  1. First off, yes this is probably the best DJ set I've ever heard. And it contained this one fucking awesome track that I listened to again and again, and although I tried, I never found out who it was, but I heard rumours that it was Ceephax. So now I found out it was Ceephax, and the track was release FOUR YEARS AGO?!?! How could I miss it?! This seriously made my day, thank you so much! My #1 priority in life right now is to obtain a copy of Psychtapolis, I just love that track so so much. [youtubehd]2ukcG-7MYgM[/youtubehd]
  2. i own the second one, it's a compilation of rave music and features an afx track, like the titles say from the analogue bubblebatch series. don't know how it's called on the original release though? I have found the track and it's only released on that compilation but I can't find the first one anywhere. An officially released track from 1995 that I have never heard of? That's a nice surprise! Now I just have to find it... I'm uploading it on YouTube right now. [youtubehd]3C87G9szsRw[/youtubehd] If it's this track, then it is also released on Analogue Bubblebath 4 (the third track on my CD). Sorry for perpetuating the off topic!

  4. I guess I have to be the one nerdy fan that the TDR designer talked about (he said something about them not having added it all up but that someone would). Based on the handy text provided by oOOo my computer tells me that the expenses add up to £3.198846.
  5. This is really good. I was thinking the other day how interesting it would be if Richard did a release made using only the Elektron Sidstation. I think he could enjoy that kind of challenge. Richard are you reading this?
  6. Jesus Christ, the kids will wake me up in less than six hours but I just want to stay up and listen to Syro... It's just so much FUN to listen to!
  7. It could very well become more coherent to me the more I listen to it. But this leads me to another thing I've been thinking about, when he decides to release these 6 year old tracks, does he go back and work on them some more? Tying them together for the release, or just redoing them to more match his newer sensibilities? Is there any clear changes in the released versions to the live ones? (I'm too lazy to check myself)
  8. So I picked up the CD today (Sweden). After 1½ playthrough, here are some thoughts: * It's fucking great. Maybe his best release, time will tell. * It doesn't really feel like a cohesive "album" to me, not like Drukqs. It feels like a collection of great tracks (which, you know, ages between "six months and six years" as he said in one interview). But this is probably the first RDJ release where I like all the tracks. The closest so far was Rushup Edge, but I always skip Death Fuck when I listen to that. Here, I would have no problem putting it on and listening to all the tracks in order. On his older releases I skip almost half the tracks. * It is at least as good as any of his other releases, and I feel so incredibly happy about this, because I can't think of any other of the artists that I would categorize as being among my favorites for whom this is true. Some of them have completely lost me over the years, some are still good but not as good as when they did their first stuff. But for me RDJs stuff just keeps getting better. Like I can't really understand people who say that SAW 1 is the best release. This Analord -> Tuss -> Syro progression just fits my changing tastes (taste always changes) perfectly, and I feel so lucky about that.
  9. I'm glad this album finally came out, it's very good! Also the artwork is lovely.
  10. How can two tracks be remixes of each other? Like, is the chicken a remix of the egg or is the egg a remix of the chicken? Hmm...
  11. I clicked on one of the tracks, but after just a second of the track had played I realized that I want to listen to the whole thing at once, in peace, when I finally get the CD that I desire so into my home. So I closed the tab, hopefully forever...
  12. Welcome to the club! (it would be ironic if I'm no longer "recently joined" after this post). My excitement for Syro has made me come out of my lurker shell, so maybe soon I'll be a big boy/real member! you have to edit your member title Thank you!

  14. Seems kind of random, doesn't it? The Swedish shops I've looked at all have the release date as the 19th.
  15. I still have the 10,8MB RealMedia file for that video that was up on Rephlex.com! PM me if interested ;D I wonder if there is anyone forgotten hard drive or videotape anywhere in the world that holds a higher quality copy of it...
  16. I'd rather see the "Making of Windowlicker-track". It would like to see him sing it live. "Oooh-oooh... Oooh-uuuh-wo-ooooh..."
  17. 1) Defunct in Dutch means defunct in English. Exactly the same. 2) Richard goes along with the question in his sentence saying that the expensive Analord binders played a part in the now defunct Rephlex label. Translated exactly he said: "Is that (the expensive binder) the reason for Rephlex now being defunct?" It didn't help in any case, no, but there was more going on as well. Aww shit :braindance:
  18. Also if there is ever a release of a "Making of Windowlicker"-video I would be so glad, that music video is a masterpiece.
  19. I kind of feel that people are jumping to conclusions about Rephlex being no more: 1) Google translated a dutch word to "defunct". Well many parts of that translation are just gibberish, so I feel it's very possible that the word used was something more like "stasis", "hibernation", or maybe "broken", "confused", "errant" or something like that. 2) Richard doesn't really confirm or deny anything in his answer. He could very well have said something about their future plans, the text is "some outtakes from our interview". Although I agree that things have been awfully quiet...
  20. Update: Did not happen. I've become too fat to wear my medium sized t-shirt, and the large size one had baby vomit on it. Things sure have changed since Drukqs!
  21. So excited I think I have to wear my Aphex Twin t-shirt to work tomorrow ... YEEEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!
  22. Well, these two tracks were the final little nudges needed, now I have to order this...
  23. Guess I can stop checking every day to see if it's released yet then...
  24. I don't know how "obscure" these recommendations are but they are some of my favourites not yet mentioned. "Normal (Changed Version)" on this Baby Ford EP is one of my absolute Rephlex favourites: http://www.discogs.com/Baby-Ford-Normal-Re/release/63828 (Here's the shorter radio edit that is on the other EP in the pair: )This Bochum Welt (along with all the other Bochum Welt stuff) is also very very good: http://www.discogs.com/Bochum-Welt-Feelings-On-A-Screen/master/12157 As for something more obscure, Lektrogirl's I Love My Computer might not be great overall but it has a few great tracks, especially this one: Edit: What's with the weird highlighting... Also: 8th year as a new member!
