I had a TB-3 and to be honest, I wouldn't recommend it...i sold mine and got an Analogic TT-303 instead. In my opinion it's much much better.

Yeah, thats what I would do (and am going to when ive got cash)

also, dont overlook x0xb0x MarOS firmware

yeah x0xb0x is also wicked...TT-303 has the looks down though :)

the TB-3 basically doesn't sound as good as either of the above (has a hard digital edge and can be aliasy) the accent is all fucked up and doesn't really work properly, the touchscreen control method is shit and it's not anywhere near as useful as the TT-303 or x0xb0x - e.g. no CV, limited pattern modes, that stupid scatter thing (which is really bad), no envmod knob etc. Roland dun fucked it up.

MarOS is great but I put a CPU upgrade and n0nx0x in mine last winter and it's just fantastic. I do sometimes miss the gate time adjustment from MarOS though, you can get some really cool, rhythmic, almost clavinet sounding stuff out of it with really short gate times.

what do you like about n0nx0x?  I noticed really good song modes, 64 bar, trigger pattern by midi note, that kind of thing...

I am quite interested in another x0x/tt

  3. it was just the rubber surround (?) to the paper cone, someone laying on a couch at a houseparty stuck their foot into it and separated the two..  was just gluing those back together, even if sounded a bit crap it would be at least fixed.

Hes quoted me £180 per speaker for re-coning, also something about learning new tech since then (these are Townshend Glastonbury mk1s) and can upgrade them, but god knows how much that would cost. Modern Townshend stuff is wayyy out of my pricerange. these are inherited.

The rubber is begining to split all over both speakers anyway.

Fwp,  but yeah, im shit at DIY  :cerious:

  4. Sorry to hear that Braintree, dont be self-destructive over it, ime it makes things worse in the end

im guessing that she doesnt feel the same way right? or show any signs

I had someone like that, in fact I was in a relationship with her & she left pretty soon, i was so gutted. But we are good friends now & I wouldnt want anything more than that, so things can & will sort themselves out - at the time though, ouch

She did know everything how I felt though so it went that way by sheer force.  If this is making you ill then its wrong and needs to change, somehow.

I know what you mean though, if she knew it was upsetting you she might give you all the space, but then at least you know how she feels & you can start getting used to becoming friends..

if she likes you she likes you, she will know either way, surely?

do you think I would benefit from getting an IS lens?     ive heard conflicting stuff (from camera-sluts forums)

Maybe I can rent one now im in london and take for test drive

I dunno if you'd benefit or not. My comment was more on the sharpness considering you're not using IS.

Yeah I meant that, i want to use less flash & open the lens for longer but its hard

also, IS is independent from AF isnt it, because i use manual focus
