  1. Oh you reckon it's been pre-listed but not actually made available yet? It's so hard to tell with that site. I think they make pre-orders available to mailing list subscribers first too right?
  2. Oh really? Fair enough then. To be honest, this sounds pretty cohesive to me (more so than Faith in Strangers, for example) and I always think of Passed Me By and We Stay Together as albums, especially after the expanded CD editions. Oh yes, you're right. They called it a "doublepack" at the time. I'll just shut my cakehole then. Great EP this, though. His best stuff in quite a while. We're spoilt having this and a new album in the new year.
  3. I know right? Just call it a damn album. It’s eight tracks. How is this not an album but a diminutive travesty like Demdike Stare’s “Passion” is?
  4. It’s precisely for this reason that I haven’t actually listened to this album anywhere near as much as I’d want to.
  5. If it helps, you’re not alone here. Rest Proof Clockwork does nothing for me either, save one or two tracks. If the universe gave me a choice between it and Not For Threes, it’s Threes every time
  6. Have to agree, particularly with regard to Recall. I'm hoping, however, this is once again just Warp doing their usual thing of only previewing what in their opinion are the most "edgy" tracks first (much like Ghostly International always pick the most tedious ones) and that the actual album will be much better than this initial impression. Also: go here and fiddle with the odd interactive for a free download of Maru.
  7. Oh you're right! I didn't even pay attention to the tracklisting on the Boomkat website. It has quite a few exclusive tracks on it. Nice! :)
  8. I'm not entirely sure what the relative silence says on this forum other than perhaps (and that's a big perhaps) this is a more emotionally and musically challenging release than the vast majority of Autechre's output. It's certainly on a par in terms of duration - or at least very nearly. Seven discs for this. But as a journey it has most certainly been more diverse, more challenging and more difficult. I agree with you about Stage 4, sounding shockingly random and overwrought as it sort of did at the time. But I think this is why James wanted us to consider the project of this six part series as a whole, not as individual parts, that progressed over time. Stage 4 is utterly terrifying, confusing... nonsensical. A confused jumble of memories, emotions, experiences and dissonant feelings. Stage 5 took those elements and built on them, whereas Stage 6 is exactly what I thought it would be... a haze of dark, drone-like blurrings of the past. It breaks the fourth wall with a funereal scene at the end. It's breathtaking.
  9. YES!!! This is what I thought the last stage was going to be like. All droney and cavernous ambience. :)
  10. Nope. That's a free album that just went up on bandcamp! Everywhere, an empty bliss by The Caretaker Caretaker deluge!
  11. back in stock https://www.redeyerecords.co.uk/vinyl/104634-fflp001-e-r-p--afterimage Fantastic - thanks!
  12. Have heard the whole album already on YouTube. It’s pretty damn good. If you like electro anyways. ?
  13. I missed out on this too. They definitely underestimated demand for this.
  14. Indeed! Considering they’re never going to have to fill a huge room in my case their smaller size seemed a good fit. I too was impressed at how good they sound for their size. I also auditioned some Totems at the time (along with some of Rega’s own rather dreary sounding floorstanders) and preferred these too. But I would heartily recommend ANY of Rega’s turntables. No frills, sure, but it’s what they do best.
  15. Not that I post around WATMM much anymore (so I'm not sure why anyone would care) but I've had a traditional hifi system for many years now. I started with an all Rega system and have stuck with it for many, many years because of the lovely analogue sound their kit has. It's been upgraded many times (the components hold their value quite well, so reselling to fund upgrades is an easy win). Current system for living room listening is: Amplifier: Rega Elicit-R CD player + DAC: Rega Saturn-R Turntable: Rega RP8 Cartridge: Rega Apheta (the original, not the 2 listed at that link) Photo stage for turntable: Rega Aria Digital streaming: Sonos Connect hooked up the Saturn-R's DAC Speakers: Kudos X2s Next upgrade will be to switch out the Sonos Connect for a better digital streaming transport so I can play my lovely Autechre 24 bit WAVs properly. The Sonos is incredibly outdated and sounds dreadful compared with any of those other sources.
  16. Yeah, i think they absolutely are. In fact I kept expecting violvoic to shift into 48:00 of Nagano for a while for some reason. I tried to find an AE_LIVE where it shifted from something like the second half of violvoic into it, but no luck. Guess it's all in my head. What do you remember? They definitely are. They were doing this with elseq 1-5 as well.
  17. I think almost everyone's sleeves look like that. Possibly it's to do with the black foil they used on them, in combination with the thick card stock. That might be one of the reasons they've printed them differently for the repress (and also didn't check the saturation levels, as the new sleeves have come out light grey rather than black).
  18. RaeR version Did you send back the whole set, or just the records? Hehe. Actually I didn’t send anything back. After i sent the videos they told me not to return them. Again, good customer service there.
  19. this is great news. i reached out to them and am currently in the process of photographing and documenting all of my warped discs. did you do this as well?I did. In fact I sent them videos in the end as they replied and asked very nicely if I wouldn’t mind, as it would help them gauge the scope of the problem.
  20. This just in - my replacement vinyl discs (all 12) arrived today. Flat as a pancake this time thank goodness, and the pressing is exceptionally good. Just a heads up though - while I wasn’t expecting them to necessarily send replacement sleeves, they have done. They are, however, not the same sleeves as before. They are on lighter stock and don’t have the black embossed foil. Not a complaint as I’m currently attempting to flatten my existing ones anyway. Bleep really came through on this. Their customer service was excellent as always.
  21. Just got an update from Bleep Support (which, I have to admit, is pretty damn good for the most part). Apparently Warp are aware of the issue and working on a "replacement programme". So the scale of the problem is clearly such that they're looking to replace units on a large scale.
  22. Someone has to digitalize their vinyl and upload it. I'm curious to hear if there really is a difference other than the inferior sound quality that comes with the outdated format Ooh, snap.
