    good to know, i have less than 10 plugins that i use, just having them dropped in a single folder is fine for me. i’m sure it’s a help for the many plug in lovers out there. i’m more thinking about it for samples, i don’t have a horde of them but i’ve got a few folders worth collected (more like ‘samples i haven’t lost yet’) over the last ~20 years that i’d rather just access in their folders & search by text when necessary…for the crowds with hundreds of sample collections i’m sure the tagging/autosorting will be a help…as long as i can not use that and Ableton doesn’t try and restructure my files i’ll be fine. will probably be turning off auto-update before 12 drops tho, just so i can wait until any final release day bugs are sorted in those first few weeks. in the past they’ve had problems shipping a major updates with issues/bugs/incomplete implementation.

    Elon and his lovers are such weird fucks. this worship of false power like that is so fucking maniacal & absolutely pathetic. your kid’s the future. the youth of today growing up amidst this are by and large doing far better to see the world for the twisted dark capitalistic hellscape it is in many ways, i have no doubt the generation being born now will see things even more clearly as they age up in the next couple decades as fascism/etc. becomes more stark. i’m a pretty doom and gloom guy about a lot of stuff but the youth right now are seemingly on the right track for the most part. the actual climate effects are already starting and hitting some areas hard, the migration/economic/social fallout from this is going to be more apparent to many’s daily lives than the actual physical changes of the planet, at least for quite some time (probably well past your kid’s lifespan). hopefully their generation and the ones after them will have enacted sweeping changes to mitigate and reverse before things get that bad. the planet heals quickly in many cases. there’s a lot of hope to have.

    i liked the final reveal of the story of True Detective S4, but the overall plot still felt very overbaked/convoluted. epilogue stuff felt unnecessary and silly. overall the season was just not very good imo, pushed way way too hard. some really good acting from almost everyone, i just couldn’t ever fall for the horror movie BS it kept trying to force in. a few tweaks (and ~3 more episodes worth of budgeting to allow the story to breathe) could’ve really made the season strong. as is it’s pretty middling, sadly. few redeeming qualities.

    thanks! exactly what i was going for, glad it’s working for ears other than mine i wake up before dawn and head down to the beatmines, toil & dig by the sweat of my brow and strength of my own muscles trying to find that vein on premium untapped beatage, each day and each year it’s more and more rare to find some new freshness down in those depths but ‘tis my privilege to live, nonetheless a bane, carrying on the traditions rooted in the depths of these mountains, the source under the heavy earth of the ancient, purest beatore our forefathers’ forefathers only dreamed of in their wildest fevers.

    yeah at least i guess i meant not just fake USB story but like....just logically if SP had a USB with stems of tracks, he would have multiple tracks on there or multiple takes or something. just the single track broken out as stems doesn't really make much sense (like, even thinking about how SP is writing these tunes, i'm not sure if he's even using a stemmed process? i thought all the last few years was in his custom Reaktor thing which is super complex, it may not spit out 'stems' like that at all...just speculating there tho)

    yeah this is a good point worth considering here actually. i understand the hesitancy to start making sub forums for every artist/subgenre but being a bit more malleable on this front could help with keeping both the old and the new interested in general, without necessarily exploding the forum or anything, i’d think. also, some other tiers might be a help. i wouldn’t mind dropping $20/year as an EKT but i just don’t have any interest in the CDR thing

    i don't think i'm making the scope of what i'm talking about clear. i'm not in the industry so i'm not going to try and explain better...maybe i don't understand, idk. anyway just saw Marques drop this about it and yeah, his 'look how far we've come in 1 year' breakdown of all of this is pretty good: this shit is moving SO fast. SO SO fast i don't think anyone ITT (myself included) really understands just how quickly this shit is ramping up, exponentially. the wolf pups appearing out of nowhere is hella fuckin weird. the hands and candles in the grandma vid, super weird. it's going to be wild in a few years when this shit is super realistic but creatively... 'this is the worst this tech is gonna be from here on out...' sums it up. this is only going to get much, much, much better (/more horrifying)

    ha holy fuck if they can keep up that quality for a minute, they can keep it up for an hour+. Pixar and other CG animation (almost all of it now) is going to have to really rethink how they do things over the next 10 years as this tech grows and becomes more malleable. those CG companies already spends tons of their time/money on computing infrastructure just for rendering, i wonder if a combo of AI + current render techniques might make things actually better/quicker/easier in some ways. as all this AI tech becomes true tools, it's going to be really impressive seeing what actual human artists can do with it all.

    nice, will have to add that to the list i've been watching S1 of A Black Lady Sketch Show and it's good so far. got plenty of just silly jokes, lots of good funny characters, tons of guest stars, and best of all a touch of surrealism/weirdness that the best sketch shows always pull in.
