  1. I like the dinosaur with sunglasses idea more than this one.
  2. Fuck, when I went to Amoeba Hollywood I saw RDJ album and In a Beautiful Place Out In the Country, 25 dollars each. Didn't pick either up :(
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiOcVWQY2bc This song will NEVER grow old. Something about it sounds so astonishingly good every single time I listen to it.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ssdgFoHLwnk Now that it's finally getting cold over here in California, I've been listening to this album so much.
  5. Today is 'trane's birthday *listens to Coltrane all day* http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6WwuxqXPOg
  6. Herbie Hancock - Head Hunters John Coltrane - The Best of John Coltrane The Jazz Messengers - S/T Keith Jarrett - The Koln Concert Vetiver - The Errant Charm Red Hot Chili Peppers - Freaky Styley
  7. ...and the Ambulance Died in His Arms is highly underrated, IMO. Some of my favorite Coil songs are on that album. Then again, it has quite a lot of Balance singing, which seems to be an acquired taste.
  8. Found it! Sleepbot is the name. The website cataloging his excellent taste in ambient music is right here: http://sleepbot.com/ambience/ The radio webpage is right here: http://sleepbot.com/seb/ The first link hasn't been updated in years, but there's still plenty of great music to go off of.
  9. Does anyone remember the name of that one internet ambient radio station? It wasn't on soma.fm, and the guy who hosted it uploaded his massive collection of ambient music online and organized it by how it sounded. It was a great website but I've lost the bookmark and the name escapes me.
  10. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWJy03HLG1E This is one of the most groggy, tired, and fuzzy sounding ambient albums I've ever listened to. It's like waking up early, early, early in the morning when the whole world is just completely silent and you're not entirely thinking straight.

  12. Today I had to choose between a bacon cheeseburger and a swiss cheese/sauteed mushroom burger.
  13. Refinement of the Decline and Tired Sound of Stars of the Lid by Stars of the Lid goes hand in hand with everything Gas has released as the top-tier of ambient music IMO.
  14. I had a pretty interesting trip today. I got all this for 25 dollars. The bolded records I'm particularly happy to have picked up. These were all spur-of-the-moment buys based solely on very quick and judgmental listens I had in the record store. Except for the Environments LPs, which I already know are going to be awesome. Charles Wuorinen - Time's Ecomium Philip Glass - Songs from Liquid Days Muddy Waters - After the Rain Environments: The Magic of Psychoacoustic Sound - Disc 8 and 10 Percee P - Put it On the Line 12" Keith Mansfield and Richard Elen - Future Perspective (a sci-fi themed library LP I found laying around for five bucks)
  15. Yeah why do people have beef with the production? It's a little loud but that's what it's supposed to be.
  16. Tribe is definitely in the top for me. First hip hop group I really enjoyed.
