  6. new LP, up for preorder, out Oct 30 can't find a tracklist yet. getting into some different territory conceptually, it looks like. the cover and promo blurb makes this sound like a concept album, as opposed to previous records which were pretty abstract and austere.
  7. Yay! New Kyoka coming soon. Sounds heavy and lush. https://soundcloud.com/rasternoton/kyoka-smashhush

  10. Out on Carsten Nicolai's Raster-Noton label on 25th September. It's been two years since the last album from the Cologne-based experimental artist. As with 2013's Capsize Recovery, Closing Ice is coming out via Raster-Noton, one of two labels Jens Massel has been associated with throughout his 17-year production career (the other is wide-ranging German outlet Karaoke Kalk.) Raster-Noton says the nine-track album explores "bass-heavy and atmospheric compositions and the trips into the dark recesses of the human psyche."

  18. "after successful ep collapsed (r-n116) the bristol based project strikes back with a full length album on raster-noton. once more james ginzburg & paul purgas challenge the perceptual boundaries between noise and music and the potential for both technology and architecture to embed and codify themselves within sound. recur is presented as emptyset’s third studio album, continuing on from their work with demiurge the material examines the central themes of time, structure and recursion, through the analysis of scale and the interaction of both formal and fractured sonics. the album furthers the project’s exploration of rhythm, dislocation and feedback within the framework of full frequency sound, structural abstraction and analogue processing. the work examines how notions of time interact with both experience and form, and the resulting modes through which this affects sound through compression and rarefaction and the forcing of signal thresholds to their critical point." norman records http://www.normanrecords.com/records/143166-emptyset-recur- raster-noton http://www.raster-noton.net
  19. "Here's a good chance to hear how the next Vladislav Delay album ("Kuopio") after the forthcoming "Espoo" EP might sound like. Recorded April 14th 2012 at the prestigious Bimhuis venue in Amsterdam as part of the Viral Radio 5 Year Anniversary. The set consists of almost only unreleased work-in-progress material for the forthcoming album. A broken mixer added some nice extra challenge for trying out all that new material in a live setting for the first time ever." http://www.vladislavdelay.com/site/
  20. Noticed this in the boomkat pre orders. Should be good. 2013 is looking good. http://boomkat.com/vinyl/624484-kangding-ray-the-pentaki-slopes
  21. "emptyset is a bristol based project formed in 2005 by james ginzburg, di- rector of the multiverse studios and the curator and electronic artist paul pur- gas. the project explores the legacy of analogue media, integrating aspects of rhythm, signal processing and spatial recording within the framework of mini- malist composition. their work interrogates the perceptual boundaries between noise and music and the potential for both technology and architecture to em- bed and codify themselves within sound." "collapsed is emptyset’s first release on raster-noton and investigates the threshold where sonic structure is destabilized to the point where a chaotic order emerges out of a resistance to fragmentation and likewise explores the potential contained within this liminal space of transition. across the four tracks of the release a structural grammar is defined and then pushed to excess to the point where it reforms from repetitive and stable frameworks into non-grid based forms and ultimately chaotic rule sets." look http://www.normanrec...0GXFWTOWNFhyxHA
