  1. Berlin-based duo Amnesia Scanner have announced the impending release of their sophomore LP, Tearless, a sonic reflection of how it feels to experience Earth at a time when collapse is emerging as the prevailing narrative. As Amnesia Scanner founders, Ville Haimala and Martti Kalliala watch their icy home country of Finland thaw- the staggering scale of political recalibration and the worldwide climate crisis blows open old norms. “There’s a looming sense of radical change,” they noted pre-COVID, connecting the period of making the album to a fin de siecle horror and curiosity regarding what n

  9. http://p-a-n.org/product/m-e-s-h-piteous-gate-pan-66/ Really interesting stuff here; sounds like he's moved forward from Scythians into exciting territory. RIYL TCF, Autechre, Dalglish, J.G. Biberkopf, or Commissions II-era OPN. Great interview by FACT: http://www.factmag.com/2015/07/12/m-e-s-h-piteous-gate-interview/ Bonus article by Adam Harper that delves into this kind of sound in great detail: http://www.thefader.com/2015/07/09/system-focus-cybernetic-club-music

  11. New album out in September on PAN and an EP, Kuang, in August. I really enjoyed his last couple of releases. Bit more info here Listen to "Untitled Reversion", an exclusive track from the London producer's forthcoming album KOCH
  12. Douglas is on a roll with his own releases, and now we get this nice look into his electronic taste (which is interesting because his own music is hard to fit into any style/scene). So many things I've never heard though! If anyone can ID any tracks, please do so. I'm especially curious about the first and second track, assuming the heavy dark beat marking the beginning of a new track. Ever since I've heard Andy Stott's We Stay Together, the beat-track at the beginning of this Dalglish mix is what I've always hoped any future Stott albums to sound like. I was always disappointed. N

  15. Brilliant release! Some of it reminds me of Burials beatless tracks. Heres what boomkat says Well, this could very well be our favourite record on the PAN label yet. It has a concept so brilliant and simple we can't quite believe it hasn't been done before, taking the burning embers, breakdowns and ambient interludes off classic Jungle mixtapes and re-assembling them into a ghostly ambient-not-ambient mix that's at once hugely nostalgic and totally forward thinking - so so good* 'Diversions 1994-1996' is Lee Gamble's chimeric recollection of jungle's golden era. lee gamble - overund

there is a track on the new album by lee gamble, dutch tvashar plumes, which is clearly a cover of overand from tri rep. i haven't seen any liner notes, so i don't know if it is acknowledged explicitly as a cover, but both the title and the audio make it pretty obvious. it doesn't stray too far from the original, but it's an interesting take. worth checking out if you like ae and lee gamble. it seems like covers are relatively less common in electronic music than in other styles (except for the phenomenon of acoustic bands covering electronic acts). remixes are common enough, but co
  17. Well, Mr. Matsunaga tweeted yesterday: So, I guess we can start waiting for it? I really liked the first part so I'm looking forward to this. (BTW, having some problems with the cyrillic i (the inverted N) here when pasting the tweet. Hope the title is alright..)
  18. Chimpanzees and Bonobos are the two species of the Pan genus, our closest genetic relatives. Together, they share more DNA with us than any other species in the world. They have a lot to teach us, about our natural behaviour, about how we learn, and how we evolved into our current state. Since one of my favourite topics in the world is the subject of human nature (and, in turn, evolutionary psychology) I have gathered a lot of information on these creatures over the years. I've read books about their behaviour, watched documentaries about their society, and overall it has helped me pai
