  1. Regarding BASTL i'm really interested in their THYME. I guess it could be interesting to you too, xox.
  2. Yeah i can use mine like send FX via CUE output/input of OT for example and control it with CCs BBDBode example I didn't even touched MIDI generating stuff yet. Gonna use one of Axos for this (which lies with fried main outputs). I actually experimented with it by sending quantized MIDI CHAOS to Renoise via USB MIDI
  3. Yeah you can hear that clicks in my example on 3:54 - 4:00 mark. Regarding MIDI on DP4/DP2 you also have to deal with Mod Section where you should set Controllers, and their ranges. DP2 is able to use only 2 controllers per FXslot.
  4. Regarding FX i'd go Axoloti (+control thingy) way. I have one and made tons of crazy fx with it.
  5. It often clicks unfortunately when you change delay time via midi. Lexicon LXP5 doesn't click for example so you can do granular stuff with it easily. By the way there is also DP2 which is 2 times smaller) Example
  6. i didn't succeed again. fuck hardware! bye bye GAS!
  7. got GAS recently decided to treat it with another DIY repair attempt. gonna repair my beloved lexicon lxp-5.
  8. Eh t-res distorts pretty hard but i'd say more in overdrive-to-death fashion — you can burn/blow speakers pretty easily with it. So don't expect that watery organic rippling fuzzy distortion of Sherman. It also doesn't pass anything above ~16kHz. Speaking of mkI it also really noisy. I have it on send channel and routed back through stereo-group on my mackie cr1604vlz to control noisiness. Anyways i love mine to bits.
  9. Damn. Digitakt looks nice.
  10. I used only few and cheap. My favorites so far: ensoniq's dp/2 (dp/4) algorythms (many of which was made in attempts to reverse engineer lexicon's algos iirc) and lexicon's lxp5. Actually i was really surprized by lxp5, it is cheap but quality-wise it's reverb algo sounds like REVERB BUTTER. I was somehow sceptical about 'lexicon magic' before. By the way i tried to implement Tom Erbe's topology in Axoloti: Synth1 through Axoloti (more hifi) and also Keith Barr's (founder of Alesis) one.
  11. I see it more like synergistic process. After months of repatching, rerouting (without patchbay), dealing with menus etc i open renoise and feel myself like hyper efficient cyberspyder. It also makes me curious about undiscovered features in renoise i can abuse and get interesting results. Then, after 2-3 sessions, this state of mind can wear off and i return to hardware.
  12. Some of demos give an impression that there is some zero crossing detection in sampler engine. Is it just an impression?
  13. I use Sonic Potions LXR and i'm almost happy with it.
  14. I don't have any problems with getting emotionally engaging melodies from OT. I often just use chromatic mode on buttons, jam like on tracker qwerty-style and record it.
  15. ^ yeah, it's spectral osc sounds really close to 0-coast

    elseq 1-5

    My guess: sometimes ;)
  17. I tried to bind my micro to ESI MidimateII and didn't succeed. IIRC m-audio uno should work. I use focusrite saffire's midi in/out for editor since everything is sequenced from OT usually
  18. Actually z-plane filters on various e-mu samplers etc made that signature barking bass sound in late 90s drum'n'bass Edit: Damn, now i want e-mu E6400
  19. Dave Noyze made a little tool for PreenFM2 to generate Farey sequence family ratios. It could be used to manually program Yamaha stuff also.http://ixox.fr/forum/index.php?topic=69272.0
