A collection of the three seminal Soul Oddity EPs from 1996 remastered by Keith Tenniswood (Radioactive Man), pressed on fresh vinyl, launching a reissue series (Capsule Freak) - so watch out for more. Extremely highly recommended.

Can't comment yet, haven't listened. But I like Badun, so this should be good 😄

This was a pleasant surprise dropped out of nowhere last Friday. Collaborative compilation between Schematic and Leek Records from Denmark - home of Badun and other likeminded electro-jazz artists. Some incredible standout tracks here, including the first new Jeswa track released in years (aside from an anonymous showing on the 2020 comp) and the Takeshi Nakamura (Muto?) track - which is an absolute killer. And that Icarus track is a whole 'nother beast. Whole thing really flows well. I hope to hear more new releases from some of these artists in the future.

https://schematicmusiccompany.bandcamp.com/album/2020-schematic-music-company The Schematic resurgence continues. This time with a huge comp of tracks from across their label, but uncredited. Bold emphasis is mine -- looks like we are getting some of the first new (old?) Phoenecia material in years! Tons of great tracks on this from everyone involved though. https://schematicmusiccompany.bandcamp.com/track/--3 -- clearly a Soul Oddity remix. Slammin. A very specieal thanks to our very spacial friends in non specific order:Ghroth, Icky Reels, Wake, eDad, Dim Past, Enix, Black Ant, Crtl+Opt, Ed Matus, Sky Tucker, Greg Beato, Breaker 1 2, Crash Course In Science, Sharlyn Evertsz, Joe Lentini, McConville, Brook Chills, Juan Telway, Terminal 11, Hydroplane, Ghostwerk, Proswell, Jake Mandell, Jeswa, o9, Team Doyobi, Phoenecia , Ossa, Donato Dozzy, Soul Oddity, Nomadic, & Takeshi Muto (and also their digital discog is currently 90% off - 31.99 for the whole shebang)

Literal Oasis is the debut release from Nebleena, a new IDM-centric label operating in North America and focusing upon talent from North & South America! It is run by Schematic recording artist Hydroplane and his cousin Toronto-based bioMecanico. https://nebleena.bandcamp.com/album/literal-oasis The material on here flows well and is of consistently high quality, representing many facets of what we refer to as IDM. Here's a sampler: The comp features Hydroplane and fellow Schematic artist Wake, WATMM's own ex-member Fluorescent Grey (who probably still lurks here), myself (Sweguno), and moooooooooooore! Digital is available now but in April there will be a ltd vinyl record pressing coming out as well which you can preorder! I'd never heard of this guy before, but came across one of his tracks "Corvus" from his forthcoming album and it's seriously impressive stuff. I can definitely hear an Autechre influence with a bit of a hip hop vibe and long form sound exploration. The other track released from the album reminds me a bit of AFX, but I think this is all sounding pretty exciting and fresh. I'm eagerly anticipating this album coming out in June, and if the rest lives up to the tracks released so far we could be looking at something special indeed! Check it out and see what you think: http://sylkougai.com/
