  2. Yeah when I joined you and Salv were closer to my age than most other people. I remember spending a lot of time looking at Salv's art and your art in the Share Your Artwork threads and it really influencing my own styles & resonating with me. Salvatorin was so creative, it was inspiring just to see it
  3. It really is. It always stuck with me through the years and I'm gutted listening back to it again now...
  4. RIP Salvatorin. You were one of my favorites & I always admired you even though we didn't talk much. You will be missed. This is tragic
  5. I preordered the tape and the orange lp so I hope it is good lol. I always tend to get a bit obsessive about a new OPN album around the time it's released, but some if them stick with me better over time than others. So far I am hopeful for this one, although I hope it doesn't go too much in the hyperpop direction tbh. PS: We'll Take It is a banger
  6. I'm working! So I don't need the $$, but I will definitely be keeping an eye on what folks are publishing! I fucked up and misread the announcement on twitter and bought someone's discography on Wednesday ? loool
  7. Ayy this sounds great! I love how lo-fi the sound palette is. Pre-ordered.
  8. I adore the Love in the Time of Lexapro ep, have been listening to it a lot the last two weeks. It's kind of annoying that the release which includes all of the non-album tracks is some special limited edition thing. I don't understand the point of the "The Station"/"We'll Take It" eps as distinct releases, other than as a cash grab. This album's unnecessary extra eps and drove of needless obscure merchandise -> Age of Excess ...are those pink tombstones I see?
  9. That slow alt version of Avril is nice. I like how different the progression is, it feels extremely pared down. Sounds like the mellower Caretaker stuff... ???
  10. My 3-year-old says he likes 1st 44. But he'll get down on most music. We danced together to Elephant Song #idmtoddler
  11. definitely feeling the old afx sounds. Like in 1st 44 before the incredibly loud dancehall vocal, there's some icbyd style french horn swells (or, that's what it evokes for me). And in general, that track's palette mostly feels very drukqs & run the place red rmx. Pthex also feels like a throwback.
  12. Dude this is brilliantThanks man! I'm just trying to work out the rust. Gonna be making more videos for a while.
  13. Ok. I'm willing to back off. I hear what you are saying Stephen. It's just easy to pick up from some of the sentiments in this thread that folks are shitting on the genre with little to no understanding of it. And it feels like there are some racial undertones when people who are presumably white are shitting on a genre that is predominately black. I have no interest in attacking or belittling you, and I hear that you are saying it is just a matter of taste for you. That's chill
  14. Yeah, I'm with you Drukqs. Dj Nate has some great stuff, and is deserving of respect. In 2010 when I first heard it, and it was my introduction to juke/footwork, I had a WTF reaction, and did not like it. However, in the last couple years, after having followed footwork seriously since 2012, I came back to DJ Nate, and some of his stuff bangs! And he is respected in the community. This is the track that made me take a second try at DJ Nate: Btw, agreed with Goiter that you hit the nail on the head earlier
  15. Cheers. Others, pardon me if I was overly pragmatic. I am always enthusiastic to talk about a genre I love deeply, especially as there's not a lot of deep discussion about it here on WATMM. I feel like it's really hard to have a genuine discussion here without someone making it super negative and snarky.
  16. Yeah, Footwork is best in a mix, because it's built to be used that way. Footwork battles are inherently an exercise in mixing for the DJ. Unmixed there is often some repetition, because the tracks are made to bleed together at the front and back
