  1. my older cat used to do that. she was already deaf at that point, I think it was mostly a dementia type thing in her case. how old is yours? edit: next level first world problem! you're being a dick to the entire world except the Netherlands!
  2. The Hunger Games: Watched the first half of this film stoned, told everyone it was amazing the next day. Watched the 2nd half and realized my positive critique had mostly been regarding the lead actresses tits.
  3. Had the worst nightmare about a schizophrenic woman hiding in my travel suitcase. She had cut off somebody's arms and put them in my backpack. When I found her hiding spot and saw her dark hair sticking out from under the zipper, she jumped me, trying to gauge my eyes out, forcing me to bash her skull in on the front door of my house. She made this gargling noise. I called the police. The officer told me I've been hallucinating because I injected corrupted data in my bloodstream.
  4. How on earth is it possible that I've never even heard of The Last Of Us until right now? It's kinda great though, since now I don't have to wait until it comes out. It does look very good indeed. Still, how did I manage ...
  5. The Walking Dead (Telltale version) - just finished the first episode ... SHIIIIIIT this shit is intense! Although a bit buggy.
  6. Oh, I never read them because I didn't want to go into the album with other people's opinions in mind! So is there a Warp office or something similar in Cologne? Something went down there, for all I know. I'll link you the article once it's released - until then, I shall be regarded as a coldblooded liar! (This is how TitsAndAcid must have felt...yeah I didn't believe him either)
  7. Except there haven't been any listening parties yet. I'm quite sure my friend wasn't lying to me, and I certainly wasn't making this whole story up. However, the word "listening party" is what I called this thing I was told about - I'm sure about this: It was a press promo event that took place at Cologne some days ago and that involved journalists listening to the album. For me that was a "listening party" but it was probably less of a party and more of a work-thing. Track-by-tracks reviews have already been published, where would the authors have heard the album if no promos were sent out ... ? So after what you posted, I assume there will be listening parties of some other sort before the release... neat.
  8. Latest episode of Hannibal was probably the best one yet. Almost no cheesy elements or major fuck-ups (like last week's episode) I don't know why I'm obsessed with this show, it keeps disappointing me, but it has such potential ...
  9. lol: I was told the guy who went to the Tomorrow's Harvest listening party instead of my guy didn't like the album at all. This is the same person who LOVED the new Daft Punk. Kinda rustles your jimmies, doesn't it ...
  10. Oh sweet, didn't see that - Yes Nightmare Park is in the same spirit as Motions! He should do more of those melody-driven ones, he's got a hand for it.
  11. "I guess it's more Remote Control, than say... Motions" I was kinda hoping for it to be the other way round, but oh well. New stuff is new stuff! I'm sure he's developed some new styles and techniques. By the way: Video Club - September 2009 Trademark Ribbons of Gold - September 2010 Midnight Section - September 2011 Looking forward to September!
  12. So I returned Infinite Bioshocks to the video-store (yes my friend still uses these!) last night, after playing a little bit further. I'm now about 5-6 hours into the game (which by normal standards would mean about half done, but I only just picked up Elizabeth really) - While I don't really get any satisfaction out of the combat, I must say the pacing is well done, especially since Elizabeth was introduced. It makes things a lot more interesting to have the main characters have constant conversations pretty much. It's more my kind of thing than the silent protagonist shooting stuff kind of thing. So I can tolerate the other aspect better at this point. Riding the skylines is fun too, but again, that just has to be experienced on a big screen. I think I'll still get the game eventually, but I'll get it for the art style and story rather than the gameplay (which is totally textbook, but not so much my kind of thing) - same as the older Bioshocks.
  13. Thanks guys. The other lady who got involved gave out her phone number in case she needed a witness ... but unfortunately, I know how this is going to be handled, the company is going to say "oh well our employees acted as they should have" etc and they're gonna insist on getting the money, witnesses or not... I could have given her my number as well but I decided that wouldn't have made a difference so I eventually left...
  14. This is not so much an every day problem (although it happens every day) but a super-infuriating thing that I witnessed and got involved in yesterday: I was taking a subway from the central station to my university, there few people inside - me, an Iranian woman and her little ~8 year old kid, another woman and two sleazy looking fat guys. The moment the doors shut, the fat guys ID'd themselves as ticket inspectors (the city hires all sorts of people for that, mostly students and such) so I showed them my semester ticket and sat back down. Then they checked the ticket of the lady with the kid and were mumbling something about the bicycle not being included. Only at this point I notice the kid has a little bicycle, not a toy but definitely just a children sized, red little bike. So the lady is like "okay then I shall pay the extra 20 cents for an additional bicycle ticket" and these mofos tell her she needs to pay a 40 Euro (almost 60$ I think) fine. At this point, I decide to get involved and tell them "I can take a bicycle on my ticket, I'm taking this one." but the mofos tell me "You can only take your own bike blah blah", so I'm saying "Well this is my bike then." and they're going "No it's not, we know it's not!", I'm going "How do you know? I'm telling you this is my bike, the lady is telling you this is my bike, so it must be, right?" - Then the other woman gets involved, basically just telling the mofos they are being mofos, the Iranian lady is going "I flew in from Teheran today, I haven't slept in a day and now I need to put up with this shit because of a 20 cent difference, what's wrong with humanity" and so on, we're all getting out of the train, I get out a stop early just to try and convince them the bike is mine, the little kid is traumatized because he thinks some stranger wants to steal his bike or something, the Iranian lady is telling me thank you, one of the mofos is telling me "Your flies are undone, Sir", I'm telling him "Yeah, I'ma leave it like that, too, why were you even looking, why are you being the way you are being in general", they are telling us we can file a complaint and send it to the city blah blah, I'm saying it's just gonna go straight to the shredder anyways and the whole discussion seemed just utterly pointless to beging with. Unfortunately the mofos had already wrote down the lady's ID so I fear she's gonna have to pay in the end. Such enormous cunts.
  15. Friend gave me Bioshock Infinite for today... this game needs to be played on a projection, it's not nearly as impressive on my tv (which isn't all that small, but SD) I must say I'm not enjoying the combat one bit. I wish it was more stealthy sneaky... I don't like first person combat at all. It also feels a bit outdated, mechanics wise. I wish they had invented something as innovative for the gameplay as they did for the rest of the world they created. PS: Does it remind anyone else of the sky castle level from Super Mario 64?
  16. Apparently Stoya has abandoned porn and is into serious art these days. This one's for you, kaini. NSFW
  17. I heard 6 hours of it live. I was there when it happened, man.
  18. I've watched some episodes on youtube a while back, the comments suggested otherwise. Somebody had even written: who cares if it's real or not, it's ENTERTAINING! Maybe the fact that it's staged annoys me so much because it's such a fun and simple concept, it would be logical for it NOT to be fake. Most friends would do these competitions for the sake of doing the competitions, but as soon as TV comes into play, it's back to staging and scripting etc ... a million YouTubers would do this genuinely. In fact, there was a German Rip-Off of the franchise some years back ("Elton vs. Simon"), in which they actually did the competitions (at least in some of the episodes). It even had the same opening credits and music. It was later adapted into a live show with several mini-competitions. Very low-brow but at least it was some honest bullshit.
  19. Didn't the guy who always lost pretty much quit the show because he was psychologically damaged from all that abuse. Or was that all made up? Dudes, Kenny vs. Spenny was the most obviously scripted show ever, I couldn't watch it, it was so embarrassing, Americans (or Canadians) must have a strange concept/perception of reality! The fat "Jack Black"-type sympathetic character almost always won against the stereotype introvert-character so there wouldn't be riots in the streets and to prevent you guys from going on yet another shooting spree!
  20. So I ended up starting a new game in Infinite last night (on a big-ass projection) and played for about three hours (but I didn't get very far cause I always look at all the environments and stuff) - still, I was positively surprised by the atmosphere. the graphics (especially textures) on PS3 did look slightly outdated and low-rez, but the game made up for it through brilliant lighting and an extraordinary feel for color, in fact this game may have the best palette I've yet seen in a game... not to mention the overall art-style. I did fall asleep when the fighting started and my friend took over (yes it took me three hours to get to that point - somebody else would have played through that section in 5 minutes, but like I said, I look at it all) and it's a bit sad how this is still just an FPS game at its core. It could have been made into something even more amazing... but all in all, it's very impressive, I'll probably buy it.
  21. I totally have that ASMR-thing going on with the sounds of water, like the shower running and similar noises. I could listen to it for hours. I got a lot of negative goosebump-sounds though... like that scraping/squeaking noise that happens when pushing the straw through the plastic lid of a soft drink cup ... or the little noise you only really hear in your head whilst scraping the final bits of chocolate off the wooden stick of a Magnum ice cream with your front teeth ...
  22. Nah, it's still as fresh as Bioshock Part the Second or Infinite Bioshocks!
