Hey all, I'm considering upgrading to Windows 11 on my dusty (but quite recent) music-making laptop, anyone in here who have taken the plunge? Run into any compability issues or latency nonsense? Please advise.

This is really amazing stuff... I think some sort of ambient art installation where the music changes based on the weather (say in some sort of outdoor amphitheatre) would be amazing.

I'm just curious as to whether or not anybody here actually has a sizeable video game collection, since the "currently playing" thread is always pretty lively. I only own games across 4 platforms; Gamecube, Wii, PS3 and PS Vita And the rarest (and most valuable) of them all, is this: I actually own two copies, one sealed and one to play. If you've never checked out the Fire Emblem series, I suggest you do, it's awesome. My brother owned a big box copy of Earthbound many years ago, he actually had a PAL and NTSC SNES for whatever reason.

So, I'm receiving a new pc soon (my current one is 7 years old and still has XP), and it turns out I will have the ability to immediately upgrade from Windows 7 to 8, and I'm not sure if I should... I mean, look at this: That's it. From what I understand, that's the desktop. Those big fucking squares. And I've read you can't change that? What the hell? It seems it's made for tablets specifially, or am I wrong? What the hell is Microsoft trying to force? Will they be shooting themselves in their own foot (again) ? I don't know. The change in how it looks is way too radical and crappy-looking to me, but maybe it's a decent system. Maybe...

still playing Left4dead myself, but just started Star Ocean for Xbox, and World of Goo is always a blast.

so anyone who keeps up with Windows knows MS is trying to unify their software across all consumer platforms with the Metro interface, the same as on Windows Phone 7. the upcoming Xbox Live update will integrate it into your daily usage, as well as the upcoming Windows 8, which seems to be touch focused, but will run on a desktop or laptop as well as tablets (and is a clusterfuck using a keyboard & mouse from what i've read). how do Windows users on here feel about this? some think it's attractive, some think the live tiles are fugly, of course you can change the color and background to your liking. for example: [youtubehd]EUeNCzRhhDE[/youtubehd] [youtubehd]6SW4hU3z-QU[/youtubehd] [youtubehd]8upI6M4T92U[/youtubehd]
