  5. Oversteps fits just fine into the Expedit, with about 2cm clearance. Structurally mine has held up just fine, and since that photo has had just about every available space filled with new arrivals. I'd definitely recommend an Expedit, though seeing this picture recently made me feel a little uneasy: given to me by GF! she's got a black dog spanners tape knocking around somewhere too it's the new reissue on Music on Vinyl (MOVLP063) with the orange vinyl, a really nice package all round. a friend has the 1st issue trunk lp which i've always wanted a copy of (not willing to pay £100 though..) but the new one does nicely - don't think it has quite the same tracklisting though
  6. That must have left quite a dent.. If you don't want to spend too much cash, Ikea Expedit is your friend - they come in a few different sizes, I have the (now overflowing) 5x5:

  14. it's my first exposure to Drexciya, and it was probably a bad idea, since i want them all now *sadfase* Was in Vinyl Exchange in Manchester this weekend, they have most of the early Drexciya EPs up on the walls - £30 - £40 a pop This weekend's vinylyy purchases: The Wicker Man OST Shirley Collins - False True Lovers Harry Smith's Anthology Of American Folk Music Volume 3 Stravinsky Conducts Le Sacre Du Printemps David Sylvian - Gone To Earth
  15. vinyl is my format of choice, i love vinyl, i have thousands, but i would never try to claim that it is a more accurate recording medium than 44.1Khz/16bit digital, never mind higher resolutions. it simply isn't. mastering issues notwithstanding, of course. however, more accurate doesn't necessarily mean better.. that's why i'll enjoy playing oversteps on vinyl much more than the super-fidelity 24-bit wavs. simply put, it's just a more interesting experience.
  16. Tremendous LOL. How can someone miss the point so comprehensively? Go and get your coat. You don't seem to get a lot from music with your brainiak, techno-analytical approach, so I'd suggest dropping it and getting a new hobby. Such as visiting nuclear power stations. Best post in this thread..
  17. Did the 256K encode of the Glasgow set ever get put out minus the stupidly over-the-top brickwall limiting? It sounds like total shit compared to the original, un-raped 128K release. I don't understand how anyone could think it sounded better.
  18. From www.jameshyman.com/blog/archives/MTVDanceLibrary.doc PZ/0243 Party Zone with Autechre - Digital Master This is an MTV interview from about August-September 1994 - I saw it when broadcast, don't remember much about it apart from Sean and Rob talking about their upcoming Gescom project (this is a few months before the first Skam release) and also that they were wearing unfeasibly baggy trousers.
  19. vinyl ordered. that's some amazing packaging. debossed rigid slipcase? i almost don't care if the album turns out to be gash (i really didn't like quaristice very much at all), i just want that object.
  20. A genius, the best electronica artist ever to come out of the European mainland. Or anywhere outside of the UK, infact. I'm still looking for a good rip of Telestatt, or an original 12" that costs less than a few hours with a middle-aged prostitute.
  21. 22. took me a while to figure out that the chords in the autechre remix really remind me of "the devil is in the details" by boards of canada. dunno if anyone else can hear that
  23. Autechre - Fwze, Rob Da Bank, Radio 1, 28 Jan 08 (spin to exactly 30:00)
