  1. Dude i don't know what a feckin stem even is... as for this usb malarky - just noise to me My biggest gripe is my usual now-i-got-to-design-my-own-new-releeae-t-shirt-because-warps-sucks
  2. ae's Oversteps "known(1)" kinda gives me the same cold feels - this time the melody is a bit jarring !
  3. @joyrex I hinted at this early on in the thread, but I have it in my head that soundmurderer - todd osborn - has this as a 12". I guess off Rich but maybe he's got the fast-track to Tom? anyone able to reach him? also had a thought - just imagien they were on the new album and this Wenderlon track was part of the archive that we didn't know about? Zero chance but hey-ho.. nice to dream
  4. Very agree with you there - its grating/jarring percussion-wise
  5. Was at that gig... smallish crowd and amazing sound.... totally blown away. Acid madness
  6. Went and had a relisten to Damogen first time in ages - nah - just too bombastic with the melodies often too screechy for my ears. Its hard work - but again, his live show of this was decent.. maybe a mastering/sound thing? But sill i don;t enjoy the dark mood of the whole thing.. the name and vibes make me thnk "this is what Kilngons would listen to at an orgy" Ufa - I'm a bit more ok with than I remember.... Exstatic Shock does not get enough love.. The Metalllurgist and Drax too actually
  7. Lets give it up for the fantastic Hitsonu track.. i fucking love this tune a LOT - very "Numbers Lucent" compared to the rest of the album. Its the clapps for the last section, the driving medlody and squelchy percussion,,, the supermario noises and playful jaunty narative.. Reallyt love the end as well as the melody breaks down - quite emotional. Perfect little track
  8. He ended Warp20 with that - and there was much rejoicing
  9. Wendorlan at 33 1/33 speed is very decent - AFX/Men records + Ufabuluum vibes
  10. Wrap ypour faces around one of the first (only?) Venus17 outings - partial set - one of his best "You possess the knowledge" - Tom Jenkinson
  11. s16 gets generally sub-favourable rep.. but i think its a super solid output... really nails a lot of amazing melodies/percussion and mood here. A selection indeed. Waiting for 1-15!
  12. There's the albums - which all have their gems.. even Shoba! Then theres his live sets - expecially when he brings out the classics in betweeen the newer mayhem. The man does not hold back and while he mostly plays tracks live straightup .. when he does tweak them, slow stuff down, mess with the EQ etc, slapps a bass riff over them.... he does sit so well and deftly and I really love it when he gets the crowd going with his passionate shout-outs
  13. Had another listen to Ufa the other day... the main thing wrong i think is the hi-end day-glo sound palletr but the structure of most tracks is top pusher.. Unreal Square for example requires a bit of effort to to get through the hig-pitch melody/screeches but the percussive breakdown makes it worth it. 4001 has amazing bass acid and pwercussion but agian its the overall sound "color" that it falls down on a smidge NONE of his early albums had these "issues" .. they started to creep in in Hello Everything i think... and i think BUaH they finally exited stage left
  14. I don't get the GP comparisons. This track while splendid and awesome is nowhere near the towering heights of what he did with the structure, sounds, timings, melody, noise, mayhem of the GP spastic tracks, albeit relentless and driving. To me its a continuumation of BUaH/live-set acid techno.
  15. I LOVE the first 2 but the elephantien creature in the room that nobody mentions is..... The end of aliens is a rip-off of the end of alien. the good ol airlock-suck-out (AvP whch i enjoy'd was the same except it was an Abyss suck-out or something) Not sure how else they could have done it except maybe show the queen detach herself before docking from the dropship to the Sulacco and hitch a ride to Earth orbit - leaving alient3 to have an earth-based-fan-loving start... maybe... anyway its moot Thats my only gripe (alien 4 I liked the first hour - then it goes to complete shite obvs)
  16. Nice catch fairuzosman
  17. "Kill Robok" is very special alright... bouncey ball vibes with that slappy funk Tom brings..here it is in a mix what i made
  18. My dear ol mum was a championship fencer so i alway get triggered by his Damogen live performances
  19. More irish parlimentarians voicing the sheer obviousness of it all.... https://x.com/catherinegalway/status/1750124663408144819?s=20
  20. Yeh - dropping the mask nonsense was also a step forward.... one of his best traits is his gurning and enjoying his own tunage live!.. the irony of it given his talk of this newer stuff coming out of lockdown mindfullness!
  21. Oh hiya - I think I remember you - we raved hard and yoou spotted "Oberlove" - FAB!
  22. Nice interview with Minced Oath who supported Autechre Dublin back in Octover:
  23. From the man himself via warp...here here Tom! For me, the lockdown of 2020 will always stand out as a remarkable time partly for the viscerality of its terrors, but also because of its novel, eerie, sublime silence. It afforded me (and no doubt other fortunate loners) a respite from the incessant distractions that can get in the way of important things such as doing nothing – or recording music. The cancellation of all live commitments meant the prospect of a year's worth of itineraries, airport security, hotels and no sleep was erased, and for some time I experienced a simple happiness not familiar in my adulthood. In a way it reminded me of being a child, where one knows big and awful stuff happens on the horizon but the current moment is a blissful sanctuary. Without customary interruptions, time elapsed differently: Dostrotime. I recorded extensively during that unusual period and went on to use some of that material as the basis for the rescheduled live shows of '21 &' 22. These events were remarkable for their tangible atmosphere of jubilation that lockdown was over and this album is indebted to the exhilaration of those shows. It is an attempt to capture the peculiarity of music catalysed by lockdown being part of the celebration of lockdown's demise. Tom.
  24. Yeh even his damogen live sets were incredible and im not into that album - im looking at you Day For Night - tore it up! But fuck me his vic acid set in Primaversa 2022 was unreal.. relentless, pounding acid/jungle assault. As far as I can see he LOVES his USA outings - coachella vodka set, Boston "You posess the knowldedge venus17 set".. so crrossing my fingers for a US tour for you guys
  25. After hearing the whole track "I AM down with the underground.... the hardest music on the motherfucking planet" Sign me up!
