This was the response I got from bleep after asking them about the same problem: I was using Bitdefender (not Kaspersky or Avira), but temporarily disabling it solved the problem.

Thank you so much, exactly the kind of comments/advices I was looking for! I'd have instinctively gone for the most recent one, but I didn't know how much the sets differ from each other. Thanks again! I strongly recommend listening to all of them though, they really complement each other and it feels like each is a snapshot of some bigger "thing" from different angles.

drillkicker said it was "the worst thing sam & ron have ever done" or something I think s/he was referring to the way they were released, and not to the music itself.

  5. Ruck 9 is GAS/10. Ruck 10 I'm still digesting, but at least really good.
  6. Finally something correct is posted. ( this was confirmed in AAA. )
  7. Based on the audio samples, I don't think it will be much like Pop.

  9. Agreed. In my circle of friends at least, online and real life, this was the biggest disappointment of an album from an artist we really looked up to, especially after what Come to Daddy and Windowlicker had delivered. I mean, for those who were there, when Come to daddy came out, it was like a revolution. Not only the videoclip, I mean the whole EP. It's the album that turned Aphex into a worldwide legend. And then, Windowlicker came out and took us all by surprise. This was new and fresh and psychedelic and like nothing else out there. Also a big fuck you to the pop industry, which was clever and just right. But then Richard lost his mp3 player on a plane and rushed into Druqks. It was like, what the hell, Aphex is only exploring drum n bass now? No more of that mellow, otherwordly tone? Only mathematical, amphetaminic, cocainoidal faster than fast programming? No more mystery? That's all you have, really? We all thought this was his less original album. It clearly followed a trend. It's like he suddenly was in competition with Squarepusher. With that said, I love many tracks on Druqks and the compositional work on some it is phenomenally complex and wow. Still listen to the album from time to time. With Syro tho, I feel like Aphex released what should have been released following Come to Daddy and Windowlicker. The warm, fuzzy, full of weird vocals, mysterious, offbeat, mind-expanding vibe is back. Apparently, Druqks was a necessary detour to get there. :) I'm honestly not sure if trolling
  10. I think this about all their albums
  11. and wrong :) but yeah it's an incredible track.
  12. I've been listening to Ruck 9 lots, I think it's just as mindblowing as GAS, and surpasses GAS in certain ways (heavy repetition on the surface, constant variation of underlying parameters).
  13. I agreee with you. It has a catchy idea but the track does not have enough depth and longevity.
  14. Great album. Still my least favorite.
  15. Unlocking Draft will truly be a Divine Moment of Truth. Go in peace. If only my Draft cherry could be popped twice.
  16. I wish there was more live soul oddity online besides this 2 min cocktease:
  17. I overrated Demissions when it came out, placing it below but still in the ballpark of Brownout. Revisiting it recently I don't think it's in the ballpark :( due to a few not-so-interesting tracks. Brownout never fades though.
