So one day my friend and I were like, "let's make some lo-fi hiphop or something". Things took a bit of a turn and we ended up making the saddest shit ever - plus, we made 12 tracks in one day. We have absolutely no intention of doing anything about these tunes apart from putting some of them online and hope someone with a broken heart listens to them. so i tried to make an album that sounded like 1994-warp-era ambient ...and sorta got there a bit. kinda. https://danielarena.bandcamp.com/album/un or streamable on google play https://play.google.com/music/m/B5ovhtqur3o5oz4mszjyxyckwma hard deadlines are incredible at improving focus. in this case, i had a month to pull down my studio room to make space for an (at the time impending) newborn kid (i am typing this right now from the kitchen). i figured i was listening to a lot of broken ambient music and would give it a go. a lot of the sounds on this are processed through home-made, broken dsp - some of my plugins are included as part of reaper's js fx suite, i've been keeping some buggy weird things aside for myself though.

just in time for the spooky Halloween playlist, here's a real creepy and desolate sci-fi soundtrack just put up today: "this material spawned from a dream sometime in 2013. i recorded 2 hours in one sitting immediately after waking from the dream, and have been editing it gradually over the past year. it's a sci-fi horror story about an unconscious space explorer stranded on a strange planet, told through a desolate, ambient soundtrack. i tried to create an "alien field recording" sounding album (Environmental), but with sparse movie like orchestral melodies that tell of a dramatic event unfolding in the story (Narrative). and finally, dream scenes where the unconscious explorer (the listener, perhaps?) is subjected to alien hypnosis (Visceral)." --> https://ourson.bandcamp.com/album/the-sleeper-listens <-- imagery & interpretation aside, this is an extremely quiet and long album, and probably my most inaccessible music to date. but i'd like to think this album would be a stepping stone in the direction of making film music or any sound design job as i am currently unemployed & broke, using my music as a crutch & begging for tips. above all, enjoy and thank you.

https://soundcloud.com/asylumseaker/miasma This started off as a jam on my Korg EMX, recorded on my Tascam Portastudio 414.. cut bits out of that and added my new Volca Beats, and put it all together in Ableton Live. I tried to master it my self.. sorry if it sounds not good. I think the kick drums ended up with a slightly harder edge that's not meant to be there, but I couldn't work out how to get it very loud without doing that. Not my forte obviously. Hey everybody! I decided that I'd try my hand at playing some free improv. Admittedly I'm still somewhat of a novice (I'll work on learning some more theory in the future, not that it'd be completely essential for this kinda thing), but I can still safely 100% guarantee you that these songs have absolutely no structure other than having beginnings and endings. Each track consists of three layers recorded independently of each other of roughly the same length on the following instrumentation: electric guitar, trumpet, and handheld percussion. And yeah, the album cover's artwork is a pisstake, and the title honestly just comes from finding the similarity in the spelling of the words "developed" and "enveloped" interesting plus the word "solutions" was floating around in my head, but whatever.
