I am surprised truly disappointed that this thread doesn't exists yet. Let's fix that: go to Craiyon and give Richard a hand with his next album's art.

Sharing a unique forthcoming event - ALGORHYTHM - happening on Friday 17th Feb at The Glove That Fits in Hackney - dance music for people, implemented mostly by robots. This is the first time an AI has been ready for the dance-floor. In recent weeks, we’ve seen a surge in the accessibility and use of Artificial Intelligence, most notably ChatGPT answering our questions, writing essays and further challenging our perceptions of its capability. If AI is being discussed and deliberated in some industries, then can it also be a DJ? In just over 2 weeks time, such an experiment is being launched - testing the boundaries of the club music world. Full details in attached press release. The promoter involved is genuinely interested in experimented with this in an open public setting, rather than proposing it as a replacement for human DJs. The press release aims to convey that the event is trying to have an honest conversation about these questions, with a belief that thriving creative communities can come from shared music, emotional connections and technology. For something challenging to our world like this, which is present in lots of current conversation….rather than immediately rejecting it, is it not better to allow such a thing to be tested amongst real people, to further prove right why we do what we do? And maybe even in the process, learn a bit more about how we interact with people/spaces/technology? What's everyone's thoughts? Anyone free to come down? 503535374_ALGORHYTHM-PRESSRELEASE.pdf

Through the use of OpenAI’s DALL-E 2 API and TouchDesigner, I’ve managed to create a, let’s say, MIDI sequencer that captures RGB data incoming from AI generated images in real-time, and uses it to trigger MIDI events in Ableton Live. Said signals are then feeding, among other things, two wavetables in the first two examples, and my lovely new Prophet 6 in the other ones. In short: The idea was to have a system that, given certain concepts (a.k.a prompts), generates chord progressions from the RGB incoming data resulting from the DALL-E generated images. Concept [prompt] ➨ AI generated image [DALL-E 2] ➨ capturing RGB data in real-time [TouchDesigner] ➨ using that data to trigger MIDI events [Ableton Live] For more experiments, tutorials, and project files, you can head over to: https://linktr.ee/uisato

Warner Music signs Endel, maker of an algorithm/app that generates ambient-style music: https://www.theverge.com/2019/3/27/18283084/warner-music-algorithm-signed-ambient-music-endel Didn't Warner learn from Selected Ambient Works Volume II* back in '94? * SAW II famously was one of the worst-selling ambient releases in Warner Bros history, so much so that Warner issued an internal memo that all ambient music signings/releases must have prior management approval, so the story goes

This is really amazing stuff... I think some sort of ambient art installation where the music changes based on the weather (say in some sort of outdoor amphitheatre) would be amazing.
