A new Tipper album, 'nuff said. Highly recommeded, not as crunchy and IDMish as Forward Escape and Jettison Mind Hatch, but cool nonetheless.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/394188952/2020-the-semi-modular-beat-machine And some heavily edited video: Basically I'm very interested in this, but not sure it's worth the investment for what I might get out of it. Seen a few reviews popping up in the weeks since I first saw it, but none of them really have any more information on actual real time usage or live demos; all we're shown is the video above and some links to performances where it's assumed a version of the software was used. I'm quite sure this guy isn't blowing smoke, but I'm also not sure how useful/good this will actually be once it's complete.

Skittering beats, glitchy scratchy nastiness, discernible Autechrean influences, and a couple of tracks with King Kashmere on rhyme duty. Bandcamp has only one track, Juno has clips. I'll wait until full release, but tentatively recommended.

70+ tracks of beats, beats, and almost nothing but beats, all half-time stompers, like walking through molasses. Probably most usable as a *step DJ toolkit.

I saw that there was a general hip hop thread but I wanted to make one to highlight verses from some heavyweight rhyme writers to use a phrase from Ghostface Killah These are some of my favorite verses from hip hop songs. What are some of yours? This one takes the cake for me. It is AZ's verse from the Nas song Life's a Bitch Honorable mentions Rakim, My Melody, the whole song Nas, Live Nigga Rap, third verse Inspectah Deck, For Heavens Sake, first verse Jean Grae, Keep Livin, second and third verse Roc Marciano, Higher Learning, whole song Phife Dawg, too many to list, I pretty much love all his verses Recent songs Benny the Butcher, George Bondo, third verse Stove God Cooks, Cocaine Cologne, second verse

PAN-AL's first album, an interesting mixture of ambient, ethereal beats and electronic shoegaze.
