Slacker - What Would I Do With Saturn (Lobster Theremin)
Soloman Tump replied to dcom's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
Ah ok, thanks for confirming. Always confusing when new artists turn up using already established names. For example there is Shackleton, and also Sam Shackleton. Shackleton's real first name is also Sam, which makes is doubly confusing. I have loads of the "Jukebox in the Sky" Slacker-era output, great tunes from that period.- 4 replies

Slacker - What Would I Do With Saturn (Lobster Theremin)
Soloman Tump replied to dcom's topic in New & Upcoming Releases
Interesting, looks like a different Slacker than I was thinking of https://www.discogs.com/artist/5511-Slacker Because Shem from that Slacker died a while back. This was house/techno output, very nice stuff. The Lobster writeup mentions d&b so I'm assuming it is completely different project?- 4 replies

how do you actually create full songs with hardware?
Soloman Tump replied to cboyardeat's topic in EKT General Discussion
I have an eBay purchased cheapo 2nd hand 4 track that records MP3 to a compact flash card Although I tend to mix and record everything as separate layers then paste them together in a daw afterwards with field recordings. Either audacity or flstudio. I try and do minimal editing afterwards. I really don't do precision or musical theory at all -
Listening now, nice tunes so far. Sounds like some of the stuff Polypores was doing with his Chaos Blooms and Tempus albums (but he uses modular instead of coding) I'm keen to know how you program the organic elements into this work - I know very little about live coding but I enjoy a bit of chaos theory, universality, complex systems, space-time intermittency and all that.

I have GAS for a lofi looper that's noisy and unpredictable. I don't know if it will be annoying to work with or whether it will be fun and quirky.

This is a remarkable % of people in the UK with vaccinations, I love it. Yet still cases are climbing, 23000 new today (23 deaths). I guess this will eventually drop off as everyone is either vaccinated, has covid, or is dead.

"Fire in my heart" is one of the songs I sing (badly) to try to get my kids to sleep. Sometimes, it works.
