I've wanted to do this thread for a while. Drone music has many faces, but often hard to find. I've never read anything in this forum about it, except for an old thread where the discussion was more focused into explaining the difference between ambient and drone instead of sharing rare and astonishing drone pieces. Would be great if this thread turns into a nice thing worthy of his pretentious title! I'll start showing what I mean with awesome drone music (in different styles) Classic: Less classic: Avant-garde: http://isakedberg.com/Λ.wav (fucking incredible) Anyone into this kind of stuff?

Noticed that there aren't really any JC-L threads on here so I thought I'd make one cause I find his music absolutely mesmerising (his In Summer EP and Songs of Forgiveness album in particular). - Does anyone have any his physicals or has anyone been to one of his shows?

Amon is the alias of Andrea Marutti, a practitioner of elemental ambient and tape music since the early 1990s. Among his decades of work, his self-titled 1996 album, here retitled as ‘Akh’, stands out for his almost mystical grasp of reverberant acoustics that hark back to prehistoric caves and spaces. Amon really gets inside his thing with literal, non-musical inspiration from the mysteries and rites of ancient Egypt, factored by the esoteric writings of Peter Kolosimo and a movement of so-called “pseudo-archaeology” that guides and elevates his work in the imagination. It’s frankly terrifying gear, tempered by a slow-burning, introspective quality that invites the listener to succumb to its meditative formations. One of the best albums I've heard this year. You can get it from Boomkat. They don't allow embedded links here.

New album dropped on the 7th of July, CD and digital. Great album, a little bit different from his earlier work too.
-
New EP from Rrose - of the three preview tracks available, we get a proper techno banger and two hypnotic droning synth excursions. Had to buy this instantly - excited to hear the remaining tracks in a few weeks.

I am starting a new radio show, the first episode is tonight, 9pm GMT via https://soundartradio.org.uk/ "The Tump Clump" is just an hour, once a month, of mainly new music I have discovered from all over the place. A mix of vinyl / digital and me chattering. Taking in noise, drone, improv, experimental, industrial, techno and even some sludge drone metal stuff this time. Basically, my usual melting pot (if anyone has read my zines its like that) This was recorded in my shed. Due to covid restrictions still in place - live broadcasting is not possible for everyone yet from the real studios. I recorded it live in one take and you can tell as I fluff up a few times and my vocals are quiet / mashed a bit with the vox I added. Hey ho. A learning experience. The music is the key. From the studios I plan to do live vinyl mixes plus I want to do a live techno/noise jam with my hardware. And I am allowed phone interviews too if anyone fancies it - lol - no swearing tho. Artwork by the fantastic blackcloudsummoner - I feature one of the collaborative tracks with Territorial Gobbing under the WET MIRROR name. Always looking for new tunes to play in future shows so HMU. Shows will go up on Mixcloud after - Ill stick links up here after. Cheers Soloman Tump

Thanks to @joshuatxuk for this excellent heads-up. Originally released on limited edition cassette for BEER ON THE RUG in 2015. track 19 is an added bonus track from Catalog sessions not on original release This will go some way to keeping fans of Sweden's Axel Backman (1991) happy. This is misty-eyed ambient and new age nostalgia, catatonic, detuned idents and pre-internet graphical demo attract sequences. It's absolutely lovely.

Duenn (Fukuoka, Japan) is an electronic musician and composer producing minimal works, using a minimum of equipment. Through collaborations with other artists, both sonic and visual, Duenn seeks an expansion of self. In 2017, Duenn formed the experimental collaborative unit 3RENSA with Merzbow and Nyantora. Duenn co-hosted the ambient event “Hardcore Ambience” with Nyantora.

Ambient drones, glitch layers, crackling and booming percussions, snatches and snippets of melody - experimental electronics for the connoisseurs. Recommended.

https://blushtothesnow.bandcamp.com/album/off-season https://blushtothesnow.bandcamp.com/album/virtual-shrine really really love this guy's stuff, he's been putting out quite a bit since last year, and i've been eating up everything he's done basically. some more on the drone side, some more on the ambient end, but all of it is worth checking out. stands out amongst the inundation of ambient stuff out there imo.

A fresh 20-year celebration remaster of a classic ambient/drone/synth/IDM album, originally released on Mille Plateaux in 2001. Highly recommended.
