  1. Yeah, pretty keen. Would love to at least hear the tracks.
  2. Resident Advisor interview is wicked, interviewer really knew her stuff & got in depth. Only complaint is she didn't ask about archive tracks..
  3. Where did you see it...? Is this one of the extra vicsynth test tracks? Hoping they're somehow made available in the UK.
  4. It's my current lead fave in that style for sure. The whole album works for me, there's often a tune that doesn't quite sit right with me even on albums I love, but I the balance on this album is perfect to my ears. Really happy to get some proper brain mangling tunes too!
  5. The 8-bit versions are available to download on his site if you bought it there, I have no idea what the point of them is though?
  6. Andy turner from Plaid was also insane took some snippets of that. The beginning of his set was very Squarepusheresque...
  7. I can't put the gig into words well, but it was way beyond a best of, there was some well known tracks but only a few, & they spanned his entire career (including pre FMWT), but most unreleased & sick. even some mad Japanese pop style madness tune (but it was good). Crowd was ok, but got a bit too mosh pit about half way through which kinda ruined my enjoyment but the tunes were incredible. Got smeared by stinking mosh pit sweat slime though so had to leave the front.
  8. Only recorded a small snippet of last night & it's not the best representation of the gig in terms of tune style which was really broad & went through what seemed like most of his career but, whatever, it's all I've got. Really hope someone recorded the full thing & shares it... The DJ gig was insane, I hope the proper show matches up! Squarepusher_-_Five_Miles.mp4
  9. Just came back from hearing him DJ in London, was killer. About 75% unreleased & unheard in recordings I know of. I think the man is sitting on a pile of unreleased wonder. Saw him at the bar after & tried to politely ask him to make more of this music available. Also Andy from Plaid played a really heavy set , not sure how much of it was his creations but I think most of it was probably his & totally unknown & sick. GREAT NIGHT. Got to wonder how much magic these guys are sitting on that Warp doesn't put out... Rough Trade DJ's were also seriously on point in the other room. Lot's of Warp bangers & wicked weirdness.
  10. Nice, looking forward to this eve in London, hoping the set's a decent length!
  11. Wicked album end to end in my opinion. It didn't all gel straight away for me, but despite some of the really dense parts, it works. The track that I found hardest to get into was Terminal Slam. It's almost vulgarly intense but within the album with it's cheesy beginning, intense middle & chilling end is a mad journey, I kind of think some bits are supposed to be abrasive and grate with their cheer or intensity at points. Love the ambient tracks, 80 Ondula is sick cinematic shit. Album is definitely a grower & up there with Tom's best in my opinion, Hyped to hear more bonus cuts, I want more!
  12. What's the point of the 8-bit version (not sarcasm)? Is it lower or higher quality? I know they used to have 24-bit options on some releases for audiophiles, what's the difference in this case? kinda expecting crunchy old school computer game sounding versions...
  13. Looking forward to Tom's DJ set on Friday in London at Five Miles, will be wicked to hear some of these new tracks nice & loud, plus hopefully some more archive tunes! Got a Plaid DJ set too as support so should be a good night hopefully.
  14. Ha ha, yeah would be great if these unreleased tunes that he drops in mixes get released in their own right at some point, there's loads of them & they all sound wicked!
  15. I think the awesomeness of the NTS mix has been slightly glossed over, that shit is wild. Also it's all unreleased apart from 1 tune & in full crispy quality.
  16. Ha ha, it's got that old sound to my ears. Good to hear opposing perspectives. I haven't really enjoyed the majority of music he's put out recently (even if there are sections of tunes I've enjoyed, the overall collection of tracks & sound hasn't quite connected with me) but I can also hear Damogen aspects to this & enjoy them more in this context. I feel like I've sort of become accustomed to slightly weird sounding mastering on his releases. When I first heard his music it excited me but the levels sounded bizarre. I couldn't initially understand why it didn't seem to have the same impact as most other Jungle / Hardcore / Rave tracks, sort of as if it wasn't trying to be up in your face the whole time. Once I'd adjusted to how different it sounded the music made sense. I kind of feel like each album has a slightly different focus in terms of the mastering & it always takes a bit of getting used to. I agree that Damogen sounded too harsh to my ears but I don't find Be Up A Hello to be tiring.
  17. Decent interview, wicked little insights. I'm an artist so have wondered about what I'd do if I lost the use of my main hand. Sooo tempted to check the leak, think I can handle life without it for a day or so but got my birthday coming up next week & will definitely want to give it a blast...
  18. Mix is wicked, great bonus tracks so far, expecting a killer album even if it includes all the tracks from the mix. Weirdly bleep's listed the mix & bonus track under the name Squarepusher_ with an underscore afterwards. Might just be a mistake...? ....bit weird to change his name like that but maybe related to the Commodore style text on the artwork & site? Love the write up for the album but pretty funny that it doesn't explain the phrase!
  19. What's the going on with being able to buy these tracks in 8bit? Are we getting some Patskin style, crusty Amiga 8bit versions too?
  20. Big up Todd, looking forward to hearing the music!
