  1. It's that time of year. This just showed up on Japanese website Ototoy. https://ototoy.jp/_/default/p/650204 It just wouldn't be Christmas otherwise.
  2. Happy Holidays all As the scene's keenest scribe-cum-producer, Blackdown's blog and Keysound label were at the core of the genre’s early sound, placing him in proximity to key players including Burial. Like we mentioned, Burial’s remix of ‘Crackle Blues’ in 2006 was, just like his debut 12”, sorely overlooked at the time, and remains one of his tightest and most effective garagey/woodblock productions. On the ’Shock Power Of Love’ EP they check in 15 years later for a 2-step pow wow, passing the peace-pipe over cuts of Detroit-inspired garage and deep-fried, crispy London soul music. Blackdown gives clear nods to his 313 inspiration on both sides, framing his restless subs and garage swing with sampled, house declarations and soaring pads in ‘The Journey VIP’ while nodding to Juan Atkins and Red Planet via Geeneus in a remix of Heatmap’s ‘Arklight.’ Burial is at his signature best on the other two, frothing choral vocals into a scissored 2-step shuffle on ‘Dark Gethsemane’ before rolling out fathoms deep into the iridescent trance leads and scalp-stroking Reese bass licks of ’Space Cadet.’ https://boomkat.com/products/shock-power-of-love-ep https://burial.bandcamp.com/album/shock-power-of-love-ep
  3. It's Christmas. That means one thing. Or maybe not. Would rather have had one killer Christmas track than staggered eps of blandness all year. What say the WATMM massif?
  4. http://www.hyperdub.net/ New Burial LP Near the bottom, tentatively scheduled for release on November 5. Bring it on...
  5. Out on Friday. I know, the 'Burial' sound is something everyone either likes or doesn't. Sometimes I think it's nothing more than some crackling effects and tape hiss but probably there is more to it than that. Personally, I love the Burial mix on this. The other tracks are also good. https://bleep.com/release/207148-charles-webster-feat-ingrid-chavez-burial-the-spell-burial-mix
  6. Nazar announces debut EP Enclave, out this November on Hyperdub Nazar’s musical world centres around the extreme violence, injustice and omnipresence of a repressive state during and after the 27-year Angolan civil war, simultaneously exploring hope, resilience and pride in a country torn apart by conflict. http://www.factmag.com/2018/10/11/nazar-debut-ep-hyperdub-enclave/ https://www.tinymixtapes.com/news/nazar-announces-debut-ep-enclave-out-november-hyperdub Bandcamp: https://nazar.bandcamp.com/

  8. on 12 and digital. Mastered by Pole. hopefully this breaks Burial's stale-ass run of recent releases. collabing with The Bug should impose some requirements for structure and substance.

  11. http://www.factmag.com/2017/04/06/burial-goldie-inner-city-life/ After hearing some recent tracks from Burial my expectations for this one are pretty low but we will see. I'm quite supprised that it will actually be released. I thought that everybody forgot about Burial x Goldie project.

  18. Caribou made a facebook post earlier today saying: "how has it taken me this long to figure out that @FourTet is Burial?" I was instantly like, wtf is this nonsense? (which im sure Caribou also knows is nonsense) but decided to type "burial is four tet" into google to see what came up which led me to this tumblr... It seems there are people out there who've concluded that Burial is an alt project of FourTet... http://burialisfourtet.tumblr.com/ I thought it was widely known now that Burial is William Bevan
