being repeated by some talking head on abc or sbs, maketh not information worth repeating. The reason why the US did this was to get médecins sans frontières out of an area within which they are ramping up their push back against the taliban. They don't want anyone from the west to witness the coming atrocities obviously. And this is not the first time the US has attacked an hospital. A habit they must have picked up from israel, who is well known for it's brave actions against evil humanitarian targets, like UN run schools, hospitals, food banks and so forth. As for the russia comment, /shakes head in disbelief .. please stop watching mainstream news already. all of you. My two cents is that if you have reason to believe that one news organization can be corrupt, well the rest aren't 100% accurate either. There's just way too many factors to consider. So watch whatever news your comfortable with, but at the same time not believing that everything they say is fact. I'm not trying to attack or offend you, I just think it's decent advice that was worth a say. Now, so as not to break the point of this thread. If you haven't caught up on PBF Comics (which may be my favorite web comic). Here's one of the newest ones. It's from last month. By gum, this guy still makes me laugh. I love how the theme of most of his comics are turning something that seems so epic or just or cute or positive in nature into something so opposite. Or using the same type of humor the other way around. His ability to do that effectively is some of the best I've seen.
  20. final fantasy vii metal gear solid 3 world of warcraft call of duty (the first one and it's xpac) the elder scrolls: skyrim I'm not done with the witcher 3 yet and i think it may make the list once i beat it. I would've listed metal gear solid and final fantasy vi, viii, ix, and x, but i felt listing only my favorite of those series' would make room for other games that i thought deserved mention. honorable mentions are starcraft with its xpac brood war, god of war 1, 2 and 3, gta vice city and gta v, tekken tag tournament, zelda: a link to the past, half life 1 and 2, chrono trigger, and i could go on. I've played a lot of damn video games. A life wasted? meh...
  21. The new WoW expansion, titled Legion, looks awesome! They seem to be making some really nice moves design-wise. Which is nice, as Warlords of Draenor seems a bit lackluster. They changed PvP big time. And the lore involved covers a lot of ground. One big thing is the introduction of artifact weapons. This allows for some really cool ideas on weapon-talent trees and cosmetic customization. Each spec will have it's own artifact weapon. Frost DKs will get frostmourne for example. Of course this means very little if you're not into WoW, but I'm sure excited.
  22. I finally dived into the world of SLI. I got a second GTX 970 and with it came a free copy of MGS:V for PC! As for SLI: I love it. It was ridiculously easy to install and setup. The FPS improvement is usually around 80% increase. With 1 GTX 970 I was getting around 40fps in GTA:V at maxed out settings, and with 2 I'm getting around 70 fps. The Witcher 3 is also running smooth as butter at maxed out settings, Hairworks and all. So it looks like I'll be skipping MGS:V on my PS4 and just playing the free copy I got for PC. I also picked up an Xbox 360 controller for my PC for cheap. Works great.
  23. Ya, I've had the same problem. I have the GTX 970 as well. Not every day, but twice a week I'd say. And I'm on my PC a lot. I sure hope this stops with the next drivers. chances are it wont, but I'll continue PC gaming for sure. im using older drivers atm (347.88) and the problems are mostly gone ..i'll probably stay away from their newer drivers for a while. Well it's good that you found a pseudo-solution. Things seem stable for me right now as I haven't had the drivers crash in about a week now. I'm using the current 353.30 drivers. GeForce Experience updated with crash/bug fixes. I wonder if that has anything to do with it...
