  1. When you realize boomkat is actually a label trying to sell the music their artists are currently making and not actually a music review site.
  2. They build a timebomb into the firmware that bricks your OT if you cancel your subscription. New feature on all new boxes: direct to Spotify premium pattern export. No song mode though.
  3. Apparently this is the new ceo. This is funny.
  4. Yeah something bad is happening. Ess has been doing cool stuff with Fors.fm
  5. I like 88 ”da, da, da, dadadum, da” where as 120 is more “Do do do do Do do do do” 160 is pretty fast ”bm ts KA bm ts KAH , bm ts KA bm ts KAH”
  6. I’m looking into running sunvox on a cheap refurbished chrome book. It’s insane how deep you can get into synthesis. I’m still learning it but you can pretty much build a 606/808 cymbal from scratch. backmarket has had chrome books for $85 USD, that would be a pretty cool mobile setup. i still like the polyend and am interested in the m8 too. I guess my tracker (renoise) love of 2010-2015 has been reignited.
  7. Man if the M8 can run a braids dsp, I feel like they can pack a little bit more into the polyend. I’m kind of happy as is, but the wavetable mode could def be tuned up a bit.
  8. I hate it when people say “you are going to be hearing this everywhere.” We’ve been hearing weird glitchy effects for 20 years man. And 808 for 40.
  9. Actually it’s as expensive as I thought but still does a lot. oh well, back to building this kind of stuff in ableton.
  10. It seems like one of the best values in fx boxes I have seen. I thought it was more expensive and didn’t know it could do so much at once.
  11. How do you like microcosm
  12. @thawkins I like trolls, I am one, but I was trying to be an earnest gear dummy what you would find on elektronauts.
  13. You can then anti aliasing off, and you can also do a lofi import. also, no chord memory but there is the midi chord effect, kind of similar.
  14. I've had some midi issues, but i think it has to do with conflicting conventions for the 1/8” to 5 pin midi adapters. Once I experimented with a few of the ones I have, I got it working (I have the ones from circuit, cycles, and tracker). the main issue I have now is it’s really hard to get the clock tight for drums when you are clocking with other gear, even with the ext midi clock compensation. I haven’t had time to devote time to figure it out. So in my setup I’m mainly using it for resampling other gear and my voice thru fx. i love playing it. It’s the kind of hardware sampler I’ve always wanted. I like it much more than the digitakt.
  15. in the words of Chet Hanks, "reespect mon!"
  16. Tal noisemaker is a good one stop shop also. But TheBro if you are on ableton suite I have soooooooo many patches I’ve made that are atmospheric. Beautiful
  17. I always use my push for muting and unmuting, arming and disarming, launching, stopping, recording, play/stop, recording/sequencing drums, quantizing and duplicating. i sometimes use it for playing melodic stuff, tweaking parameters, and doing rolls. i never use it for adding effects. I used to and I certainly could still, but I use mouse and keyboard plus my ms2000 as a controller. i am glad I have one but I don’t think I will ever upgrade and don’t think it’s worth $800 at all. I got it when I knew a lot less about ableton. when you’re a power user, keyboard is where it’s at.
  18. In 2015, when I would post a fire track, I used to get 100 likes in one day, 2k plays in a week. Now I get maybe 20 likes in a week, and 100 over six months. I have a few tracks that have had a steady algorithm momentum for the past 6 years, but posting a new track today is often discouraging. so yeah, a lot of enthusiasm has been drained from the user base.
  19. SoundCloud is still maybe the best place to hear current music before you can hear it anywhere else. If you know you know. The community aspect has definitely waned in the past few years, but I’m still having some good convos. i do sometimes wish SoundCloud would have shut down like it was going to. The ads are so much worse now. At least I have Adblocker on desktop
