Whilst being prolific in terms of bespoke software design for your own music (i.e. Max/MSP patches for Confield, Oversteps, etc. etc.), have you considered designing a manufactured hardware product? It's been interesting to see what The Black Dog have done with the CS X51.

Mine arrived this morning... only the second time I've heard it just now. The last two tracks are growing on me. Turns out I totally misheard the rhythm on the last track so absolutely nothing made sense; found the groove now though
-
Anyone feeling the first two tracks, then pretty meh about the last two? Only had one listen so far mind...

I think it sounds like Ae but it doesn't sound like Ae.

I'm sure it wouldn't take much manipulation or time to get rid of a watermark. But wow, what an asshole move. Taking time out of your day to erase watermarks just so you can leak an album and fuck with an artist and their work and method of income. That is the opposite of being a fan and borders on sociopathic.
Just to say I wasn't talking about using phase inversion to get rid of watermarks, merely has phase inversion ever been used as a "watermarking" process? It seems far to obvious to be done, but would be a dead easy way of making a promo master significantly different to the release master. Of course they can so easily be reversed too... :/
-
Are there any promos that are entirely phase inverted to the release master? Or is that too obvious?

To be fair, I love my 160GB iPod Classic...

I agree that they're two very different synths - I had a quick play on an A4 recently and approached it like a 4-channel analogue MonoMachine. That was a mistake. I had to forget about that before I wrangled anything good out of it.

Agreed, any thoughts of making it available via BandCamp or similar?
It's coming out Monday, links soon :)
Cheers for the feedback guys!

if i had the cash for a machinedrum i'd TOTALLY get one. or two. or more.
how long until they are $300-$500AU :p
They're slowly coming down in price on the second hand market. You might be able to get an SPS-1 Mk1 for that price already...

Think I've seen them go for quite a lot less than that....

Reposted from the Aoki Takamasa thread. If you're in the UK:
I don't know how, but Sainsbury's Entertainment have got a lot of the Raster Noton CDs for £10 - quite a lot cheaper than a lot of stores out there. Here's HD. -
This is getting a lot of love at the minute, posting in case people haven't heard:

Not sure if this has been picked up yet, but the intro of Gemini (after the "tada VHS intro jingle" thing) made me instantly think:
Also, there are several moments on the album where I expect BoC to break into this:

Because it makes sweet fuck all difference?
funny - Exai 24bit is same price as 16bitWow, £8.99 for the FLAC which is the same as a physical CD, and £2 more for the 24bit WAV.
Proof that digital distribution is more expensive than producing physical copies!
so why are bleep charging more for it?
So they can make a statement of "ooh look at us issuing over-spec'd 24-bit wavs".

When having artwork designed by a third party, do you have any input over the final graphic outcome? Are you ever approached for ideas during the conception of album artwork?
