Vinyl and CD reissue coming in June this year on Mille Plateaux. Has remained a staple part of my listening habits since I first picked up the re-release back in 2004. After two years of silence, ambient legend Thomas Koner returns to Denovali Records with a fresh new album and conceptual series. Opening this collection of 'Tientos' - titled after the eponymous keyboard-based style of music born in Spain - this 'Tiento de las Nieves' sees Koner explore the piano in all its strengths and weaknesses, rigidity and roundness.The result is a 68-minute long sonic impression of a white wilderness-like environment as Koner describes it himself. Saddened to see that it's only 36 minutes, though I'm sure it'll be awesome, and that Touch really does seem to be using jewel cases now for certain releases. I'll miss their Delga digipaks.
