  6. http://www.bonafidezine.com/luke-vibert-x-bonafide-beats-06/ Just saw this posted on the wagonchristsource and take no credit for finding it. Of course like a good reader of the rules I did a forum search before posting, so if it's jazz hey I tried. Looking forward to listening to it - Vibert hiphop mix ca. 1999: :sup:
  7. Soundcrash proudly presents a night of forward thinking hip hop and electronica laced with acid bleeps and squelches. Not for the faint hearted. . The one and only Luke Vibert returns to the fray under his most celebrated and wondrous moniker, Wagon Christ (to clarify, he is not under a wagon. Nor on one. Nor is he, strictly speaking, Christ, though we can’t rule out his messianic status). The king of stoned exotica, ridiculous vocal samples, toothsome puns, swinging rhythm and the psychedelic groove, Vibert has never been one to take himself too seriously, but his music continues to delight. His new album, “Toomorrow”, out on Ninja Tune records on March 14th is a case in point. Built around a dizzying array of vocal samples – by turn funny, vacuous, pointed and occasionally threatening – the album spins out in a hundred and one directions whilst always being recognisably a Wagon Christ production. Tonight Wagon Christ plays live to mark the launch of “Toomorrow”, and you don’t want to miss is, even if we say so ourselves. Which we do. . Support comes courtesy of Parisian Synth Magician Xavier Thomas, aka dÉbruit, and his melee of jack-knifing riddims, booby trapped syncopation and bass heavy collisions. His Music is a no holds barred assault through dark Congolese sound systems, downtown L.A. block parties gone wrong, haze filled Kingston recording studios and freaky Tunisian backstreet souks; all powered by a fat hip hop engine. Having cemented his reputation with a string of releases on Civil Music, including the massive “Nigeria what?” 12” single, dÉbruit is now preparing a full album and a brand new live set which you can preview tonight at XOYO. Boom! Click herefor tickets.

  11. Neutrinos (meaning: "Small neutral ones") are elementary particles that often travel close to the speed of light, lack an electric charge, are able to pass through ordinary matter almost undisturbed and are thus extremely difficult to detect. Most neutrinos passing through the Earth emanate from the Sun, and more than 50 trillion solar electron neutrinos pass through the human body every second. Scientist can measure these small particles but as if they were in a separate dimension, they do not know their purpose. They are a mystery. In the Summer of 1988, a scientist and his dog began on a journey to the Chugach Mountains in Alaska... he would stay there living on his own for 30 years, until his death. His grandchild, Kurt, also a scientist, would 60 years later return to his grandfather's shelter in the mountains. There, away from human produced electricity, he would begin his research investigating the mystery of neutrinos. Tracklisting (artist only): 1. Stars of the Lid 2. Godspeed You Black Emperor! 3. so i've plattered F off chicago, detroit, redruth. im pacing and thinking. my god mr. vibert, these chords are amazing. these things turning around. i particularly like that one note in the bassline -- you know the one. the one with the funk. so anyways, since i'm pacing, i figure i may as well do something with it. i start pacing back and fro. wahowahoaw. spin! da-BUN bun. then i realize it's 1:30 in the morning and i'm doing this in front of a giant fucking bay window. but then i calm down -- it's my fucking house, and it's not my fault that luke vibert makes me walk funky. but really,
  13. We are sad to announce that B12 have had to cancel their appearance at BLOC Weekend 2011 – Steve from B12 was recently hurt in a bicycle accident; we wish him our very best and a speedy recovery, and look forward to seeing him at I Love Acid later in 2011 once he’s back up on his feet. Joining the bill is a more than worthy replacement: the man who wrote the song itself that I Love Acid was named after: Luke Vibert, who returns to I Love Acid for the first time since playing at our very first party back in 2007. He will be joining our stellar lineup of A Guy Called Gerald, Mark Archer (Altern8), Ceephax, AGT Rave Cru, Global Goon, Placid, Posthuman, and Digitonal.

    Acid Techno?

So, is that how I describe my main music taste now? I've been saying "Stuff like Aphex Twin, Luke Vibert... Orbital. That kind of stuff" up until now... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Acid_techno I did use the term 'electronica', but then people kept saying "Oh, like Daft Punk?". And "No, not really. Well, not after Homework, anyway" didn't seem a succinct enough response. Techno has the van Dyke/Carl Cox connections. And if I describe my music taste as 'intelligent' (dance music) I sound like a cunt. Life is hard...
  18. i get luke vibert. i like luke vibert. i am not through with luke vibert. i am not tired of luke vibert's acid comeback.
  19. Big Soup reminds me of riding my bike to the local community college to take philosophy classes last summer, an incredibly chill time in my life. Roll out of bed, bike to class in flip-flops, head on over to a friend's house after class and smoke weed for the rest of the afternoon.

The full proceedings from this autcion will go to MacMillan Cancer Support. The picture doesn’t do it it justice (we are rubbish photographers, and the paint was still fresh), but you get the idea; it’s a beautiful piece. Place your bids here.

His multi-genre compositions have been featured on influential labels like Warp Records, Ninja Tune and Planet Mu. While Eskmo's tracks encompass a wide range of electronic styles, he avoids classifications. In the past five years Eskmo has released over a dozen singles and EPs. His self released Hypercolor was featured on the Mary Anne Hobbs‘ BBC Radio1 show and was presented by Bleep as one of the top 100 tracks of 2009 in their catalog. Soon after his remix of Warp’s Bibio was featured in Pitchfork, he was asked by Flying Lotus to perform at the Brainfeeder Sessions in LA alongside Nosaj Thing. Angelides has since joined forces with Amon Tobin in a collaborative music project called “Eskamon” that highlights their love of field recoding and unique take on sound manipulation. This show is the culmination of his worldwide tour to promote his self titled album on Ninja Tunes. In 1995, Paradinas decided to launch his own record label imprint, Planet Mu, to give voice to other creative electronic artists. Over the last decade and a half this label has established itself as one of the most important platforms for innovative and experimental music.
