  1. Oh right, well that's good news for anyone not jumping on them right away... With the bandcamp now up and running, at least high quality digital versions will be available for most releases, even if their physical equivalents have sold out. Yeah, the wording on the Bandcamp site is a little ambiguous. But pretty much anything where they've indicated they are "retail" CD editions and shipping "early" I think you can safely assume they will also be available in other stores. I'm guessing the stickers and label exclusives though. And I agree its good to finally have high quality digital editions of these available label direct. :)
  2. There's only 50 being sold on the Bandcamp site. They'll be available in greater quantities later at other retailers.
  3. Why aren't we allowed to have a remastered Blue Room in it's full 39'38" version? Someone please make that happen. No-one wants the damn radio edit again.
  4. didn't you just tell me it's KW on only one track? Yup, and I stand by that. I said "sort of Kraftwerkien". How else do you want me to quickly summarise the sound on this thing without posting my entire review (which I haven't finished writing)? No-one else bothered to reply yet. I suppose you could just say it's a minimal, Raster-Noton style take on the different genres. There's only one song that sounds almost exactly like Kraftwerk and in my opinion that's "Pop". And it's great.
  5. I liked Liedgut but wasn't particularly enamored with Winterreise. Personally I'm loving Pop HD. Uwe has started to release everything under the name Atom™ now, rather than one of the fifty-five thousand other pseudonyms he has used in the past. Pop HD is basically a step from his Pop Artificielle release as LB, but with new tracks rather than cover versions (except for the cover of The Who's 'My Generation'). Every track is a sort of Kraftwerkien take on a particular style of rock or pop.
  6. There's one track on there that is, but that's all. Other than that I think this is a fine release.
  7. Note how someone with zero feedback mysteriously bumped the price up with about thirty bids. Suspect.
  8. Having heard this about four times all the way through now, I still prefer Oversteps, which remains probably my favourite Autechre album.
  9. Okay, now I'm understanding all the love for disc two. I was obviously too tired last night to appreciate it fully. I even love 'runrepik'.
  10. Damn it! All this talk about keyosc made me go into the iTunes Japan store to listen to the sample... now all I know is that I HAVE TO HAVE IT!
  11. Just finished the second disc myself and am getting the impression that I'm not appreciating it as much as I should after the sheer assault on the senses of disc one. Might start with disc 2 tomorrow morning.
  12. I know I can't access it... bloody crappy internet connection breaking my initial download now I can't get back on Bleep.com to download another copy *grumble grumble grumble*
  13. Because 99% of people are morons. That's why. There's your answer. That is why we are all here waiting for this to leak. 99% of people are quite frankly shit, sorry but it's true... Autechre is one of that very delicate 1%. This is why we MUST preserve this very delicate music ecosystem and not abandon it for mere petty reasons such as popularity. FUCK what is the point of dignity when dignity is only relevant if you want approval from the majority. No one gives a damn, and rightfully so. Why should they. HOW DARE YOU SUGGEST THEY SHOULD. You are probably a WARP SPY trying to make us all apathetic and indifferent towards this music to save your ass a pretty penny. Pathetic. Best not to feed the obvious trolls. :)
  14. In particular, the steel slipcase is a work of sheer genius. There's little in the world of packaging coupled with graphic design and typography that can top it.
  15. Oh I agree that it's no doubt quite clever, but like the album itself I just don't get it and find it aesthetically hideous. MInd you, I'm probably biased as I had to return two copies of the bloody thing because the metallic inks were splurged and smudged all over the place.
  16. Nearly wet myself at this - thanks. Well, okay, so perhaps my post was a bit of a troll, but it puts any take I have on Exai into context so that you serious Autechre people (and no, I'm not being sarcastic) know what perspective I have on this. For instance, 'Oversteps' ranks as my second favourite Autechre release of all time, is one of the finest records I have ever listened to in my life and I'm reasonably happy with the 1110 word review I wrote to help promote it. I think it's on the strength of that release that I'm so excited about this one. Although I really did mean it about the 'Untilted' album cover. Just look at it. I mean... really?
  17. Damn... I stupidly listening to those samples. 30 second clips are just uber-terrible and give you absolutely no idea what a track is really going to sound like. They never have. And these are only from disc one. No idea what to expect from Exai overall now, especially with the anomalous, almost ambient 'Tess xi' thrown in there. By the way, I also don't like Untilted. It's an hour-long ice cream headache. Actually... I HATE it, all the way down to that cover art, which has to be one of worst album covers I've ever seen.
  18. Oh yeah, so it has... scratch that then. Christ I must be getting old if time is flying like this now!
  19. Funny - this is exactly my experience with Autechre too. I was completely done with them when Confield came out, after finding Chiastic Slide too obtuse for my taste at the time. And yet I've listened to the two tracks that have been made available so far and I too have liked both of them. Joyrex is quite right, in my opinion: they are definitely more "difficult" Autechre tracks, but there are complex melodies there that make them, for me, far more enjoyable. This is why I loved Oversteps so much, and subsequently went back an re-evaluated my opinions of Quaristice as well. I was worried when Exai was announced seemingly so soon after Oversteps/Move Of Ten, but now I'm just really excited and can't wait to hear it.
  20. Weird. I'm sure I listened to samples of these when they were first released on vinyl and obviously didn't find them all that interesting, because I never ended up order either. When I got the email about the release of the 2CD version I went back to Modern Love's website and streamed the releases via their Soundcloud plugin and I'm wondering what on earth I was thinking. Will be picking up this 2CD version for sure.
  21. I'll probably be proven wrong, but I have this weird feeling there will be further twelves forming a small series of releases.
