  1. I have a ticket to see Tool later this month... and I don't want to go.... I have something that I need to do that week and the concert is sort of interfering. I feel bad about it.
  2. Cool! What seems to be the challenging part? The design might be throwing you off :) By the way, I won't use trampolines anymore for jumps. They're too random. Thank God. I didn't beat that level because I got to the end and had to use the trampolines to get to the flag. I fell and quit because it pissed me off. I told you I don't like trampolines :)
  3. Oh wow! COOL! Congrats, man!!! Thanks a lot. I put a lot of effort into my stages, and I just want people to play and enjoy them. This is good recognition :) Definitely! And this should get you PLENTY of stars ;D So far I've only gotten 3 :)

  5. Awesome! I won the challenge on Destructoid! http://www.destructoid.com/dtoid-designs-mario-at-the-movies-challenge-winners-330632.phtml?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=facebook
  6. Thanks for playing it. I made that stage for Destructoid's monthly SMM challenge, which is "Mario at the Movies" this month. Kill Bill is one of my very favorite films and I think the stage does follow that chapter very closely. The only problem that I have with it is that you really don't have to kill anything in order to pass the stage. I wish you could force players to defeat enemies or bosses before they can advance to the next room. Maybe that will come in a future update....
  7. I'm about to check out your stage right now. Here's the last "real" stage I made: POWer Switch Fortress (0395-0000-0104-4E98) Let me know what you think of it. The one person who gave me feedback said it was too hard and confusing.... The last stage I made was for a Destructoid challenge, but I don't find it to be very fun. I played your stage and it was cool. It was well-designed and the only thing I hated was the trampolines at the end, simply because I hate trampolines. Fun stuff! I look forward to playing more.

  9. I picked up Xenoblade Chronicles X the other day but only played it for about 3 hours. I tried last night after work and fell asleep.... I am not sure I'll be getting into this game. I don't really like/understand the battle system so far. I've spent the vast majority of my time playing Disgaea 5. I've already put 98 hours into it (according to the game clock, but I know some of that time is from just letting the game sit). My favorite thing about Disgaea is the Item World, so I have just been leveling up my weapons and armor, and in turn, my party. I'm in Chapter 10 now, so I'd say the game is almost over. I'm sporadically going back to Super Mario Maker. I haven't had a lot of ideas recently, but the two newest stages I've made aren't really being played. I think the playership has dropped off and new stages aren't being noticed anymore. Not surprising, but disappointing considering the massive amount of plays I was getting during the first month or so. Feel free to play my latest stages: POWer Switch Fortress (0395-0000-0104-4E98) Devil Pyramid 2: Mario Boogaloo (030E-0000-00D7-3FF7) One note about SMM, is it me or do most players not really know how to play Mario games? I'm thinking I play differently than most people, because in looking at the stage maps and the places where players die, I'm rather confused as to how these deaths could happen. Do most people just run right through these stages as fast as they can without looking at their surroundings? No matter what roadblocks or mechanics or gimmicks I put in my stages, it looks like most players overlook them entirely and die because of it. POWer Switch Fortress has a mushroom at the beginning of the stage, and a few steps away is a path blocked by muncher plants that you can't pass. That's where I introduce the mechanic you will use for the entire stage - using POW blocks to clear a path. Most deaths are happening right there at the beginning, as if they're trying to run past these plants and can't figure it out, either not getting the mushroom or getting the mushroom and losing it and then dying because they're trying their hardest to pass an obviously impossible path. The solution is obvious and I even give you two hints as to what to do......... Sorry about the long post.
  10. Today's lunch, Bayou burger from Parish, a Cajun-inspired restaurant. Pretty good, but I have to eat the rest of it in order to truly decide how I feel about it. I wasn't really that hungry and ate less than half.
  11. been playing Dragon Quest VIII just recently but on PS2. it's a great game but slowing down cos Fallout 4 came out. Would love to have it on 3DS but i've already sunk in way too many hours to start again now. DQ8 is awesome. I never finished DQVIII. I got pretty far, I think, and then I started a new job and had to move and never got back to it. I regret that, because if I went back and tried to continue the game, I'd have no idea what was going on or what I need to do. RPGs are so hard to get back into after time passes.
  12. A little bar here called Wagers. I generally don't go to bars, but some guys from work asked me to go along. I can't believe a burger that good was made at a place like that.
  13. The only SMT-related game that I don't have that was officially released here is Persona 1. Well, I don't have the PSP or Vita games because I don't own either of those handhelds, and I didn't buy the 3DS remakes of Devli Survivor 1 and 2 because I have the original DS versions. I can't get enough of these games, though. The Sony disclaimer was necessary because they didn't want parents seeing these games and saying that Sony was advocating "demon worship" or something. I'm glad they don't do that anymore. The demons in these games aren't really even demons most of the time, just beings based on mythology.
  14. Damn, this was a good burger. I had this one last week and had to go back this week to get another.
  15. I didn't find negotiation to be very hard, at least compared to SMTIII. That game made it very hard to recruit demons. I second your excitement for Persona 5. Kind of disappointed that it didn't come out this year like they originally said. Yeah I'm disappointed too, but confident that's because the developing team is making sure it's an ace release! I'm finding negotiation REALLY hard compared to past SMT games. Sometimes you have to answer 10+ questions or whatever to get a demon. Perhaps I'm missing a strategy for negotiating or something? I kind of wish they'd make a follow up to the Digital Devil Saga games though... Glad to see there's another SMT fan here =) I'm not sure if there is a strategy, really. I don't recall having to answer a lot of questions. I gave up a lot of items and money, and that's about it. Got a lot through surrender as well. I have the two DDS games but have never played the second one at all. I never got far in DDS1, so of course there was no point in starting the next game. One day.... I honestly don't know a lot of SMT fans. Most people I know who have played them either hate them or just think they're too hard. I personally think it's the best RPG series around.

  18. Of course the cum splatter was intentional. And that "Banana Split" outfit is fucking ridiculous. I refuse to use that DLC.
  19. Yay for checkpoints in Super Mario Maker! I was waiting for the update before I uploaded any new stages. Put one up this morning: Devil Pyramid 2: Mario Boogaloo (030E-0000-00D7-3FF7) While waiting for the checkpoint update, I've been letting SMM rest and am playing Disgaea 5, which is fun, if not exactly what Disgaea has been about since 2003. Also..... I picked up Onechanbara Z2 the other day because it was cheap, and really, it's not bad. Kinda fun. The combat is fast and fluid, a big change from the X360 Onechanbara. I could do without the blood splatter... I changed the color to white and it looks like cum all over the screen. Not pleasant.
  20. I'm delaying the stage I'm currently working on until we get our checkpoints! What did you think it was going to be, Mario?
  21. The Naraku dungeon is really hard when you don't really have any demons. Have you made it to the boss yet? I got obliterated by him the first time I fought him. I think there are two really hard bosses there, but you pass it, you'll notice the difficulty drop a bit, mostly because you gain access to some good demons and can fuse for the first time.
  22. yay! Spiny King Palace (F79A-0000-00AB-0330) Landfill Blues (F751-0000-0083-3998) Koopa Apartments Demolition (8B85-0000-0074-5AE8) Cerberus in the Bomb Factory (12A3-0000-005B-A8D2) Cubic Cabin Carrier (BEE9-0000-0052-1435) Mansion of Bleakness (7D9F-0000-0040-D8DB) Little House of Savages (89DD-0000-0032-113B) Devil's Pyramid (343A-0000-0029-61C7) snaaaaaaaaap! i will check these later spiny king palace was one of your beest and koopa apartments was my favorite of yours, some intense bits involving the bombs that you made Thanks for playing them. Spiny King Palace took me over a week to make, which is way too long. But I am very proud of it. Same goes with the Apartment stage. I'm very proud of it and the boss battle, but it really isn't being played much. The people who play it don't finish it most of the time :(
  23. I can say that I needed all tanks to beat MM9, but Wily is easy in 10, so I don't have that problem.... But the game as a whole is pretty damn hard.
