    i believe if something is real it can be tested. it's that simple. er, well, it's not that simple. sometimes a method for testing doesn't exist yet, or may never exist. in this case i see there being nothing more difficult about testing some of these claims than any other type of experiment that happens in a lab every day. the manufacturers of these cables and other even more ridiculous audiophile artifacts actually claim that their products are the product of their own scientific research. which involves what? some degree of scientific testing. then those same people turn around and balk at the idea of those cables, allegedly the product of science, being tested scientifically. i'm sorry but i think not being strongly suspicious of this qualifies one as a rube. 100% btw i'm specifically talking about cables and certain other things which are having ridiculous claims about improving audio with words like 'euphoric' and one hilariously absurd example in this randi incident- 'danceable' being thrown at them. i'm not saying there are no benefits from any type of hardware. a cable isn't going to make a difference between good like everyone is used to and 'euphoric'

    it's pretty crazy looking at some of the spots on the internet where the 'audiophiles' who buy things like those cables coagulate and seeing the kind of things they say and are into. the type of language etc gets very similar to some of the blatantly phoney alternative medicines, or psychic gurus, or any other sham. which makes it totally fitting that amazing randi has been calling this part of the industry out by offering a cool mill to anyone who can prove that this or that audio cable sounds any better than another. and of course the people who have motioned towards getting that mill end up flaking out just like most of the 'psychics'.

    probably shouldn't post this. it's a still life i was doing as practice and think i'm going to abandon because i messed up and don't think i can fix it, but i think i did ok with the first glass piece (it is a bit lopsided and could use more blending) considering it's the first or 2nd time i've tried to draw a thing in maybe 10-15 years. i think this thread partly inspired me to try to do some arty things again, so i got some oil pastels. hopefully i can actually finish something good eventually to post, but it's baby steps for now..

    pattern the idea of retconning the alien(s) series so that 3 and the other one which i've never watched and basically refuse to, never happened, is a good enough idea that i think it nullifies anything else about it that may have been shitty

    i feel like its a shame that some of the big huge 'fat' analog sounds you hear on this album seem to have been totally abandoned by ae, maybe with some rare exceptions. instead most of their sounds are cold, metallic, precise, etc. yet i think it'd maybe be cool if they had a nice combination of both going, have those two types of sounds juxtaposed. anyway yeah i think this might be in my top 3 or 4 also.

    lol that beard is so gnarly. it really does transform his face into a flat geometric shape i didnt fully realize it until TF described it in words anyway imo the only thing to worry about now, is that this comes out and its really just a bunch of Die Antwoord tracks with them rapping about ZEF over CW compilation

    misterE surprise prediction- turns out we're all ghosts but *think* we're alive haunting a forum that's actually about conspiracy theories but our really old ghost minds have become warped and we deluded ourselves into thinking its main focus is on something else we liked before we died, because we regretted being so absorbed in those theories while we are alive but every now and then one will slip through

    fuckin weird man. its like half saw-esque torture porn movie, half fps that looks like quake 2 gameplay with modern graphics it's starting to seem kind of (pretty fukin) weird/ridiculous that you can control a guy who takes hundreds of bullets which don't kill him in these games the physics and all that stuff are being made to be more and more realistic. but yet, you can take a hundred bullets to the head and as long as you pick up a 'healthpack' between each one, ur OK

    good thing we have the capitalist justice correction policing agency in here to determine if someone might be making too much money off of a transaction for a thing they made, that doesn't involve anyone else except up to 16$ (about the price of a digital album), except the person who owns the physical artifact itself. especially when the people complaining would probably gladly take 13G for the record if it was theirs. maybe we should get rich to show us the past few years of his tax documents to figure out what would be OK for him to get from this?
