  1. Really neat website where you can create MC Escher-style metamorphoses: https://escher.ntr.nl/en/mmm
  2. Kirk Degiorgio struck gold during a recent dig through some of his old DAT tapes and unearthed 2 previously unreleased gems: a finished version of his widely acclaimed 90s classic ‘Hyperspace’ described by Kirk as the real Hyperspace and ‘Cosmos’, a rough uptempo percussive workout, proper crunch Future/Past sound. The DAT tapes also revealed a couple of tracks that were only ever released on CD: ‘TRY 2004 Funk Mix 2’ (from the 1993 ‘Applied Rhythmic Technology’ compilation) and ‘Locator’ (from the ‘Objets D'art 92-95’ compilation). All tracks were mastered straight off the original DAT tapes
  3. nice stuff... http://issuu.com/futurenoir/docs/bladerunner_sketchbook/1?e=2800767/2594380
  4. New podcast: FONS ÀUDIO #21. Eric Baudelaire Born in Salt Lake City but based in Paris, Eric Baudelaire uses various formats to explore politically-charged historical events and documents. In FONS ÀUDIO #21 he discusses the background and context of the ideas and procedures behind 'The Anabasis of May and Fusako Shigenobu, Masao Adachi, and 27 Years Without Images'. 8. Alright folks there is so much good net art happening these days. I'm not even going to try and attempt to give a proper intro. I'm just going to post whatever stuff I happen to like. Here's a starter: Vince McKelvie --this dude is a genius, making these insanely surreal and psychedelic gif objects vincemckelvie.tumblr.com http://cloaque.org/ (nsfw) Cloaque is an ongoing digital collage which perfectly combines a lot of these awesome visual ideas that are floating around the net art community.
  9. Just this short sequence uses 3285 watercolour paintings... and the guy plans on doing the whole movie.
  10. This guy seems to do some pretty gnarly drawings - similar to those which I would probably spend hours doing/concentrating on as a kid - to go along with his descriptive pieces about certain artists: Autechre Zomby Kraftwerk Have a nose around on his tumblr, plenty more artists are lovingly rendered (apologies if jazz)
  11. "A tough-on-crime street cop must protect the only surviving witness to a strange murderous cult with far reaching plans." [youtubehd]32sLgUoj91o[/youtubehd] Sylvester Stallone as Lieutenant Marion "Cobra" Cobretti Brigitte Nielsen as Ingrid Brian Thompson as Night Slasher Art LaFleur as Captain Sears Andrew Robinson as Detective Monte Nina Axelrod as Waitress
  12. I'm having trouble coming up with a coherent introduction at the moment. I make this thread because my head is spinning after days of reading and scrolling through blogs and tumblrs and weird websites. Is the modus operandi of 'underground' culture (outmoded term) shifting? Or is it just putting on a new outfit? My vision is very clouded by a barrage of content right now, so I can't trust my own judgement. Is the increase in experimental electronic music, left-wing fashion subcultures, and 'futurism' just the next phase of the 'hipster (in late 2000's sense, not 90's)' ? Is an attitude
  13. thread inspired by the wonderful http://www.reddit.com/r/ShittyPoetry/ to open with, here are three of my most recent works 'ode to a frog' 'haiku for some bullshit i found on page five' 'On Skrillex winning a Grammy'
  14. http://pokemonbattleroyale.tumblr.com/ Might be good for some avatars... here's one of my favourites:
  15. Old school-wattm'rs will perhaps remember my previous origami threads. I have a new piece made from some vinyl folders I found with really sweet designs printed on them (see nopattern.com). This guy's made from 20 strips - no glue or tape needed to hold it together. Corner-centred view. Edge-centred view. These books weigh over 15 lbs. The shape distorts, but is restored once the weight is removed. Am I too late to win IDM-as-fuck thing of the year?
  16. i've been to the Dali museum in St. Petersburg FL a dozen times, but never heard of this before. seems like one of those lost gems of the past, like Destino: http://io9.com/5861193/what-did-salvador-dalisalice-in-wonderland-look-like?tag=concept-art
