  1. Eric Archer has perfboard projects for some of the TR-808 voices. I built the kick drum a few years back. The point to point wiring was kind of insane but fun.   3. Yeah, harder to fall into a consumerist trap with Max.
  4. It's worth it if you a) have a clear idea what you want to achieve and b) have the hours to put into it.
  5. Just play in a band with a drummer if you hate the grid so much.
