That quote is so on point for me. I played at a show/mini-festival at 93 feet East (I think it was there!?) around a similar time and they both played too. Kid606 was a total arsehole, Oneohtrix was a stellar person.

used to fucking love those free gigs (on a wednesday?) at 93 feet east. Where I first saw Goodiepal and a bunch of other stellar acts.

    Any of your music online?

Condolences. Do you mind if I ask how Korg passed away?

We just lost Antonio and are absolutely gutted. We think he had a heart attack. From what we can tell he was sitting on top of his favorite chair, fell off (we heard a loud thud), meowed like crazy and I watched him take it his last breaths as I looked him in the eye. I miss you so much Antonio - you really were my best friend. Nine years old.

Sorry to hear about Antonio :^(

Yeah this is my first cat death and it's pretty fucking gutting.

Her appetite started to fade so we had to get her to the vet. At first we thought she might have an impacted hairball or something. Vet thought it might be a kidney problem and we were looking at just changing her diet and probably having her on medication for the rest of her life. But then the more experienced vet (bear in mind this is like now £600 in the hole with tests and vet visits etc) decided to stick his oar in and said she was a bit young (8) to be having kidney problems and wanted to do an ultrasound scan.

Turned out she had stomach lymphoma, he said she probably had 3-4 weeks left to live.

He took all the kidney meds etc off our bill and just gave us a load of (thankfully cheap) meds to keep her comfortable. Steroids, appetite stimulants and nausea inhibitors.

Luckily she was never in such obvious stress + pain that we felt we needed to call out the needle man. She passed away Saturday night on the 15th of October. It was a very sudden change where she was mildly freaking out and couldn't settle anywhere. Eventually she just laid on the floor breathing very fast and hard. I laid down with her and held her and talked to her the whole time, it took around 2hrs for her to pass.

We buried her (illegally) in the park local to me, in the bushes on the edge of a secluded little 'wild' overgrown nature field.

    Now we have Moog:

This is a cracking release, don't understand the Autechre references in the BC profile though.

the other releases on that label have all been very good thus far

A pretty nice haul all and all if a bit rushed, but got it on holidays and the store was pretty nice if a bit limited in some crucial parts like their amount of electronic music

    * Main - Firmament III (ambient drone from former shoegazers)
    * Gangsta Boo - Both Worlds *69 (If you like Three 6 Mafia, be sure to check this one out, she was a member in their earlier days including such widely beloved works as Mystic Stylez)
    * Steve Roden - Three Roots Carved to Look Like Stones (Lowercase isn't everyone's cup of tea but it is mine)
    * MC Nas-D & DJ Freaky Fred - It's My Cadillac (Got That Bass) (I'm sometimes a sucker for Miami Bass)
    * Two recordings of some works by modern composer Giacinto Scelsi, one of which is a recording of Ensemble 2E2M conducted by Paul Méfano from 1990 and one is a recording of  the Münchener Kammerorchester conducted by Christoph Poppen from 2006
    * Aswad - Hulet (Before they went pop, these British future reggae stars released two albums which were rootsier/more soulful, of which this is the second)
    * The 2003 reissue of the Arditti String Quartet's performance of Luigi Nono's sole piece for string quartet (as well as another string work) Fragmente; Hay que caminar
    * Sly and Robbie - Rhythm Killers (kinda cool kinda trash album from the master rhythm section produced by Bill Laswell and featuring guests ranging from Bootsy Collins to Henry Threadgill)

Love me some Main. Check out Tau and Transiency if you haven't already.

Couldn't think of the best home for it but...man, in my adolescence and early 20s, I really bought into the idea that Warp-era fellers were doing unprecedented things--"Eno? Never heard of 'em" lines from Richard, etc. You really do have to get old to understand that there's nothing new under the sun. Can't believe this is 40 fuckin' years old

Ay, I bought this LP in a charity shop (brit for thrift store) back in 2008-ish, purely based upon the artwork and title.

It's become a personal fave over the years.

    death this, pain that!

it seems to me that the majority of noise music (especially power electronics subgenre and similar) is related to death, murder, rape, child sex abuse and similar stuff and that's disgusting to me tbh; bc it's such a cheap and shallow and unidirectional and adolescent approach to noise music; i much prefer noise music that's less focused on the evil stuff, or at least when it has less explicit lyrics and track/album naming and album covers...

    I'm with you on that.

I am much more likely to be into a noise album that looks like this

    ab67616d0000b273e0a4df10ab79dc2cb01e739c

    (Merzbow's Cycle btw)

Than the usual 'dark' xeroxed photos of dead hookers, prurient stuff.

Noise having to be about anger and fear is smoothbrain energy
