  1.

One of my top 15 favourite albums.

Funniest thing is that it's objectively not that good. It doesn't suck but there is one really good track and the rest are just "what the fuck?"

But it kind of reminds me of Nirvana when Smells like Teen Spirit came out: one good track with a bunch of "what the fuck?" but it came out at the right time that made it stand out from everything else. It did a good job capturing the the mood and insanity of being on drugs. The novelty hasn't worn off on it. It's the Ween of IDM.

which one is your "really good track"?

lol I think there's more than one! Mr Frosty probably is my favorite though.

Mr. Frosty and Winner Takes All are the only tracks I really love on this record. Eggy Toast is okay. I just never fell in love with M&R. I do like it, but I don't even remember the last time I listened to it or had a desire to listen to it.

  2. So I waited until the physical release to listen to the record and have been trying to get to know the songs... I don't really have a fully-formed opinion of it yet. With it being slower and more ballad-y than I'd like, I can say that I am sort of disappointed with it, but it's certainly not bad. It's better than The King of Limbs (which I do like), but probably only ranks above it, The Bends, and Pablo Honey.

My favorite tracks so far are Identikit, Ful Stop, and Decks Dark. The only tracks that I really don't have much desire to listen to are Burn the Witch and Daydreaming, possibly because they're the only ones I'd heard before the album.

joined briefly with a terrible/cringey name

if you were "liu kang baking a pie" you should get that name back this instant and wear it with pride

Haha, nah it was a way too easy aphex-related name. Whereas I now have a slightly more clever aphex-related name.

    Pinkey$ ?

She was cool, wasn't she? I lost touch with her quite awhile ago.

  4. Oh, I'm late.

Happy belated birthday. This is the only community on the net that I have ever felt like a real part of. I was 18 when I first happened upon joyrex.com. I'd just graduated from high school. Man, time flies.

Yeah, it has its moments but it isn't that difficult, especially since most Robot Masters are pretty much OHKOs. The dragon actually gave me some trouble though, and that boss in one of Dr Wily's stages that you can only beat with the Crash Bombs was a bit insane!!

@ Ivan: oooh, I think I beat Megaman 3 ages ago but I don't remember! It's one of my faves I think, the OST is awesome!

The US version of MM2 is easy (aside from the Boobeam Trap boss, the Crash Bomb one), but the Japanese version is pretty hard throughout. Not impossible, and nowhere near as hard as the last two MM games, but still hard.

MM3 is a much harder game. Those Doc Robot stages are ones that I still have trouble getting through without the 2nd player controller trick.... In all, I'd say MM1, 9, and 10 are the hardest of the series (honorable mention goes to Dr. Wily's two forms in MM7). Everyone talks about MM games as being very hard, but they're really not that difficult, in my opinion.

yep mm2 has a refinement to it that shines in good game design.

mm3 is fine but gets ridiculous toward the end with the boss rush.

also, mm10 feels like it has poorer design over mm9. much much harder to the point of frustration (for me)...

"Poorer" design, yes, but not "poor." It's a brilliant game throughout. I've said it before, but MM10 is a much harder game than 9 because they decided to ramp up the difficulty of the overall enemy behaviors. 9 wasn't like that. It had a type of difficulty that kept you on alert at all times, but never like "RANDOM ATTACK THAT YOU HAD NO CHANCE OF DODGING UNLESS YOU'VE ALREADY DIED HERE" unlike 10...

  7. there's lag because you age it for perspective for selecting

earth portal is one of the great songs of humanity

xmas eve is from the future of an alternate timeline

people always want things to be the way they used to be. they always want it to do it again.

    Hai.

In my opinion, he probably never has to make anymore tracks ever again because he has already made the two best electronic tracks of all time:

    XMAS EVE

    and

    Synthacon 9.

    My opinion.

  8. I would get the tape, but I guess I'll just go for the CD. The tape is just a curio for collectors, and I wouldn't listen to it in that format.

But I'm going to get one of those t-shirts....

  9.

    No Persona 5 this year...

    https://www.destructoid.com/persona-5-gets-a-north-american-release-date-366504.phtml

At least it will give me time to play Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE... and FFXV, i guess...

with announcing ffxii remaster for next year and ffxv this year i'm kinda losing hope for ffvii remake episode one will come out in 2017 (the 20 year anniversary with easy built in marketing potential).

Yeah, it seems like they're avoiding talking about FFVII remake, but it'll come. I'm not clamoring for it. I'm actually not interested in FFXII HD because I never finished the PS2 version. I couldn't get into it. One day, I will, and It likely will not be the remaster.

    awe man... no p5 =(

It's very disappointing, but I honestly don't have enough time to play all the games coming out at the end of this year anyway, so I am sort of relieved that it's coming next year, because it will be the ONLY game that I'll play to completion when it is released.

  10. Would be cool if he took the tuss to a next level

This is what I'm waiting for.

I look forward to this new EP. I really want some more stuff in the vein of Cheetah3 teac.

  11. I just finished Transistor on PS4. It was a really cool game. The story was kind of hard to follow, and I got tired of all the constant talk from the weapon (not to mention the Owen Wilson-sound-alike at the end of the game), but as a whole, I quite enjoyed it. Was on the short side, though.

I never finished my quest to beat all the Disgaea games, so I think I'll jump back into Disgaea D2 this week.

  12. haha yeah... the biggest asshole however was the probably unchangeable jumping trajectory...

those fuckign stages man D: urgh ..... also doppelganger randomly spawning within you... cool game. once i figured you gain your partner's lives for killing him in mode B i was able to beat it :).

Haha, yeah. A game with terrible jumping controls made you do some of the most ridiculous platforming in history. And yeah, the mode B trick is the only way I've ever beaten that game.

  13. I'm almost done with SMT: IV right now. Just got the final bosses to beat. Was really surprised I got neutral ending since I didn't really look at guides until the end. One of the best turn based RPG's I have played. Probably going to play undertale next.

I got the Law ending. I was satisfied with it. I knew what was going to happen from the start....

I'm looking forward to SMTIV: Apocalypse!

Of course, next up is Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, and hopefully Persona 5 will be out before the end of the year.

  14. in other megaman news y'all see this ?

Keiji Inafune's MIGHTY NO 9 got a new trailer ...

mighty no 9 is being developed by comcept and inti creates

publishing and promotion for the game being handled by Deep Silver.

inti creates CEO on twitter had this reaction ...

sonic the hedgehog twitter account had this reaction ....

    "UNFORGIVABLE"

I actually don't doubt this game will be fun. I'm sure I'll love it. It looks like a MM/MMX hybrid and has some cool character designs. I don't like the fact that they went with that bland art style (It would have been much better if they at least cel-shaded it), but to me, it looks like it has all the makings of a wonderful game. They're just fucking up with all the bad press and advertising. This trailer didn't help at all.

"YOU GOTTA PLAY THIS GAME, DUDE!"

  15.

OH HOLY GOD NO FUCK KILL IT WITH FIRE

What are they doing to my beloved Megaman...

If there is going to be ANY animated series, the art MUST look like this:

    RMCoverPromo.jpg

It looks fucking terrible. The thing about it is that we'll probably get a game based on this new cartoon, and that's probably the only MM we'll get from now on. There will be this shit on mobile and PS4, and the cartoon will suck and get canceled, signaling the end of Mega Man....

The closest we'll ever get to a MM anime in the original style is Wish Upon a Star, and it was an educational series.

I'd love for them to revisit/finish Mega Man X. That's my dream in life.

  16.

Is this guacamole (or maybe just avocado) ? :ok:

Guacamole with Salsa Verde on top... never had such burger before, awesome choice Squee :)

    inside was like - dayum:

    cA7WV1g.jpg

    Fuck!

I must live in a really crappy place, because I find decent burgers around here, but there's nowhere that serves godly masterpieces like this... I need to either move or do some more traveling.
