  1. It's been out a while and yet I couldn't find a thread about it. This is a surprisingly good album , harking back to those incredible broadcasts they use to do back in the day. It has all the copyright watermarks etc to give it a real archive feel. While there are quite a few new pieces int this continuous 49 minute piece, they cleverly sprinkle in lots of old early 90s samples that had me misting up. Great stuff. https://touched.bandcamp.com/album/touched-by-silence-please-note-fsol-is-cd-only-boxes-will-ship-in-early-feb
  2. https://www.fsoldigital.com/product/humanoid-kaage-ep/ 01 – KAAGE (05:15) 02 – Static Objective (04:07) 03 – Aennuiosk (04:44) 04 – Event Null (04:29) 05 – Void Over (03:10) 06 – LoadedMethod (03:44) It's a lot less acid than other Humanoid stuff, much more IDM. Really good stuff. Digital is 50% off as part of the FSOLDigital sale. Rumours of a 12" to follow at some point.
  3. Ten track release taking the original track and re-recording it, expanding it, and creating new pieces loosely based on the same theme and atmosphere. The last two RSDs have seen My Kingdom and Yage receive the same treatment to largely successful results, be really interested to see how they reapproach something from the Lifeforms era. As with the past few FSOL RSDs, it's very likely this will receive an expanded CD / digital release a few weeks down the line, which I'll be waiting for as it'll be cheaper, have more material, and not be split down the middle in a way that really doesn't work with FSOL.
  4. Vinyl release for RSD, good to see dual releases from them again this time. Great to see Rabbit in the Moon listed, they're also Tampa/Clearwater guys like me, who are massive FSOL fans since the 90s. I've seen them do some live remixes of FSOL at shows before.
  5. Surprised this hasn't been mentioned. An absolute classic from FSOL. First released 30 years ago, 1990 – Written and produced by FSOL before they became The Future Sound of London. This EP brings together the original recordings of the 3 main tracks released by Mental Cube, while the fourth was released under a different name, it was intended to be a Mental Cube track. Q – Quickly became a dance floor favourite funky 909 drums and speak n spell top line and big warm strings. Chile of the Bass Generation – Clanking Breakbeat wig-out. So This Is Love – a masterclass in classic UK House music that sounds so good even 30yrs on. In The Mind Of A Child – Originally released as Indo Tribe but in fact was intended as a Mental Cube Release – Bouncy heavy bass 909 drums beautifully constructed top melodies. TRACKLISTING: A1 – Q A2 – Chile of the Bass Generation B1 – So This Is Love B2 – In the Mind of a Child https://www.fsoldigital.com/product/mental-cube-ep/ Samples https://www.juno.co.uk/products/mental-cube/763846-01/

  10. Looking for some help to ID a track from the VPRO set by Future Sound Of London. Also, congrats on the 25th birthday of this set. And please go to fsoldigital if you're interested, etc. As they've made the mix available. Cost you a bit of money though. It's starts roughly at 1h:31m into their set. Or, basically the first track in this youtube clip. I'm sure they've released it somewhere. Perhaps on one of those archive releases. But it's a big pile of tracks to sift through, so I was hoping someone might just instantly know this and help me out. Any help appreciated. Or just ramble away on how good the set was and all that. (25 years ago!!)
  11. They've been working on the new AA album for like 4 years now, and preparing an EP length single by the end of 2019, full length album to (hopefully) follow next year.
  12. A much needed repress of the original double vinyl format, nothing new. Discogs prices are inflated, so good for them.

  17. Artist : Karsten Pflum Title: Love Canticles Label: Touched Music Cat no: TM37 Format: CD/Digital Country: U.K. Artwork: Hagar Faibish Style: IDM/Electronica Release Date Oct 24th Nov 2017 It's hard not to be biased when you get to listen to artists that you know and love but there's a reason you love them and this only adds fuel to the fire. Hot on the heels of the recent release from 'Ariande's Labyrinth', comes an offering from one of Touched Music's favorite artists, Karsten Pflum. 'Love Canticles' is a solid collection of squelch, rattle and drop - guaranteed to please our followers and make your feet tap. Kicking off with a dissonance that plays with your expectations of melody, the whole thing is solidified with a strong mix of conventional and broken rhythms. There are things you can't escape, notably the ethereal quality and a definite analogue feel that could easily be mistaken as Cornish in origin. Don't let this fool you however, this is the best of Danish through and through, although the keen- eared amongst you will hear the cat escaping the bag. Other nice touches include a peppering of vocoder, robotically enhancing certain tracks that already felt mechanical and industrious. Technical precision marks many of the tracks, 'I Am Ice' being a perfect example with ambience and crisp sounds aplenty, living up to its name. Not being satisfied with throwing a well-styled reworking into the mix to finish off the release, much- loved UK producer Ochre steps up and has offered his mastering & remixing skills to polish this great album. They're welcome bonuses that add to the already- delightful experience. Ochre's not the only remixer here, with contributions from Isan (Morr Music) & Humanoid (Aka Brain Dougans - One Half Of The Future Sound Of London) in the final stretch, the change is noticeable but well within the bounds of what Pflum has set out to do. All in all this is a spacious & thoughtful piece of work that carries on Karsten Pflum's tradition of style melding and refusing to sit in one box. It's great to know he's not going anywhere soon and even better to have him on the Touched roster. Support Touched - Music for Macmillan Cancer Support and get your copy from the 24th

  19. I ordered this last year, and a worthwhile purchase IMO. Along with the physical calendar, every month you get an unreleased FSOL related track emailed to you. 2018 features 2 different calendar options, along with buying the music tracks sans physical copy, or the calendar without music. http://www.fsoldigital.com/product/fsol-2018-calendar-version-1/ http://www.fsoldigital.com/product/fsol-2018-calendar-version-2/
  20. "Robin Appleton is the co-founder of Cranium Pie, a group whose whimsical adventures have recovered the wyrd roots of psych and prog. Launching new project Ai - Audio Intelligence - as a cinematic/soundtrack venture, he quickly began gathering like minds. Now a looseknit collective comprising several additional members (including Gary Cobain, Brian Dougans & Will White), Ai will release the fascinating 17 track album 'Paradigmension' on June 23rd." 22. FSOL's contribution to Record Storey Day 2017 is a triple-LP set called Archived : Environmental : Views One can guess that the first LP will be tracks from the archives, the second LP will be pieces recorded as part of the Environments series, and third will be 'Viewed from' tracks. I've been given the tracklist for the third so far: A1. Viewed from Pushkinova 7 A2. A Place in the Wilderness A3. Viewed from Below the Surface (2017 Version) A4. Viewed from Little Boats A5. Late October A6. The Oldest Lady B1. Viewed Through Apertures B2. Viewed from an Obscure Angle B3. Viewed from Fer Hills B4. Viewed from Across the Room B5. Viewed from Rosey's Perspective B6. Viewed from Under Leaves B7. Source of Uncertainty (Original Long Mix) B8. The House in the Woods B9. Viewed from Above (The 'Rosey' in B5 is named after my dog, which is pretty exciting).
  23. The 12th installment of my Single Source Publishing series rampaging through my 24 piece FSOL record collection. Enjoy the drift through time and mind-state.
