  1. This is available for preview/download on the new Rephlex site here. All four tracks are very cool... hopefully we'll see a hard copy release in the near future! (apologies in advance if this is jazz, but I can't find any threads re this release)
  2. Hi, through youtube I've managed to find someone who had a VHS of this TV show which is "hosted" by Grant of Rephlex, with some guests and generally just talking about the label. He got it digitalized and I just uploaded all parts now. The show was aired on a program called WahWah (which also did a Merzbow feature if I remember correctly) around 2001. Because I had to cut the commercials out, and because of cheap semi-working videosplit programs, there are 7 parts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XA75UokCGl8 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NFvFcHPRdjo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Eu_Fus8tKTU http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHs_TWeU9wc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kpyy0nXX1wk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K7sO2aD_F58 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y7OfPMBYT58 Enjoy!

  4. bochum welt hints at new release http://twitter.com/b...277711561916416 http://www.bochumwelt.com/
  5. Never knew this existed. Thanks to the B12 thread I found this in my search for more B12. It's really fucking good. A couple afx tracks I never heard either and Balil who were Plaid apparently. Very rare of course and people are selling them for $120CAD on discogs, so I pursued it through slsk. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Philosophy_of_Sound_and_Machine http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Philosophy-Of-Sound-And-Machine/release/51236
  6. Rephlex interviews are scarce, so this is worth a topic I reckon. Apparently Marco D'arcangelo will be writing a monthly article about the history and future of Rephlex Records. The first article is an interview with Marco and Grant. The English version is below the Italian written version: http://www.improvearts.net/planet-rephlex/ Worth the read imo!
  7. DMX Krew is headlining the launch of a new monthly night called 'BLIP'! It's on the 19th feb at the Dead Dolls Club, Bethnal Green. It's gonna be all kinds of electronic music from Ambient & Electronica to Electro & Techno.
  8. The long awaited MS 08 is a split E.P between techno-rave unit Minimum Syndicat and The Kosmik Kommando, aka Mike Dred (Rephlex, R&S, Machine Codes), one of the true creators of acid techno, once called the Jimi Hendrix of the TB-303, and partner of Richard D. James within the legendary Universal Indicator project. No beardy hipster techno, no bullshits, just pure analog strobe-jams from the vault of rave. Don't think I have to add anything to this, except that it is available on 12" or digital. Brilliant stuff! https://minimumsyndicat.bandcamp.com/album/tesseract-ep-ms08
  9. Many of you reading this will no doubt be familiar with Rephlex Records. About three years ago, because I'm something of a fanatic, I put together a printed discography. It features pages dedicated to Aphex Twin, Luke Vibert, Bogdan Raczysnki, Cylob, DMX Krew, The Tuss, and Ceephax Acid Crew. You can view the full project on my Behance profile: http://www.behance.net/gallery/Rephlex-Records-printed-discography/7730025 Please feel free to share the project on Tumblr: http://szabohaslam.tumblr.com/ I will be producing a limited amount to sell, with kind permission from Rephlex. You can follow me on Twitter for updates: @Szabo_Haslam
  10. I remember a very nicely written paragraph filled with adjectives describing the 'braindance' term. For some reason i was sure it was in the 'braindace coinsidance' printed album art, which it is not. Does anyone recall of it and maybe have a graphic of it?
  11. Hi all, I'm selling a few records over the next few days which might interest people, I'm sure this one is probably the one which most will want. I'll also have some Autechre, Plastikman etc over the next day or two. Happy bidding:) http://www.ebay.ie/itm/281516799436?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 http://www.ebay.ie/itm/281516799436?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649

  13. This weekend Ed DMX did a two hour special on his influences and favourite tracks as well as a lot of his own stuff, with a lot of interesting talk about the context of it all, the ramblings of an old man and "talks Top of the Pops, the price of chips, Aphex Twin, Rephlex, making a living from music and some solid advice for budding producers." Definitely worth checking out!
  14. just posted on fb by grant. 12''.
  15. I was browsing Rephlex the other day and i found Vulva's birdwatch I had a chance to listen to this gem ... and holy shit they are amazing. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKwi-nUoRKU
  16. Anyone know why Rephlex never useds Cat 90-99 or have i missed something really obvious?
  17. "Following up from one of the most underrated albums of 2012 (i.m.o.), this is the first of 3 scheduled albums from new imprint AP Musik that begin to explore a phenomenon known as “The Colundi Sequence”; a series of mathematically-related and non-related and specifically resonant microtones that, in experiments, appear to conjure magical physical & psychological phenomena, synchronicity, unity. As the series progresses, proof and effects of the results should become apparent but for this volume, we are offered a carefully crafted introduction, to use as positive personal therapy and communal entertainment. The music is both natural and electrical, with an emphasis on sine waves of different frequencies, amplitudes and phase to demonstrate Colundi Level 1 to the listener, whatever the shape of one’s ear and one’s ability to hear may be. To give much more description of the meaning of sequence might be counterproductive at this stage; just have a listen! The very personal nature of the music is evident throughout. It is deep soundscape that draws you in to a different world; an intriguing symmetry of other dimensions. It is the result of systematic hertz experiments, a listening experience that is a coherent image from an unusual world that we momentarily enter. It is full of ingenuity and distinctly inspirational. AP Musik is manufacturing APMU4 now for release as soon as possible for those who will share our addiction to the theory; which employs elements and findings from a variety of scientific/philosophical sources. N.B. This ‘Ap’ is currently unavailable from iTunes, although it has been partially developed via Apple. A totally lush album, available very soon." Via Grant's facebook.
