  1. Just peeped ma mans website for the first time in a while, its packed with some fun and new art http://www.ceephax.co.uk/ Something to hold us over until the album
  2. i assume youre referring to jean-michel jarre - amazonia? i just checked it out and imo the two are not at all in the same vein, other than they both use forest samples. the jarre stuff is more emotionally direct and with a cinematic-ambient edge. while rse is more abstract in its mood/tone, and owes more to dub in its structure (especially 'snake head cemetary')
  3. If you reach out to the label / artist with your order # there is a chance theyll hook you up with a download code. Sometimes vinyl comes with a printed download code, not sure about this label tho I've also pirated the digitals from an album I bought physically without remorse, but that is less kosher.
  4. This is sounding super lush. I got a sub since last listening to RSE, and damn... everything from this project puts it to good use
  5. I really enjoy this classical music show, Tafelmusik, on NTS https://www.nts.live/shows/francesco-fusaro
  6. Chiastic Slide is for me one of the examples of a perfect track order in their discography. Each track is such a contained world, often with intro and outro, so jumping to a new vibe on the next track (as it is in the original tracklist) works really well there. And thus, cipater>cichli are too similar to be right next to each other in yours for my taste. Your Alt Draft kinda works for me, in particular those first 3 tracks worked better than I had expected.
  7. I just moved from Mexico City back to downtown Seattle (i'm from this area originally). In some ways it felt like moving to baghdad or something - the sidewalks and bike lanes are littered with glass here, and encampments and passing needles on the street are a daily occurance. Mexico City could at least pay people to sweep the streets and keep the city put together on a day-to-day basis. Not that menial jobs are the solution, but I feel like easy-entry work to get people to at least feel like members of society (along with of course free physical and mental healthcare) would go a long way.
  8. regarding the date questions, its pretty clearly a date in american format, cant really see it referring to anything else> april 14 2021. this freeka tet person who posted it resides in nyc so that would make sense as well. either way in the end we seem to be left with trolling
  9. not gonna lie im a little disappointed a drukqs repress wasnt on the menu today..
  10. The first preview track Walls of kyoto is really nice. Looking forward to hear the rest
  11. *Jots it down. I'll have to check those out Re: the Ch Vox press release, i find it odd that the writer is critical enough to call Hive a weak spot on the album, when that is my favorite track from that one
  12. Below is Ch Vox Redux press release; I dont think theres a longer story per-se, but this is new info on how that album came about and why it was on Rephlex Seefeel’s third studio album was recorded for Richard D James and Grant Wilson-Claridge’s Rephlex label, as as a return favour for two remixes Aphex Twin (a huge fan of the group) did in their Too Pure period. This is the first time it has been available on vinyl since 1996 and adds an extra LP of bonus material, mastered from original DAT transfers by Stefan Betke aka Pole. Comes housed in a new gatefold sleeve by the Designers Republic.“Mark Clifford and his mates have moved through labels like Astralwerks and Warp before landing at the front door of the Richard James label Rephlex, and along the way they have scattered some wonderful pearls. For (CH-VOX), it's an especially lush match of aesthetics -- sort of a condensed version of the Aphex Twin landmark record, Selected Ambient Works II. Picking up at the tail end of Seefeel's last album, Succour, we once again hear "Utreat," a dark meditation of phrases that makes Darren Seymour's bass sound like an electric piano, or is it Clifford's electric piano that sounds like a bass? Sarah Peacock's dreamy vocals hover almost out of earshot, and possibly her guitar is plugged in somewhere, too. It's difficult to say with many of their songs what instrument we're hearing, since treatments and effects play such a major role in production. The song "E-HIX2" breathes like a cluster of bleak skyscrapers with an extremely ambient take on feedback, and the title cut, "CH-VOX," is stark, patient, and ominous -- an abandoned submarine frozen in ice. "Hive" (with wonderful vocal loop effects) has Clifford revisiting his somewhat limited palette of percussion -- a piece that teeters between beauty and agitation, and an unfortunate weak spot for the album. The album closes with "Net," which is nothing short of masterpiece -- a journey, a drive through wet streets at midnight, and a finale so captivating you'll want to hear it twice -- somewhat postponing the disappointment that the album is only 33 minutes long.” - Keir Langley, All Music
  13. Looks like we missed that single in the thread title, that will be first vinyl issue of those versions, which were recorded around their most recent tour (2019, thus their titles indicating 'spangle 2019' and 'gatha 2019'). The vinyl reissues have just the original album versions of those tracks, plus bonus discs of what i assume will be b-sides and contemporaneous unreleased material. And the other bonus tracks on the EPs compilation are the Ae remix and an unheard Statethrough (Transition mix). So no aphex remixes.
  14. This is massive. I think St / Fr / Sp will feature the first vinyl pressing of Autechre's Spangle remix? That has always been a special track, sounds like a lost twin from Selected ambient works 2. Crap, i want to buy all of this but that would be a bit much.. The cd set is a great value, too bad it would just be a physical artifact as I don't even have a cd player right now lol.
  15. New thread time? This is massive!! 2 bonus LP's worth of material incoming on the redux versions of Succuor and Ch-Vox, and new pressing of great rarities and EPs. And an ae-eps style cd box set treatment
  16. imo, this single starts off okay but then tries to mix in bro-step and quickly becomes an over-spiced mess. i was a huge fan of his stuff back in the day, but everything post foley room is a very mixed bag to put it nicely. the figueroa record was actually refreshing in that it didnt try to be everything at once.
  17. Hell yes! I recognize the name from the roots of chicha compilations but this is all fire. In the description "Prepare yourself for a guitar groove you won’t soon forget. ". Damn, read that 'Ranil' passed away just last year, RIP
  18. I'm already impatient and want to listen to the full thing!! 2 more months why ? probably so they can manufacture the physical media and all.. and i know it was a pre-order but still. Hopefully Andy is making a classic ceephax video to build hype in the meantime.. pls
  19. whoops lol, it was literally just my error on fs/bs. it has obviously been a while. youre right bs is the easy one here and the only one i ever got to doing
  20. did you get fs crooked first? i remember back when i used to skate fs crooked came naturally from fs noseslide but i never even really worked up to backside
  21. I've also been listening back and Faith in Strangers is still the strongest album imo The first two tracks are such a great start; Time Away builds tension and then Violence picks it up and sounds like it is bursting at the seams. The album has great flow throughout. How it Was might be my favorite stott track. Damage is the only track that nearly misses the mark for me. But then Faith in Strangers totally redeems it with that raw bass line that flows through the body.
  22. Cichlisuite is also packaged as a pair of 12" releases, and they look slick
  23. Regarding this new bigbrain reaction.. I'm all for it. BUT the black circular background makes it almost impossible to tell what it is. I had to go to the big brains thread to see a larger version to be able to identify what/who. Imo it would be much better if it were just a clean cutout of the head
