  1. It's very similar to the bassline in Burnin' if I remember well. Plus the acid sound a that precise moment of Zunker sounds a little bit like some Daft Punk acid sounds. That bit picked my curiosity as well at the first listen ^^
  2. Robert Crumb - My Troubles With Women epic
  3. edit : Zunker is playing right now and I find it sexier than what I've heard previously. And I don't know if Babar was speaking of this one a few pages before but I definitely hear a Daft Punk vibe here I don't know if that's partly for me, but anyway I honestly don't know other artist that sounds like The Tuss. I'm not familiar with the latest things released at Rephlex and as I understood it was a kind of trend lately so that might be the reason. But The Tuss sound is extremely recognizable and I think I would be a little disappointed even if afx himself would go for another tuss-sounding album or ep next.
  4. How it sounds to my ears so far What I hear reminds me The Tuss a lot (I know a lot of people doesn't seem to agree but common, you can't deny the use of the cheesy analogue sounds brings that kind of tussy atmosphere), but not in a good way IMO, like he understood how to make tuss-like sounds but kind of standardize the music. Like "here's a nice vintage bass line with some shaker in the background ; ok, eight measures have past, let's add a high pitched pad, and in a few seconds let's bring the beat". It seems kind of automatized and polished. That's even more embarrassing for me because the only reference I have (the only thing with which I can compare what I'm hearing) is The Tuss, and I suppose everybody here will agree that The Tuss is nothing about standards. It has that experimental thing that makes every measure of the song a potential drastic change of atmosphere. I don't find it's unpleasant, but I imagine me listening to that better in the background of a party or in a concert than on my own at home. Once more I need more time to decide but here's the first thought. Also, I'm sure I'm bad influenced by having too much read that - indeed - shitty thread
  5. At least this album creates reactions.. Didn't hear it yet, I'm not a big fan of what I've (quickly) heard from Monolith before that but I'm still curious.
  6. Yeah I agree this is surprising. Even more surprising because the electronic music spot in that library is relatively small, and it also contains a lot of shitty discs.
  7. well I'm not sure I used the right word. In french we use the word "bibliothèque" = "library" for describing the place you go for borrowing books / music / movies. That's the same in english right ? Anyway yes, the city where I live has a rather big library and I found this album. The cover and the name seemed IDM so I gave it a try ^^ they also had the recent Ae EPs collection. Sweetness
  8. Well I'm glad to read that thread because some days ago I completely randomly borrowed 0000 from the library and it seems like I had a good intuition :) Never heard of that guy I didn't listen to it so far but I'm ripping it ( ) right now
  9. I think I'll wait for being, I don't know, like 80 years old for my first tattoo. That way I'll be sure I fully believe in the thing that will be tattooed on my skin.
  10. Yes. Not funny but very good one. That was one of the worst comics I ever bought. Seriously. There's some comics I don't like, some comics I hate and then there's The Incal. hahaha. i agree with this. i'm currently 5/6 through the complete incal collection released recently, and it is indeed a messy incoherent book. i'm sticking with it to the end for the artwork, but the writing is horrible. Come on, what's wrong with The Incal ? It's one of the best science fiction stories I've read. I agree with the fact it's special, but still... The Incal world is just full of funny absurd details, and that's maybe not the field where you're expecting a sci-fi story to go (?)
  11. Yeah I definitely agree with you on the fact hardware is more inspiring. Two years ago I purchased that Electribe which was my first electronic instrument and I was so amazed when I discovered how it feels to twiddle the knobs for real. I mean, I knew how playing with the cutoff and the resonance was like but to do it with the hands is so more exciting. And that's just an Electribe filter. The one of the Monotron is really good but that little knob is a little bit frustrating. The less you use the mouse and the keyboard, the more spontaneous the result will be I suppose. I'm not saying all the electronic music should be like that because the computer gives you something else (a more precise control in the overall maybe?), but every electronic musician should know how it is to play electronic music. I wish I knew anyway (that goes with the classic sound-geek dreams about having a plenty of rhythmboxes and hardware synths) ! edit : oh and thanks for the kind words
  12. Not as much as mine ! But I wanted to participate. The equipment is no so important, right ?
  13. i'd like to post a good studio pic here but the better hardware stuff I have apart from the computer is an electribe one day hopefully anyway some of your studios and equipment are mad fellows, hope you make them work hard
  14. Does anybody know if Bochum Welt is working on something in particular at the moment ? another double album at the end of the year would be....
  15. What about the two Last Step releases ? both are awesome IMO. And sounds very focused compared to his whole discography.
  16. In the latest dream I remember I've done, I was playing a melody I composed to my family and they suddenly look worried and told me that the notes were discording. I was very embarrassed because I actually liked the way it sounded.
  17. lol at the vsnares one
  18. Yeah Handtrow kick ass ! But the end is a little bit too much for me. Just a little bit.
  19. I really enjoyed Hospitality when it came out but the last time I listened to it I found it kind of cheesy. That's a shame because it used to be one of my favourite ones. The ones I prefer are Chocolate Wheelchair and Winter In The Belly Of A Snake. I wish he made a whole album in the verve of Horsey Noises because tracks 2 and 3 raises excellence to my ears. Also, I'm not really into the Detrimentalist and the last album mood. I know he can do more EDIT : the two Last Step albums are also in my top VS list
  20. PS : I did the test with some beyerdynamic DT 990 headphones
