  1. Finally some new Monolith, been waiting for this one for a while. About 45:00 into this mix I believe
  2. "Ellen O’Maley, originally from Newcastle, born to Irish parents, moved to Canada in her late teens to study music at UBC in Vancouver. While attending the University she met Bernard Davies and Victor Beaudet, co-producers of the late 90’s cult project ‘Photodementia’, who’s most renowned 3rd release was re-issued with warm reception in 2011, as the debut release of a label archiving the project." "Ellen joined Photodementia as an occasional conspirator, who interviews of the time quote as being ‘inspired by late 70’s/early 80’s New York New Wave, Krautrock & the UK electronic scene, Cabaret Voltaire, Human League etc’." "Figure 4 is most of an unreleased LP Ellen and Victor recorded shortly after the Beaudet/Davies original Photodementia sessions, in Washington DC. The 7 tracks run in at just under half an hour, ranging from roughly 120-140 BPM. The band’s influences are clear from the music, as is their virtual Venn diagram involving peers such as Dopplereffekt, Underground Resistance, Hashim, Plaid, Beltram etc. The music has an original and unique quality all the same, from sinister dance groovers to light soothing tunes, the production shines through, not showing it’s age at all yet. Music from the past that remains Futuristic, it belongs in your record collection." "More Photodementia releases follow in 2013, a compilation CD is hot on the heels of this EP and a full length album by a new signing to the label is nearing completion now." look http://www.normanrecords.com/records/139000-photodementia---figure-4
  3. http://boomkat.com/v...dementia-fig-03 "Unearthed by our friends at Rephlex. Mysterious Washington Techno record label resurrected for a reissue of insanely rare and sought-after 'Photodementia' Project, a few white labels of which were originally distributed via specialists such as Black Market Records & Sonic Groove in the mid 90's. The Brainchild of Canadian-born Victor Beaudet, one time collaborator with Richard Davis of legendary band Cybertron and his partner, New Orleans' born Bernard Davies (R.I.P.) The album conjures memories of the first Drexciya & Dopplereffekt Projects, or perhaps AFX's Analogue Bubblebath, Kraftwerk ' Computer World' etc. Some snippets of audio have appeared on youtube in recent months and have met with resoundingly superb feedback from the fans."
  4. Hi all, I thought I'd leave this here, I'm selling all 3 individually, they've only been played once: Fig 03: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271460141291?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Fig 04: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271462104570?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Steinvord: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271462108233?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 William Basinski: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271443541590?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 I'm selling quite a fair amount of records, I need to downsize, here's my seller page: http://www.ebay.co.uk/usr/northernfusion Thanks!
  5. (The first?) Monolith interview in (Italian and English) with Dave Monolith, bit crap questions imo. Why not ask about 'Ellen' and 'Victor' and the intended lo-fi Dopplereffekt-ish sound? Or about Rephlex' recent way of releasing or their website being offline, or if the album will be released on Rephlex or somewhere else, etc. So many opportunities!). Anyway, here it is: http://www.soundwall.it/dave-monolith-dont-call-me-aphex-twin/ TL;DR: "He is also prepping his new Monolith album ‘Touch me’. "Probably in 2014 there will be some new Monolith releases but there are few things that need to be ironed out first. I’ve got quite the backlog of music that could be released but it takes time unfortunately."
  6. Recently released on Bandcamp. With an ERP track which is seriously bliss, imo. Check if you're into photodementia/eod/monolith http://bleep43recordings.bandcamp.com/album/bleep43-ep001-erp-plant43-orphan-jo-johnson
