  1. they should go back to something more amber-esque (but not exactly this lol)
  2. global communication - 76:14 10/10 on first listen bvdub - the art of dying alone 8.5/10
  3. I heard the quality of metal tapes is really good. Can you use em on any tape deck? You can, but I'm not sure wether it'll improve the quality on a normal tape deck. Mine's got a switch for the tape type, metal tape has other bias and equalization requirements.
  4. Finally got the reissue of Not For Threes, OI is a pretty nice track. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARvMyPV0lQM
  5. Didn't know that one yet, but October Language is nice. "Tour EP", is that sort of a live ep?
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sCyBNlkivwE The most beautiful sounds I've ever heard. This one's by deathprod, not biosphere btw. The whole album is great (and very pretty, check out warp - warble) and so is deathprod's work, albeit quite dark.
  7. Nice posters! And what's the leftmost keyboard thing?
  8. So there's a bunch of people in this thread saying that melodic autechre is not true autechre or something?

Haruki Murakami - South of the border I read another book of him and I've seen the Norwegian Woods (noruwei no mori) movie, really great writer.
  10. You can hear the hip hop beats through the jazz. Kinda cheesy if you ask me. Obligatory jazz video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5bbRl5scHYw
  11. Yeah, works like a charm, especially with metal tapes. My dad used to have an equalizer that looked very similar (at least I thought so when I was 10 yrs old) but he probably threw it away.
  12. I thought that was half the purpose of this thread haha. Anyway, here's my "studio":
  13. You should try The other people place - lifestyles of the laptop café, I believe drexciya was involved in that. One of my favourite albums. In other news: espen eriksen trio - you had me at goodbye 8/10, a bit simple but very well thought-out solar fields - earthshine 7/10, not what I'd expected but nice, needs a few more listens tee & company - spanish flower 9/10, just two tracks but wow HIA - colourform 9/10, of course HIA & Biosphere - birmingham frequencies 7/10 ufomammut - idolum 7.5/10
  14. I'm really digging Sleep Walker at the moment, especially their piano playing. And the Nobukazu Takemura edition of Shibuya Jazz Classics, for more japanese jazz goodness. Anyone else got some nice j-jazz suggestions?
  15. I get the same, noone ever figures out how this ball is supposed to move the cursor. Luckily my laptop's got a trackpad (hehe). Found this on the Doepfer site:
  16. jasondonervan, I see you're using a trackball mouse :) I'm currently using this one and as a child we always had a logitech with a thumb ball. I never want anything else. I'll post a pic as soon as I've set up something again...
  17. This is just one great big album recommendation thread. slowdive - souvlaki 8/10 the other people place - lifestyles of the laptop cafe 9/10 nobukazu takemura - childs view 7.5/10 higher intelligence agency - freefloater 8.5/10 comus - first utterance 9/10
