Since I started my intrest in Aphex Twin I have seen 3 advertisments containing music by AFX himself: "One Hour Photo" Channel 4 film trailer (Schottkey 7th Path) A Car Advert (I forgot the brand) [shiny metal rods] Channel 4 trailer which I forgot the programme (Thw Waxen Pith) If anyone else sees or hears Aphex Twin music on TV programmes or adverts it would be apreciated that it be posted here. Also shows/ads before I started checking with AFX music and foreign programming can go here too. edit: https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0416869/

FOR SALE: Analord binder complete - swap for synth/music gear
Ell posted a topic in The Record Crate
Hi, I have a complete Analord binder (binder and records in mint condition) that I’ve owned from new since release. The binder was ordered direct via Rephlex’s website and the records from bleep.com as they were released. I haven’t played them and they’ve been in storage since buying. I’m getting more into buying synths/hardware and making my own music now and was wondering if anyone would be interested in a swap for their old/unwanted synth hardware. Ideally, and maybe in my dream world 🙂 ,I’d like a Roland JX3P or SH101, but would consider any sensible offers of analogue or digital- 19 replies

Possibly the most current image we have (from 2011 sonar promotion article) this is a pretty old picture. I see a 2 keyboards one looks like an MS-20, some very large speakers and something that looks like atari? What else? What era is that from? SAW period? later? earlier? This is where I took it from: This shines more light on the blurry image (thx ZoeB): This is also pretty well known:

Coming soon on ROHS! RECORDS (4th December 2020) https://rohsrecords.bandcamp.com NEW NOYZELAB Album "CPMSubtree" audio will follow soon Noyzelab is David Burraston - or is it that David Burraston is Noyzelab? After experiencing the man's work, you may not be able to tell the difference. Noyzelab's debut at ROHS! is a surrounding and otherworldly album called CPMSubtree, made up of five surreal displays of studio electronics that elasticize the album's forty-minute runtime into unfathomable stretches of displacement. Currently residing in Australia, Burraston has sp

In the Aphex twin download, theres a 1997 show I passed on ages ago. .. eh, i think it was me who had it from years ago! I'm enjoying it again but it should be pointed out that its probably mostly Cylob (at his very best in my opinion) with a few tracks by Aphex twin at the start only. May it was a collaboration? Don't think so to be honest. Lots of great ulyssesses cartoon samples thrown in! this was an Australian Rephlex showcase i think.

It's time to make a definitive thread on this mix. Basically it's my favourite mix of all time ever since I stumbled upon it at age 12. It's also still my most listened to set ever, but I never could find anything about the tracks played in it except for Yazoo - Don't Go... Over the years I added a few tracks to the list (just like their Ultrasound broadcast which is also almost complete + Aphex's Snowbombing set), but never got very far without proper jungle / hiphop / break knowledge. I do remember going nuts when Ceephax finally released that Turrican track and later when Luke released tha

Aphex Twin Before You Post: The Record Crate Posting Guidelines
Joyrex posted a topic in The Record Crate
The purpose of this subforum is to list Ebay, Discogs (or other site), or personal sales of records so other members of the community can be aware of your sale and hopefully help one another out - you can also list items you're looking for (music related only), and perhaps someone on here has what you're looking for and is willing to part with it. When posting, please preface your Topic Title with any of the following: EBAY: (if it's an Ebay auction) FOR SALE: (something you're selling personally) WANTED: (something you're looking for and wanting to buy/trade) This way people can -
Was it James himself? Or a friend or what?

Hi! Is there a thread anywhere that brings together all the different interviews and press releases that Aphex Twin (under his various aliases) has given? I had a brief look in the archives and the closest I could find was a broken link to a .doc file. Magazine scan-ins would be preferable as it's less likely they've been mistranscribed. I only ask because seeing his April 1993 interview with Future Music in another thread here a while back is partly responsible for me getting back to my "sample all the things!" roots, helping me shed that unhelpful gear lust and rekindling even more

Aphex Twin will perform at Funkhaus in Berlin on Thursday, November 1st. Richard D. James announced his first Berlin gig in 15 years via Twitter this morning. It'll go down at Funkhaus, a former GDR radio broadcasting centre that mostly hosts large, high-profile events. There will be a show at 8 PM, when James will be joined by a "special guest," and an afterparty at 11 PM, all in the same complex.

uh, the guy who did the Streets of Rage soundtrack and some other stuff I thought of this because I know he's been known to steal/borrow/be influenced by whatever music he was into at the time, the first Streets of Rage is known to take from a lot of 90's DANCE HITS (supposedly the main theme is a rip of Sadeness by Enigma). So some time a while back I finally got to try the third game and the music seemed to make absolutely no sense, it was really techno but on cheap speakers it just sounded like a bunch of noise. I downloaded a rip of the soundtrack and it makes a lot more sense with a s

Anyone got this on mp3? It's that secret track (up there with the best of the rare tracks like Cunt and Phlaps) off the Select audio cassette compilation.

Aphex Twin Aphex Twin still considered musics most progressive artist?
Guest posted a topic in Aphex Twin
I know many will disagree with me but I think he still hasn't been surpassed ( people have tried to copy him, yes, but even though he hasnt released much in the past 5 years ( barring Chosen Lords). I think his combination of chaos and beauty is something no one else can get quite near. ( Im talking about the overall package-beats-melody etc.. not just one or the other). His legend hasnt faded whatsover, most other artists could not get away with that. Anyways, just my thoughts.. -
I think many of us go through different phases in our music tastes, and after spending a while listening to more ' regular' bands, 90s electronic music, and the (arguably somewhat nostalgic) newer releases by Aphex Twin/Squarepusher/Ae/Vibert/Jega etc., I'd like to hear something really unashamedly ambitious, challenging, and experimental. I don't mean punkish or crazy or noisy or breakcore-ey - I mean something chin-strokingly, brain meltingly weird and wonderful. Something incredibly nerdy (for want of a better word) following in the way of Autechre's most extreme and detailed moments. It ca

Hey WATMMites. I periodically make megamixes out of music I like, and I think many of you may enjoy these; multiple tracks or portions of tracks are layered over one another to recontextualise well known music or to create new tracks all together! here is the latest one I've put together: Sometimes these are more strictly themed, such as this 'All Aphex Soundcloud Dump' set I put together early last year: I've uploaded 7 so far which you can hear at the following link if you wish: https://www.mixcloud.com/Sweguno/ Enjoy!
