    the originals didn't have much of that at all, especially not Aliens, there's lots of rose-tinted views of these movies that doesn't hold up to scrutiny (not saying they're not as good as people think, just that they're not judging modern movies by the same standards). it's easy to do, largely subconscious and related to nostalgia I guess. aliens is actually not a very good movie i agree

When the two meet waiting in line for the newest nintendo product however, they begin an intense and confusing homosocial relationship, oblivious of each other's true internet identity. Eventually the mod learns that the enchanting man he's involved with is actually his business rival. He must now struggle to reconcile his cyber-hate with the passionate, entirely non-sexual love he's come to feel.

    i will also say that I have a weird personal dislike of chris parnell, which doesn't help rick and morty. I find his voice really grating (like in those progressive animated box ads) and generally unfunny. I understand that dr. spaceman was a beloved character on 30 rock but he was actually my least favorite character (apart from kenneth). now that i think about it, it must be because I hate their voices.

    why do you guys like rick and morty? i found the burping really hard to deal with. anyway catastrophe season 3 was funny. maybe not quite as funny as the last two but the chemistry between the two leads is great. it buoys the entire show. also that i find sharon horgan v v attractive. that buoys my penis. Did we talk about the finale of girls yet??? It was quite an interesting way to end the series even though I did not enjoy watching it at all. I had expected (and weirdly wanted) a perfect, charming epilogue / wrapping up ala the end of harry potter. Instead everyone's life is completely ruined for the future. depressing!!

    that blog post is stupid. his argument that color correcting films to make them look sharper and snappier is not only bad film making, but the greatest scourge of cinema of the last 15 years is ridiculous. Who cares. I didn't leave transformers thinking "wow I really wish I could have seen shia lebeouf's CORRECT skin tone. that would have fixed this movie." obviously not. yes color palate and correction certainly affect the tone and feel of a film - that's obvious. the matrix and enemy are two easy examples. But getting upset because a preview movie poster has the cyans and oranges pumped up? dang.
