  1. I'm going to see ryoji ikeda this saturday. Are you guys into his stuff?
  2. Have you guys checked out the opal tapes label? It's been the best new musical discovery for me this year. Rob and Sean, huge thanks for taking part in this. You guys have made my week. And of course cheers for all the insanely good music!
  3. What do you think of banksy? Could you please name my waldorf blofeld?
  4. What do you think of James Kirby's various musical output over the years?
  5. You guys played at an open-air music festival in nagano, japan during the oversteps tour. How does this environment suit your live stuff seeing as you're very interested in the acoustics of the venue.
  6. Cipater is my favourite Ae track. The beats transforming and the bassline that comes in halfway through still gives me goosebumps after a million listens. Do you have amy particular memories of making this track?
  7. sean, you said lynch is one of your fave directors, which of his films is your favourite? rob and sean, are you into minimal ambient stuff along the lines of taylor deupree/12k etc...? could you name my my waldorf blofeld and ms 20? huge thanks for being good sports and doing this!
  8. thanks a lot onecaseman. really appreciate that share!
  9. this thread has totally informed me about the inner machinations of dubstep! big cheers to kaini for the tracks. hey, anyone got martyn's "all i have is memories" and wants to upload? love that track on his myspace but can't find it anywhere. evertime i DL it from soulseek i get suburbia instead (great track itself.)
  10. i quite dig this track, there are very subtle changes which are interesting amid the repitition. i'm a big fan of ambient and microsound stuff, so this is cool for me, and it's by far the most minimal, ambient track autechre have ever released. i look at this whole quadrange release as a bit of an experiment, what with all the versions and the way it was released. and this final track is the culmunation of the experiment. also, makes nice reading music! :-)
  11. ahh, cant download the last track, something is fucked up at bleep. wtf!?

  13. telikan, i sent you a PM about those mark fell releases. oh, did you know that line is releasing a mark fell DVD this summer? can't wait for that.
  14. good to listen to samples of every track at that juno site. *drools* some tracks sound like mark fell's recent remixes and tracks on 12k/line, way faster/cut-up than usual snd. similar to his secular musics..... project. other tracks sound like the most sublime snd material i've ever heard!!
  15. yeah, if anyone with a copy of this set could make digital recordings and upload them somewhere i too would be eternally grateful!
  16. i really hope this gets another release as a cd. no turntable where i am :-( and those samples at boomkat are ace!!! if anyone buying the 12"s makes digital recordings and shares via soulseek, i'd be mighty grateful....
  17. I've been listening to quaristice solidly since getting the FLACs last month, and i'm pretty familiar with it now and starting to appreciate it a lot. defo not my fave album, draft and confield just hit the mark for me. but it totally demonstrates the other side of autechre: loose, live , improvised compared to the meticulously sculpted work on preceeding albums. plus, on the run-up to quaristice, lots of people here said how they'd like ae to release a live cd, well this is kinda it in a way.
  18. just noticed on the wire magazine site that the next issue will review quaristice, so looking forward to what they have to say. also, vladislav delay on the front cover....
  19. the keynell remixes record has loads of graphics on the inside of the cover too. if you peer right to the back on the inside of the spine, it says "if youre reading this you are a sad trainspotter"...ACE! reading this thread again has made me want to go home and listen to nuane at a ridculously loud volume.
  20. it's not just autechre, nearly every album that's licenced from a foreign label has a bonus track. i think it's to make it seem worth the price maybe. anyway, it's ok by me.
  21. hmmm, interesting. guess it's only one bonus track, hmv mentioned 2. the only difference i can se in the cover design is the absence of the white square with the barcode. but that's a good thing imho.
  22. i'm in japan, and i'll either be ordering quaristice from hmv or buying it from the local record store. dunno how to get the japanese edition outside japan, but there are probably some places specializing in imports. i'd be happy to upload wave files of the bonus tracks for anyone interested.
