Yeah, that Cyriak. Not kidding. The music is recognisably Cyriak. And after the first few levels, the madness as well. Here's a playlist of legendary Youtube doomer decino playing through the levels one by one. A hell of a trip, if you ask me. Definitly enjoyable if you're one of those people with DOOM-melancholy. Read, grew up playing 90s DOOM. Also, happy new yeear For the few who don't know Cyriak. (blasphemy!) He's the guy famous for making these

Hey guys. Do you think I should make more stuff in this general vein, derivative as it is? I don't post noises I make much, but I don't know, I could do more, if anyone but me enjoys it, or maybe just sees some potential. ^dis is me Yeah, it sounds identical to the stuff I make on Reaktor sometimes, I don't know what's wrong with me. yours in fuzz, me

Pre-orders of the new album from Christoph de Babalon are available now from Love Love Records: http://tinyurl.com/q6nrhrb! Listen to album opener ‘Barely You’ for a taste: Release date: November, Friday 13th With a career spanning over two decades, Christoph De Babalon has consistently created music that stands apart from contemporaneous trends. Early 12”s such as ‘Destroy Berlin!’ on Alec Empire’s Digital Hardcore Recordings (DHR) and ‘We Declare War’ on his own Cross Fader Enter Tainment (CFET) outlet first presented his cathartic brand of noise-orientated drum & bass and his isolationist tendencies, with extensive support from the late John Peel and Thom Yorke helping Christoph achieve somewhat of an outsider-status. More recently his ability to remain separated from specific spheres of influence has allowed him to deliver uncompromising releases like the mutated conceptual album ‘Scylla & Charybdis’, as well as his diverse 2012 album ‘A Bond With Sorrow’ on Tigerbeat6, marking a departure from the chaotic flurries he was perhaps previously more known for. ‘Short Eternities’ sees Christoph once again exploring the abrasive nature of his earlier work whilst maintaining throughout the album a level of measured assuredness not often seen in this area of music. Album opener ‘Barely You’ serves as a powerful message of intent interlacing a fractured drum break with tense horror tones, whereas detailed ambient atmospheres such as those in ‘Wait For Me’ and ‘It’s Returning’ alongside the hypnotic rumblings of ‘Home is Here’ and ‘Bad Dreamer’ break apart the extremities of the album, providing an opiated atmosphere within which the album swims around. This cinematic presentation allows for a far greater impact when the climactic ‘Haunting Past’ finally hits home with its finely-tuned blend of jarring distortion and moody surroundings, followed hastily by the twisted drum breaks and writhing bass-line of ‘Fairreality’. Christoph touches upon a rich shadowy darkness akin to a handful of contemporaries such as Demdike Stare and Vatican Shadow but with a vigour that captures the anarchic spirit of early breakcore. It is the explorative and ritualistic nature of his method, combining paradoxical feelings of euphoria, introversion and explosive aggression, which truly makes Christoph’s music so compelling.

Looking for good metal/doom/sludge *without* ridiculous vocals.
Guest posted a topic in Music Discussion
Hi, For some time I've been looking for some good metal/doom/sludge, whatever bands that don't have the commonly termed "cringe-worthy" vocals that kind of kill the whole presentation. I'm open to bands without vocals completely (old Earth), and I am familiar with some of the classics that do have nice vocals (Electric Wizard, Sleep), but I'm looking for something either new or bands I haven't heard of before, which I'm sure is obvious by the thread title... I know I've made a thread seeking the same sort of music without vocals, so maybe this can focus on bands and albums that people like, with an instrument of the human voice that doesn't bother them to the point of shutting the music off. Even if they do scream or yell, if you like them, and the singing feels genuine, please share it by all means! There's a doom band out of Chicago called Indian that has a vocalist who definitely screams, but for some reason I like and don't mind his voice (a great band if you haven't heard of them before). This extends to all "metal" forms, sludge, doom, whatever, as I like doom a lot but I am looking for faster, rhythmic bands/albums as well. I love you all. <^^>- 51 replies

from an article in Q Magazine While I don't think he's serious about not coming back to the US it probably doesn't bode well for all his upcoming collabs. JJ DOOM was supposed to come out sometime this month last I heard but that's obviously not happening. Then there's the Doomface (DOOM & Ghostface) album they keep saying they're going to make and, of course, everyone's still waiting for Madvillain 2.

It's been a few years since I listened to him, but I put a few albums on last night. Anybody familiar with his music? Too gimmicky? It is kinda funeraldoom-y, but it's so minimal and sparse that I can't even judge it by metal standards.

Thought I'd post this in here even though I never listen to anyone else's tracks and nobody listens to mine. I've had this idea for a while to make a completely ridiculous dubstep track with cyberdemon sounds. I took it that one step further and made it a cover of the Doom E2M8 music as well. Hope you laugh as much listening to it as I did when making it! http://soundcloud.com/pselodux/cyberdemon
