  2. Surprised this hasn't been picked up on here. Kraftwerk co-founder died today at 73. For me, this band were more influential and important than even the Beatles. Every single electronic artist that followed owes a great debt to this band. No four middle-aged men will ever be able to stand on stage and be this cool. Ever again.
  3. Kraftwerk in 1970, one of their first recorded live shows:
  4. This is pretty amazing. It's a little slow starting with the mix being uneven for 'Stratovarius', but when 'Ruckzuck' starts it's pure magic throughout. Seeing all the fresh faced Germans in the crowd smoking, rocking, clapping, staring, and laughing is a nice window to the past. http://pleasekillme.com/newly-unearthed-footage-of-kraftwerk-live-1970-dangerous-minds/
  5. This guy seems to do some pretty gnarly drawings - similar to those which I would probably spend hours doing/concentrating on as a kid - to go along with his descriptive pieces about certain artists: Autechre Zomby Kraftwerk Have a nose around on his tumblr, plenty more artists are lovingly rendered (apologies if jazz)

    Ralf and Florian and Richard

What does Mr. Twin think about Kraftwerk, and/or why wouldn't they have met and/or collaborated by now?
  7. "Kraftwerk’s long-time percussionist is readying a new record of his own. Bartos was a member of Kraftwerk from 1975-1990, the period which saw the group release the bulk of their classic albums. He consistently played live with the group, and also racked up songwriting credits on the likes of Computer World and Man-Machine. In the years since handing in his Kling Klang key, he worked with Johnny Marr/Bernard Sumner’s Electronic project and set up his own Elektric Music ensemble. His last major release was 2003′s solo album Communication, a release that sounded a fair bit like, well, Kraftwerk." "As Exclaim report, a new record is now on the way. According to German label Bureau B, Bartos is currently “in the studio working in high speed on the very last tracks for the album.” Bartos claims to be “looking forward to the release with anticipation”. The album, currently sans title, will arrive in spring of next year. You can listen to 2003′s ‘I’m The Message’ below." [youtubehd]JqxpW4CC9Gs&feature=player_embedded[/youtubehd]
  8. Hey people. I have been making one-off jackets for a few years now which are dedicated to my fave electronica/techno artists and labels. I made them for myself initially but have recently had a few compliments when I have been wearing them. I have a KRAFTWERK tanksuit, KLF - What Time is Love coat, A SKAM bomber jacket and a TRANSMAT cold weather parka amongst others. Anyway, I thought Id offer them over to anybody who is interested as Xmas is approaching and my family needs feeding!! Basically, Im not gonna put a price on my creations - Just make an offer and if i like the offer, Ill sell it to ya. You wont ever see amybody wearing another one of my jackets as there are only one of each. Im gonna be listing them here all week. My email is [email protected]
  9. Bleep have their Guide To Electronic Music, I have my Floor Excursions VI (Generations Unite). A tour de force through experimental, dance and electronic music: 36 songs from 6 decades in 76 minutes. All mixed in a (decade-wise) chronological order. http://www.mixcloud....erations-unite/ Enjoy the music.
  10. Yeah yeah we have a favorite youtube thread, but fuck all that noise. This is some worthy shit. All you jazz purists can go blow yerselves.
  11. "Mr. Hütter said a new Kraftwerk album was under way. “We didn’t fall asleep,” he said. “The 168-hour week is still going on since the beginning, since 1970.” And when can listeners expect the new album? “Soon,” he said." http://thequietus.co...bum-ralf-hutter http://www.nytimes.c...-kraftwerk.html
