    the Coil thread

Well the WATMM server wiped out the prior Coil thread so we may as well have a new one for people like myself who like to ramble about Coil until the proverbial cows come home. I'm very much looking forward to getting Colour Sound Oblivion in the mail. It'll be nice to see so elaborate a package in the "flesh", so to speak, as we may have something similar to look forward to in the coming years, as Sleaz has mentioned the possibility of issuing the entire Coil catalog on Blu-Ray with "many things that could be exclusive to that set". He says he would only do this if Blu-Ray is established as a standard medium for audio playback, which may or may not be very likely. I'd imagine it could happen now that HD DVD has fallen by the wayside but only time will tell. As mentioned in my post elsewhere in the forum, the most recent Coil news aside from CSO preorders having closed and the standard edition being imminently available is that Sleaz is getting his plans together for Time Machines II/Time Machines Legacy/whatever the hell he decides to call it. This is likely to be years away as he's getting custom equipment made to record this with. So we at least have that to look forward to. Cyclobe (Ossian Brown and Stephen Thrower) are also about to issue their new album. I'm not sure if any of you have heard them but they're truly wonderful and very much as dark and mysterious sounding as Coil were. They're also very much an instrumental project so those of you who were less inclined to appreciate Coil when Balance was ranting over the top will like this stuff very much. Thighpaulandra recently issued a new record, The Clisto EP, which I haven't heard yet but his last one (The Lepore Extrusion) was bloody awesome so it should be interesting. Sleazy's SoiSong project with CoH is on hiatus for the year but the two of them will both be issuing solo records entitled SoiSong... Will be interesting indeed. Again, I'm not sure how many of you heard SoiSong but they're fucking fantastic, very alien sounding and using a lot of artificially generated sounds that can be quite irritating to certain listeners. I fucking love it though. And lastly, The Threshold HouseBoys Choir are set to release another CD/DVD package at some point this year utilizing the works in progress that comprised the self titled Amulet Edition release with a movie that Sleaz was making about Thai temple tattooing. That record was absolutely wonderful as it was, and in that form it was work in progress so the finished release should be amazing.
  2. These are so good strong contender for my fav release so far this year Soisong Broadcast #1 by SOISONG Soisong Broadcast #2 by SOISONG Soisong Broadcast #3 by SOISONG Soisong Broadcast #4 by SOISONG Soisong Broadcast #5 by SOISONG Soisong Broadcast #6 by SOISONG Soisong Broadcast #7 by SOISONG Soisong Broadcast #8 by SOISONG Soisong Broadcast #9 by SOISONG Soisong Broadcast #10 by SOISONG On 02.01.2021 truck drivers and winemakers in Bordeaux region, France, witnessed an unusual radio transmission on AM carrier frequency 1202.1 kHz. The signal was weak and contained no information except for what sounded like a radio call from an unknown station. However, two of the witnesses also reported hearing voices reading numbers, and an announcement of a forthcoming "soisong" broadcast on 22.01.2021, at 20:21 CET.. To investigate the content of the forthcoming transmission with help of independent externals observers, a newly created scientific committee engaged a well equipped local radio station, Station Essense, with a purpose to track down and amplify the signal to the levels sufficient for live internet streaming. On Friday, January 22, 2021 the announced transmission was intercepted by the station, this recording is now made available here in its original quality

  5. Looking for LSD on vinyl, the original pressing, not the bootleg on Torso Records. I have a sealed LSD Cassette to trade for it, plus whatever $$ is fair. Discogs is just too much.
  6. A mix partially inspired by repeated pilgrimages to local mountains, their peaks & valleys. "Whoever can lucidly read the mountains shall know the future". https://soundcloud.com/cwmbran-city/black-mountains-meditation
  7. New album from some lads who just happen to also be ex-coil members. Vinyl & CD @ https://teleplasmiste.bandcamp.com/ I have not listened yet but the cover is quite lickable.
  8. One of Coil’s most legendary albums, Time Machines will receive a remastered and reissue on vinyl and CD from Dais this October. The 1998 album contains four long-form drone pieces named after and composed for hallucinogenic chemicals including psilocybin and DMT. http://www.factmag.com/2017/09/01/coil-legendary-hallucinogen-inspired-time-machines-gets-vinyl-reissue/

  10. Drew McDowall "Unnatural Channel" 2nd LP on Dais following up his debut album "Collapse" from 2015 Collapse is a personal favourite of mine, superb dark soundscape, quite sexy too. Below track is from previous album in 2015 -
  11. A mix developed for parasympathetic breathing exercises, where art & science coalesce. Music membrane courtesy of Deux Filles, Andrew Chalk, Andrew Liles, Operating Theatre & Coil....with a full artist update pronto: https://soundcloud.com/cwmbran-city/parasympathetic-resonance-ritual "In developing 'Music Breathing', Korlin (2007-2008) adapted the Bonny Method to address complex post-traumatic stress disorder, dissociation, and other trauma related disorders with clients who may not be suitable for The Bonny Method experience. In doing so, he developed a four-stage intervention: silent grounding, music breathing for grounding, music breathing for dissociation, and music breathing for integration. As such, Korlin has taken the template of the Bonny Method and adapted it to a specific population, modifying the music listening experience accordingly"....

  13. A slalom through the more esoteric spectrum of Coil's occult universe. Dozen of tracks could've worked, but hopefully this array captures the quality of music produced by some of Britain's most innovative, uncompromising & influential sonic pioneers. Track-list on the soundcloud bollix in a bit.
  14. CD and Double Vinyl (white Vinyl Edition of 500 via webstore only). 15. CoH’s “Soisong” EP was originally released in 2012 as an octagonal CD and is now for the first time available on vinyl, as an elaborated art edition, limited to 88 copies only. The octagonal vinyl is protected by two beautiful printed plexis plus an eloxadized and carved screw. Four different and specialized manufactures helped us to produce this stunning piece of art.http://hallowground.com/hg1688
