  1. if you haven't heard of the Trans-Pacific Partnership, please watch this now: The transcript, if you want to follow along: (here's the Democracy Now! article about it with the transcript: http://www.democracynow.org/2013/10/4/a_corporate_trojan_horse_obama_pushes) if this still isn't bothering you, please go here. some more information about this "free trade agreement": http://www.citizen.org/TPP https://www.eff.org/issues/tpp http://reason.com/archives/2013/11/16/the-tpp-obamas-dangerous-international-d http://www.exposethetpp.org/index.html http://stoptpp.org/ If you're in the US and you are bothered by this at all (I really hope you are, if not, wtf?), please for the love of Glob contact your representatives. You can do so easily here. ---- Disclaimer: Since, in the past, I've posted links and been entered into debates as if I wrote every word on those links myself, I'll just go ahead and say now: if you find something to disagree w/ on the websites I've linked, knock yourself out explaining your position, but know that those sites do not necessarily represent my views. As such, I probably won't be getting into debates about whether the US is "evil" or not or any other similar tangents; the purpose of this thread is simply to raise awareness since I haven't seen any watmm talk about this at all.

  3. "An update to UK copyright law means that from 1 June 2014 it will no longer be illegal to make copies of CDs -- or ebooks or any other media -- that you have bought for personal use. According to current law, it is actually illegal to copy a CD for backup or to play the music on an MP3 player or mobile. It's also illegal to format shift an ebook you've bought from one device to another. Under new exceptions to copyright law, first initiated by the 2011 Hargreaves Review, people will be no longer be committing a crime by format shifting copies of CDs, ebooks or films they have bought. It will remain, however, illegal to make copies at home for friends and family. So no passing on those ripped CDs, people! If you want to give the CD to a loved one, you should make sure you delete any personal copies you have made from it, explains the Intellectual Property Office (IPO)." who has used cafepress on here and whats your opinion on them? i never orderd from tthem but personally imo i think cafepress is a big pile of garbage. i made a shirt on there and they deleted it cuz they said it was violating of a copyright but i dont see how? my shirt had on it a box with was dark blue in the top and bottom and the middle divides in half with red on the left and right it was no printing (printed on tan so it is tan) and in the blue parts it said TOMMY HILFINGER in arial font. they said its violating tommy hilFIGER but his logo is way different and his name is to. i used a diferent font and my colors where different. his is red on the RIGHT and WHITE on the left not tan do i have a case against cafepress for what they did to my shirt? i could of potentially lost income cuz of them (i made the shirt cost $40 so when someone bought it i make alot of money). and if disney could copyright the "happy birthday" song for when they added just 1 note my difference from tommy hilfger's picture are enought to right? PLUS i heard if ur making a PARODY (which my shift could be thought as) your allowed to break copyrights however u want, is this true legal lawyers? i heard people say cafepresses shirts are bad quality though maybe its not even worth it
