  1. Yeah, so I'm putting together a home hi-fi system, and, of course, I'm going to be listening to a lot of electronic music on it. I'm getting swamped by all the speaker choices out there. I figured best choice for this would prolly be whatever the original artists use to listen to their own stuff. So, does anyone know what VS, Autechre, Aphex, etc use in THEIR studio? Especially Ae, 'cause I want them to sound good above all others
  2. So far I only have a noise track I made about 2 years ago for when Surrealist had a similar problem with his neighbors, and Autechre's Gantz Graf on my WinAmp playlist. Those are the only purely noise tracks I have in my entire CD and mp3 collection. I don't want to play rap or any other kind of hip-hop, or any kind of actual music -- noise is certain to not only noise-back my noisy apartment neighbors but is sure to hopefully make them stay away from me because, you know, only "weird" people listen to noise right? So, WATTEM, your job is simple: 1) Recommend me some noise tracks that are sure to penetrate the ceiling so they can hear, through their floor, what I have to listen to all day. and 2) Feel free to make some of your own noise tracks, or dig up some of your own best noise tracks, and post 'em here. Heavy on bass is preferred. Irregular, crunching, grinding, mechanical is preferred. Treble-heavy tracks I wish to avoid with utmost certainty -- it is my neighbors through the thick ceiling I wish to punish, but I don't want to hurt the ears of my dog, a species which is most sensitive to high frequencies. High frequencies probably won't even pass through the thin layer of paint, let alone the walls/ceiling/floors of the building itself.
  3. If you could hear a collaboration between Autechre and any other artist, who would you pick? Personally I'd like to hear some crazy ae hip hop (like an updated take on Envane) with a guest mc (screwed up vocals of course) Maybe somebody like MF Doom under his Viktor Vaughn guise

    audio interviews from 97

The interviews say real player next to them, they're not as good as those other audios but they're...curious
  5. what is your fav. autechre track? p.s. i share an office with a dude and a chick and the dude sent me this link via instant messenger that he didnt want the chick to see, and i wrote something back politely, to which he replied "lol" which of course, i would have heard him had he actually been laughing out loud. the internets are everywhere now.
  6. Hi, my name's Brandon Lockaby and I'm trying to get some listeners to check out some music I've in progress. If you happen to be involved in MySpace you're welcome to add me and contact me that way, or if for any reason you want me email, it's gbrandon at gmail. (dot com) More info at my new web, here is the link http://office3.cloud.prohosting.com Thanks for listening :)
  7. a guy from this punk band that crashed at my apartment last year was telling me about this band from i *think* Italy, band name starts with an L, and they did some live instrumentation covers of autechre songs. they sounded like pretty weird dudes, they were trying to get signed to a particular label they liked, so they kept sending the owner untitled CDR's with clippings of their hair and other random bits every time they sent him a demo. then they finally got signed and they wouldn't let the label-owner see them, they recorded with him but they insisted on being behind a screen so that they couldn't be seen during the process at all. this definitely sounds like the kind of band i want to hear covering autechre, but i cant' remember what the damn name was. and I don't think i have a way of contacting this guy who was telling me about it anymore. I don't know why I didn't look it up sooner starts with an L and it's one word
  8. I`ve been trying for months to track down the autechre webcast torrent but it doesnt seem to be available online anywhere. I`ve got the That Other Site™ set but cant find the April webcast cos everywhere has taken it down. Ive heard bits and pieces of it and it sounds really good. Also, does anyone know where to get their XFM remix? It appears on soulseek from time to time but is always queued.

    anvil vapre

This is a perfect example of why Warp was such a great label throughout the 90's. Autechre were the godfathers of whateveer the music press couldnt classify
  10. Somebody on That Other Site™ posted these interviews, good stuff
  11. Rules are: 1. Track has to be post-1997 (so, LP5 - Untilted) 2. The only cule you can give is a 10-15 sec "Mp3/WAV to MIDI" clip of the chosen autechre track (check http://www.intelliscore.net/ or use some other wav to midi software) Whoever guesses the most tracks gets a prize I'll start...

  16. after spending hours listening to the impressive untilted, i have to say that their glasgow 2005 recording is mind blowing as well. its incredible how those mad beats fights each others, & slowly kind of melodies appears here & then, bit of textures as well, & every thing get transformed. i m sure warp are too much busy at the moment, but one day, someone should put their live improvisation on cd, cause not recording those mad moments, would be like, err... not recording jazz impro by miles davis or keith jarett i think. i prefer the records but the live set have specifics qualities / raw beauties as well..

Surely "Autechre Play Weissensee Im Glück (Original Composition By Neu!)" is suppose to be played at 45rpm!!!
  18. I made a couple of ae shirts at cafe press and they came out pretty nice so I wanted to see if anyone else was interested. I only make like $2 per shirt sold and I have no obligation to keep selling these so if people have a problem with them I'll take them down. I just noticed that there isn't a whole lot of ae themed clothing out there so I made a couple for myself. Anyways, here are the designs. Gantz Graf Design Draft 7.30 Design From my experience the clothing is a little big, so if you normally wear an extra large you might want to get a large, etc. Hope you guys enjoy these, if you'd like the designs on any other clothing items that cafe press offers, PM me and I'll sort it out for you
  19. Our first-ever DVD collection, featuring the best of Warp promos from '89 to the present day that, with the exceptions of Autechre's 'Gantz_Graf' and Chris Cunningham's legendary videos, have never seen a DVD release until now.
