When you look at how good the interface for the megafm is, it really makes you wonder what Yamaha was thinking. i want one. I love the sound blaster

Roll out of Big Sur caused havoc on Mojave/Catalina macs.

I just hate tech capitalism so much. I have a IBM slimline that hasn’t been connected to the internet in 4 years. I use it for renoise and audacity for recording hardware jams. It runs perfectly because I use it for a few simple utilities. This is what a computer should be. Nothing more than a hammer for whatever nail you have. These tech capitalists are in for a rude awakening when the the post-collapse hordes storm Infinite Loop and put Tim Apple’s head on a pike. -

I don’t even know what my Mac is running but it ain’t Big Sur. I’ve been hitting “Later” for years. -
Awesome, thank you. What about editing audio directly in the arrangement view, as shown at 1:55 of the video. This one I really can’t figure

Slightly off topic: I love live 10, but I’ve never edited multiple midi clips at once, or edited audio directly in the arrangement view. I think I tried to figure it out but gave/decided I didn’t need to change that aspect of my workflow. Anyone know how to do this or do it regularly? you can see it in this video at 1:40

I feel like now that I have used suite for a long time, using lite feels nice. It’s still extremely useful. For instance, using lite as a hub for a bunch of hardware would solve all your audio and midi needs. but for me upgrading has always been valuable. The new devices in 10 including integrated M4L basically evolved my style/workflow. the most impactful upgrade though was that 9.5 upgrade in 2015. The analog modeled filters, for some reason, opened up my sound palate more than anything, and helped me go from using 10-15 effects to get my desired sound to maybe 3-4.

Yeah I preordered. Saved like $45 or something.

Yeah you don’t need a filter with FM. velocity mapped to modulator operator level achieves the same thing as filter velocity sensitivity. it’s nice to not think about filters

Reason definitely has better presets on its stock synths. Thor really has some legendary stuff. I remember this one patch called like ambient piano pgm or something that would crash my 2005 MacBook if I played more than a few notes. that said, the ableton stock instruments are just as capable, and probably faster to get results with. The visual feedback in reason probably helps it feel like you have a real instrument under your fingers, but I’ve been patching soft synths for so long now that I prefer the streamlined minimalism of ableton. my most-used instruments are Analog, Operator, and Simpler.
-
I used reason from 2007-2014. Once I actually learned ableton, I got 9 suite and a push, and I haven’t made another song in reason since. ill always love those synths though, and which I could use them in ableton without paying again.

How ridiculous Kanye feels now is about how ridiculous Trump felt in 2015

the delays on superberry, specifically delay B, is my new favorite effect. it's a very uncanny sound that i've heard in lots of early 2000s electronica and i'm wondering if any of the heads can shed some light on that type of smudged delay and some possible options in the dsp realm. it's kind of like a shimmery sound also, but you can't achieve it using a reverb with the lows cut out of the diffusion network. i'm stumped. usually i'm good at replicating effects with stock ableton plugin combinations. i attached a file that has the sound in it.what is this reverb delay sound.mp3

is it ableton live or I am going insane
sheatheman replied to thawkins's topic in EKT General Discussion
If you want random velocity, there are many other ways to achieve that. -
It must be amazing to be at the level of artistry where you can just export 16 loops of a few patterns to fill in the blank space between your handful of feat. tracks. i listened to it the other day when I was building a fence. Happy to listen to Darren when he is at the zenith of his celebrity. so far this is sitting at 7/10 for me
