To me it seems like a great deal! If these were all released separately, who wouldn't pay $10 a piece for them? They're almost like 5 albums... yeah I get that there are less tracks (but longer) so maybe less ideas than a regular album, but there's still tons of great content. Anyways, that's my take. And any new autechre release is so special to me that price really is not as issue.

BS quaristive oversteps exai and ae_live are great. l-event I sort of dislike the color scheme though but it's grown on me I liked Quaristice (beautiful blue & white, plus it was their first to offer individual track artwork) and Oversteps, but Exai was weak for me and L-Event is just disgusting to look at. I'm digging the AE_LIVE and elseq stuff a little more, but it is quite lazy.

Very true! I find myself wishing there was more, which is pretty crazy after what we were given. After I finish one I look to see which one to put on next and I think, "but I just heard all of these sighing the last day or so"

Just heard elseq 4 for the first time.... dear lord, that was epic! acdwn2 - really gave me an untilted vibe... great start! foldfree casual - FINALLY something a little more laid back (casual), but they couldn't even keep it chill for a whole song lol latentcall - what did I just hear? Awesome!! I've been reading that title a lot in this thread and it didn't disappoint artov chain - short & aggressive... a little gantz graffy. Love it! 7th slip - wooooo!! This is my favorite set so far FOR SURE!

I can't believe you still haven't bought this? You're obviously REALLY into music and take it very seriously, and it sounds like ae is one of your favorites... I just don't understand how you can hold back. If you like Exai and the AE_LIVE stuff then you'll love elseq. Maybe we should all pitch in and buy a copy for Jev! So last night I moved on to elseq 2 after hearing the first one 3 or 4 times... and I'm greeted with elyc6 0nset? Dear god, this is one of the most beautiful things I've heard from ae!! Especially all that craziness near the end... I was just sitting there with a huge stupid smile on my face. I don't even really remember the rest of the EP since I was kinda traumatized (in a good way). Can't wait to dive back into that one today! I wasn't expecting much because I thought ppl here were complaining that it was too long and boring??! How could that be?? :(

The extra bandwidth for larger file sizes is probably multiplied by the incredibly long length of the release (over 4 hours here as opposed to an hour or less for an album and maybe 30 mins for an EP). That's my guess anyways... I'm sure they're still making lots of extra cash on those!

Anyone else gonna take these 1 or 2 at a time? I'm planning on just hearing the first 2 through this weekend to really dive deep in them. Then maybe 3 & 4 for next week. I don't know... it's just such an overload I wanna make this last a little bit.

Not if you consider that it's over 4 hours of music... many albums are 45 mins or less and sell for $10 no problem. Personally, I don't care WHAT they charge... new ae is new ae, Just hypothetically speaking (and not dissing Ae because I love them and they are really committed): if you got 4 hours of pink noise for 33 dollars would you base your argument on runtime? lol no of course not, but this ain't pink noise Sure but if the release contains a 27 minute track that you really dislike then those 27 minutes basically gets reduced to the pink noise, no (I like the pink noise in the background though haha)? The example of the 27 minute long track was taken from the guy (not remembering the name) who expressed his disappointment with the lack of progression in the track. Not my rating. I've only heard the first release so no comment on the 27-min track, but you can listen to everything on the store before purchase... so really you could just purchase the ones you thought were worth it. Not really sure why this is even a discussion. You can play only snippets of the tracks and then you have to choose another part of the preview to listen to more because it stops playing, no? Or do I do something wrong? I mean I am not sure if I can handle previewing long tracks like that :-)) Yeah it just plays a portion at a time (I think about a min), but when it stops you just click where it paused to continue, then repeat. It's annoying, but I've sampled tons of full tracks that way on Bleep. I'll agree though, it kinda kills the momentum for long tracks when you do that. They always sound way better as a continuous stream into your brain.

As amazing as these soundboards are, they don't make up for a new album for me. The albums are completely different... they're more focused ideas that are manipulated to perfection, whereas the a live set is more of a loose jam. If I could only have one or the other, it'd be albums for sure. But from what I've read on here, I don't think sean & rob would want to choose one over the other.

They're ALL worth it, especially for the discounted price after you buy one. I hesitated at first, too, because why would I need 4 shows that are similar? I bit the bullet anyways since it was such a good deal and man, best decision ever! I can't get enough of these. Yeah, they're similar, but different enough to where it's a whole new experience each time. I can honestly see myself collecting everything they put out, even if it's a TON of shows (hopefully). If they put out the whole NA tour, I'd buy all that too. But with 4+ hours, I've got plenty to keep me entertained for awhile!
